Navigation - Return to previous screen after viewing/editing a transaction
Ability to return to the previous screen after the user edited a transaction.
Purpose: To make users easily continue working on the previous page rather than having to navigate from the different page again.

I am a bookkeeper working full time on Xero for various clients. I have a couple of major irritations that I'm sure others have, and it would be awesome if they could be fixed *literally begs
1. When I perform a task, and I hit save/update/cancel/whatever to complete it, I'd like to go back to the page I started from please, not get kicked out to somewhere completely different. For example, if I go to a Contact, and need to edit a Spend Money transaction (to add a bill reference number for example), I don't want to hit Update and find myself in the Account Transactions on the bank account. I want to be back to the Contact, where I started, so I can edit another Spend Money if I need to. This happens all over Xero and I'm constantly having to navigate my way back to a page when I should already be there, it drives me nuts. I want to decide where I want to go in Xero, I don't want to be plonked somewhere I don't want to be!!!
2. Please can you add the ability to edit which bank account a Spend Money is applied to after the transaction is created. I have a client with multiple bank and credit card accounts, and they use HubDoc. They often tell me something was paid from X card, so I do the Spend Money to it in HubDoc. When the transaction then gets into the bank feed, I find it went onto Card Y instead of X but I've then got to download the file attachment and Remove & Redo the transaction on Card X's Account Transactions, then go into Card Y, create a new Spend Money transaction, upload the file and redo the transaction from scratch. If I could just edit the bank account within the Spend Money transaction and update it so it pinged across there, it'd make things so much quicker.
If any of you find yourself thinking 'Totally! 100%!' then please support this idea and maybe Xero will fix things... *dreams

Return to previous page is essential when checking multiple entries from any report. Its not just three clicks toi get back, but from some pages, filter settings and/or date ranges need to be re-entered each time.

When running a report and then reviewing and amending transactions as they are found, it is incredibly annoying to have to be returned to the banking screen each time when the report you were running was completely different, e.g. balance sheet report, bank rec or pretty much anything. This is the worst thing about Xero!

Great comments. Adding that the use of multiple browsers has been my "temporary fix" yet wastes more data entry time. Please add this to future updates.

This, along with not being able to search for items from every page, is a reason why I’d recommend other cloud accounting products over Xero.
It’s a small and seemingly insignificant change that actually saves a lot of time and frustration.
Why would it chuck me out to a banking page rather than whatever I was working on after I’ve edited a transaction? That doesn’t make sense and it interrupts work flow. -

I would like to have Xero go back to the original page I was looking at. For example - I am looking at Accounts Receivable Aging Detail. I click on one of the invoices, and when I close it, I would like to be returned to the AR Aging Detail Screen. Instead, I have to go through three clicks to get back to the detail screen (Accounting / Reports / Aged Receivables Detail). This takes too much time and happens in every instance when I want to drill down on a transaction - I have to retrace the steops I took to get there.

Maintain Intuitive Workflow
After completing a task, return to the screen from whence the user came, rather than dropping into other screens. E.g. Currently, if I select a client invoice from their Contact record and Add a Payment, on completion, I'm dropped into the Paid Invoices screen; to me this seems unintuitive. Ideally, I want to go back to where I came from - i.e. All Invoices of the particular client.

This! I open the contacts list, select a contact, edit the entry, it goes back to the contact list after saving instead of just returning to the entry for the contact I was editing. A definite improvement can be made there.
