Dashboard - Show Bills and Invoices that are in 'Awaiting Approval'

Ability to show bills and invoices that are in ‘awaiting approval’ status.

Purpose: Saving users’ time from having to click on ‘invoices owed to you’.

Hi everyone, we appreciate all the votes and comments on this idea. We’ve heard your feedback and recognise how helpful it would be to see invoices and bills awaiting approval directly from the dashboard.

The good news is that a solution is currently in development. As you might’ve heard, we’re currently working on a new navigation and homepage experience, which is currently in Beta.

As part of this update, you'll be able to view the # of awaiting approval invoices or bills from the Bills to pay or Invoice owed to you widgets, and can go straight to the relevant screen from the new Task widget helping you stay on top of approvals without needing to jump between pages - You'll just need the right user permissions to see this.

If you’d like a preview, you can check out the design on our Prototype page. We’re still building this out and we'll share as this rolls out to you all, here.

    This feature would be a huge help with our payment runs. Often happens the Aged Payables is reviewed and a payment run is setup.. then its discovered a bill awaiting approval was overlooked and missed the run. You show 'Draft bills' on dashboard so why not 'Awaiting Approval'? Just as important if not more.

    We need this feature if we are to transition to e-invoicing. Our accounts team review and code the draft invoices which then need to be approved by managers - and the managers need to easily see if any are awaiting approval.

    A report to show which invoices have been submitted by users for approval. At the moment, there is nothing showing invoices that historically submitted for approval except for the History and Notes report - but that is just a summary.

    I would really like this visibility from the dashboard. I would also like to see 'bills awaiting approval' included on the cash flow projection. At the moment the company owner is slow to approve bills (this process is unlikely to change!), which means that they are not visible on the dashboard until pretty much the day they are going to be paid. Likewise for the cash flow projection. If I want an accurate cash flow projection I have to make one in a spreadsheet. I see this as a huge failing by Xero and I can't understand why 'drafts' are shown on the dashboard but 'awaiting approval' are not, it's crazy and causes me heaps of extra work each month.

    Ths is really important and it makes no sense that awaiting approval bills don't automatically appear on the dashboard.

    Hi team, this would be such a time saver! Approver does not see this on dashboard so doesn't notice there is an action to be done.
    Then there is a delay in being able to process bills and invoices - and a manual step of chasing the approver. It is all adding to wasted time for every job. Please add this in asap

    The fact that this idea looks to be first shared in 2015 and it still hasn't been done is very disappointing..... Anyone that works in a business where the approver is different to the inputter will understand how crucial this is!!

    Agree with other user's comments.
    It is ridiculous that this does not appear. This is a bug not a "feature" or an "idea".
    Very disappointing that Xero have not fixed this.

    Not being able to see 'awaiting approval' bills on the Dashboard is bizarre - so much so I thought it would be a setting that needed to be 'turned on'.
    As the panel is supposed to "show a summary of the bills you need to pay, and when you need to pay them", not having the 'awaiting approval' bills showing is counter to what it's supposed to do.

    Knowing bills are ready to approve is valuable information to our business - in which case we expect to be able to view it on the Dashboard.

    re Purpose, as above: -
    More than "saving users' time . . ", presence on the Dashboard alerts busy managers that approval action is required in their department.. E.G. "Inv-333333 (MG) alerts MG that follow up is needed. In our particular operation this is more than important. Thank you

    If the dashboard is to be the "go to" place for all important functions then this feature should appear there.

    Xero File with Multiple Users:
    Those entering bills are often not those responsible for approving bills.
    The Dashboard should alert all users to "action required", in this case various section managers - the current Bills To Pay screen is deficient in this regard. This is especially so where bills are received centrally. For efficiency and timely operation, I regard this idea as closer to Critical more so than Important. Michael G

    On the Dasnboard under Bill's it shows all the bill tabs except "awaiting approval" this needs to be on the list. At a quick glance it looks like everything is under control but once you go into drafts or awaiting payment suddenly you discover bills awaiting approval
