It would be amazing if Xero implemented this fix - I see no reason why the journals cannot automatically align. Xero already connects the original and the reversing journal with a note and hyperlink to the reversing one, so there is already recognition these are linked, why no just ensure the journal lines auto update each other? I have worked with less sophisticated software that does this as standard, very odd!

This just seems like it should be automatic - an auto reversing journal that only reverses the first time you enter it and not any edits just seems like an error waiting to happen.

Very important for our office to improve efficiency and speed

This is a fabulous idea and would save work!

Allow an option (such as a tick box) in the auto-reversed journal (in the edit screen) that automatically updates it to match the original journal.

Currently if there is a journal and auto-reversed journal, when changes are made to one journal they are not brought through to the other.

It can be time consuming changing two journals when there are a lot of changes. A quick option that enacts changes from one into the other would be fantastic.

It would be great to have the journal and reversing journal aligned. This avoids errors, and saves a lot of time.

When the original journal is edited, from which the auto-reversing journal is driven from, it does not automatically update, but instead the reversal journal must be manually updated. This almost defeats the purpose of an AUTO-reversing journal. Is it possible to automatically update the reversal journal whenever the original journal is updated?

would have thought this would be a standard process, you change one jnl and the auto reversal should be updated automatically, as above stops errors esp important when jobs are been audited ( they always look past balance date, and effects clients monthly reporting)

I use auto-reversing journals very frequently, and have to consciously remember to amend the reversing journal.

It is so easy to forget, and time consuming so it would make sense for this to be automated to reduce the risk of error.

Is this on the list for development? Feels like an obvious thing and I'm shocked it wasn't part of the initial set up when auto-reversing journals were created.

I didn't even consider that this didn't already happen, which almost caused a large error . This needs to be done for Xero to be considered a reliable financial system

Automatic journal reversal update.
It would be helpful if when editing journals we could click a button so that the reversal journal automatically updates (without have to retype the edited info in the reversal journal also).

Not having to enter a reversal date helps to avoid missing the reversal journal.

Please just get this done :)
