Reporting - Show date and time stamp report was run
Ability to show date and time stamps, to see when the report was run.
Purpose: This will help users to do their Audit Trail.
Hey community, thanks for your continued interest in this idea. Earlier this year we delivered some updates to reports, so that they’ll now show page numbers and date stamps when exported to PDF.
This is an idea that was seeded by the community team when we launched Product Ideas back in 2022.
The Product team has done some great work to address the original request but reading the commentary here, the scope of the idea has grown a bit since then!
We’re confident that this release solves the original request so I’ll be marking this as delivered.
There are additional improvements that have picked up some momentum in the comments: to make the date stamp toggle-able, and to extend the field to include time as well. To be open we don't have plans to progress these specific asks.

Q4 Update with date only, time stamp is important from my point of view...

Think the marked was missed with this one - Users want the ability to show the date where it's needed, not it to become the default every time you PDF something.

Please fix this asap, we need a option button otherwise we'll have to manually remove the date on every page. Not every report published needs a audit trail.

I agree this needs to be fixed ASAP. Not everyone publishing these reports wants or needs the date published at the bottom of the page. It needs to be an option when publishing the reports otherwise it creates wasted time and resources to fix.

A good feature but needs to be optional and surely not needed on every page

I totally agree with Rebecca and have the same issues.
The print date is extreemly imortant to maintain the integrity of the reports - once it can be altered then this integrity is lost as the reader has no idea at what stage of the Accounting and Business cycle the report was published.
Worse still you can never be confident which version of the report you are using/making available.
This should be a "switch on/off" when the report is run and should not be able to be changed!

I guess a lot of commenters on here are in accounting practices? but as a corporate user maybe my needs are different?
Audit trails are not only external they are for internal purposes as well.
I don't publish all reports I run (who does that?? Geez I'd have millions of them) as they are workpapers, which I write all over & therefore need date & time stamps for the different versions.
Yes I know you can edit & add a date onto pdfs but
A) it takes more time than writing &
B) it should be done automatically by the softwareHave noticed there are dates on some reports now but not all, so I guess that's a start.
Date & time stamp is required for all reports not just financial statements or published ones! Please :)My pet peeve is that I can't just print a report, I have to pdf it, & that takes extra steps for every report I run, which is time wasted.
I don't want a pdf of every report, every time!
There used to be a print button, which didn't really work, & instead of fixing it, now it's gone completely. -

Our poor typist having to remove the date from each page now. Tick box option please.

This needs to be changed to a tick box option, to toggle on and off. Some accounts are not signed by clients for weeks even months, now this adds more work to have to remove this from every page when producing annual reports. Why would we say this is for Audit purposes when it can be amended changed and removed at any point?
-
Stephen Chard commented
Can it please be changed to an option to include on the Publish section? The "date run" is within the report page itself which for audit trail purposes is more reliable than an editable date on the report it self.

For everyone saying this is for Audit Trail purposes... someone can just change the date on the PDF report and fake it. Terrible "Audit Trail".

So we've always had a Date Published in the Published section of Reports... now we have a meaningless date in the footer of financial reports that we can't choose whether to show or not. Thanks...

Yes please, can we make this happen? thanks

Yes a critical feature please

Hello,
I can see the date & time stamps issue are not resolved. Could you please add this to all the reports? This is critical for the audit trail.
Thank you. -

Definitely an important and critical part of a report.
