Reconciliation - Edit bank account for bank transactions (spend, receive, transfer, or payment)
Ability to edit a bank account without having to delete the transaction and then re-enter it in the correct account.
Purpose: Save time from deleting the transactions and entering them from scratch in the correct account.

It's ridiculous that you can't edit a bank account - if the transaction is unreconciled, which it will be if it's been posted to the wrong bank account, why not be able to edit the bank account to the correct one? A huge amount of time and possibly error in redoing the transaction, especially if already allocated to an invoice

agree with others this should be a function so as to not have to reconcile the receipts manually again

It would be helpful to be able to edit payment transactions. The only option is to 'Remove & Redo' if a change needs to be made. As an outside accountant, I do not want to delete and redo my client’s transactions. I would prefer to edit the transaction, such as adjusting the date if it was inadvertently entered incorrectly, as necessary.

I had this function in Quickbooks. It would be very useful for your customers.

Sales tax audit report cannot load 1 year worth of transactions. I get it might be too big of a file size, but i think Xero should upscale its capacity to load transactions for at least 1 year.
If company grows, there will be more transactions so I hope it does not impact that.

USD / CAD payments should be able to match payments to invoices in other currencies like GBP or EUR. I find that I cannot match payments to invoices in different currencies.
I have to park it in Suspense account first.
Thanks

Spend money - can add option to change bank account if we selected wrong bank acount. My client wrongly chose the bank account and has to retype everything, unlike myob can just switch the bank account.

When we first started using Xero income and expenses were being transacted through one bank account. Later in the year another bank account was opened and it was added to Xero. Unfortunately many entries were still recorded in Xero against the old bank account rather than the new one by a colleague. I now have the onerous task of manually reinputting these records against the correct bank account and removing from the incorrect one. As with others I am very frustrated that you can edit all fields apart from the bank account used. Surely this is an urgent issue that needs addressing?

my sales system creates the prepayments, but it is costantly posting them to the wrong bank account it would be helpful to change this in a created prepayment to avoid removing and redoing the full prepayment.

It would be great to edit a client payment instead of remove and redo.
Also, be able to apply receive payment to an invoice.

If Spend money is posted to incorrect bank account, it would be good to easily change the account when you edit it. As far as I can tell, this can't be done so we need to remove and redo and re enter to correct account. Intuit allow this simple functionality so not sure why Xero cant??

You can edit everything in a spend money and receive money transaction apart form the bank account - this is nonsense and reading the comments below I can not believe this change has not been actuated already. It is particularly important when you use Hubdoc or similar as the copy transaction alternative means you lose the attached document in the correction so you have to remove and redo and go back and identify the transactions in Hubdoc and re-sync. Madness!

Toby Bradley commented
It is easy enough to copy the transaction to correct the bank used, however, since most of the transactions now have a file attached via HubDoc the job becomes impossible. It should be possible to change the bank as suggested without deleting or re-creating anything.

I'm just starting using Xero, and already I'm questioning my choice having discovered I can't do this...
