Thanks for your expressions and feedback in a bulk download or print facility for Files (either from the Files library or at an individual transaction level)
We know that bulk operations can be handy, however at this time we have no plans to develop this functionality. We know it might seem like a small feat, however often even small change is more tightly woven and intricate to solve beneath the surface.
While we understand this must be frustrating to hear, we’re currently focused on making improvements in other areas of Xero and are unable to prioritise a bulk download or print feature right now.
However, in situations like these there are often connected apps through the Xero App Store that may be able to assist. We appreciate and will revise solutions that could fulfil needs in this space, but want to be honest this isn’t something we have plans for right now.

commentedI would like to be able to download all the attachments I've put in Xero each year as a backup in case Xero ever goes down or I need to provide to an auditor. Downloading them one at a time isn't a good use of time so a bulk download would be really nice.

commentedIt is odd that this isn't a function, since you can upload in bulk. It would be very useful for uploading into Dext to save time

commentedThere is also another post about this. Its ridiculous that this isn't an option - and no way of backing up attachment pdfs.

commentedALL: This feature suggestion has been posted since Nov. 18, 2013 with 180 votes and it has still not been implemented. My suggestion is that we save whatever is uploaded as attachments to our company hard drives and use that as our back-up. Xero is clearly not in a hurry to add this feature so we shouldn't rely on them.

commentedAbility to back up all data and attachments is critical given moves toward paperless offices. Copies of bills are uploaded into Xero and are the only way to access this information. Back up of payroll data including Employee information is also critical to allow uninterrupted ability to process payroll.

commentedXero clearly don’t GAF about it’s users as I don’t think I have seen a response to any of these comments on a critical required feature! It is so obvious they will never introduce this feature because if they do, users will have a reason to leave their system. It is a joke IMHO that Xero claim to be ATO compliant when they don’t even have this simple feature which is an audit requirement. Everyone is so polite in this forum - but I am ******!

commentedPlease get this feature. This is the only reason I will never recommend Xero to others! This feature is essential. I'm now looking for an alternative to Xero for next year unless you tell me this is coming.

commentedWe very much could use this feature. I'm hesitant to move our entire accounting firm onto this software without this feature because if it doesn't workout we have no way of moving off of Xero... Xero needs this feature. Otherwise, it's clear to me Xero is more concerned with holding clients captive than it is providing a easy to use service. It's like subscriptions where its' easy to sign up but difficult to cancel. This needs to be streamlined in case a client wants to move off of the software.

commentedFor Auditing purpose, it is critical that we can provide supporting documents when Auditor or ATO requires. It is also an compliance issue with many organisations. Hope Xero can take this request as an priority, so, the software becomes the "source of truth" for accounting related work.

commentedBeing able to download this information would be really useful to us.
It would mean there's less risk going forward with a Xero Installation

commentedThis would be something that is really useful, I have a number of my client's in the hospitality sector and have stocktakes monthly and providing the auditor with copy invoices that have been processed through either Hubdoc or Email into Xero would save so much time.

commentedThanks for the ideas. Maybe saving files on the cloud is a good option, since it seems like this issue has been outstanding for a while.

commentedWell its a little less automated i guess, but im just saving the documents in a folder on my computer/laptop, all saved and backed up using onedrive. At least then when i eventually stop using xero, i have the documentation required to be retained, without having to get them individually from the system later (can you imagine !!!!!). The current situation is totally unacceptable. Even for something as simple as a tax office audit, to get the documents required would be far too time consuming.
