AU Payroll - Leave requests for part time workers that dont work standard hours
When multiple days are requested the ability to adjust the hours for leave application so it matches the ordinary hours for particularly days.

Thanks for your feedback and interest in the idea here. We appreciate the desire for being able to enable employees to make these changes themselves.
While this is something the team will continually review as they keep developing Payroll for Australia, we want to be open that this is not in the direct plans atm.
If there are any changes or progress for developing this we'll be sure to come back and update you on this, here.

Currently, when a PPT employee takes leave, the hours that Xero populates the leave for is based on a convoluted calculation that makes no sense & never works out to be correct. I know you can override these hours, but it would be great to have the option somewhere to specify the hours/day an employee works so that if you enter a day's leave, it calculates the hours as equivalent to a normal day's working hours.

My business is doing the 4 day work week (8 hrs per day mon-thu) and this is crucial for us to be able to manage our employee leave. It currently thinks a day of leave is 6.4 hrs (32/5) and cannot account for the fact that we don't work on fridays and so leave should not be applied on those days. I thought of a hack of creating my own holiday calendar to handle the friday thing but the 6.4 hours per day problem still remains.

This is a no brainer and is an absolute necessity

This has been requested by so many people in different threads - it's a really fundamental function, that Xero needs to address. It affects annual leave requests and public holidays, and is very time consuming having to do it manually for all staff.

Agree that this should be standard and don't see how it is not already included as a feature. The discussion forums have dozens of requests for guidance on how to set standard hours for part time staff with the only responses being that you need to do it manually. There is a flow on affect to leave requests and public holidays which I have just experienced for the first time and hopefully the last! In my example we have a staff member that works Mon, Wed, Fri and there should be the ability to record this as a default

Fully agree with all the comments below. This feature needs to be added as it the issue it causes is very time consuming...

This is a very time-consuming problem. Other competing software's have this feature, so with Xero being the "Innovators" it would be great to see this feature added.

This is a very good idea

Xero me App automatically puts in 8 hrs for one day, This default setting should be able to be changed, as we are constantly finding leave requests are incorrect, and need to be adjusted, creating too much work.

Agreed - a way to auto - calculate a part time employees leave would be very beneficial.

This should be standard

For salary part time workers we need the option to record their default days of the week and how many hours they work on those days.
We currently have to manually change the hours on all leave requests for part time employees as Xero divides their weekly hours by 5 and calculates that is how much they work per day. This also means that Xero can't calculate public holidays correctly for part time employees and it needs to be manually changed each time.

For businesses using monthly payroll Xero is auto generating strange hours for leave days, sometimes this is 7.1429 hours. The staff work 7.5 hour days.
Please add a field where we can enter the correct default work hours rather than making us edit every single leave application to adjust to the correct hours. -

Fully agree with these comments. Xero calculates the leave accruals pro-rata, but then when employees submit leave requests, it pro-ratas the request by the hours in a leave request is calculated by the number of hours in a full pay period, divided by the number of business days in the pay period. For example, 38 hours in a week, divided by 5 working days. But all my part time employees work full days and have non-working days, so it needs to reflect 7.6 hours per day of leave requested - we shouldn't have to manually over-ride this every time. An easy option would be to set up a standard roster per employee, and it calculates the leave request based on that.

Even a simple hours per standard shift would help. If an employee doesn't work a full week, eg when there's a public holiday, hours for every pay type for every employee have to be adjusted

Be able to change hours to show 75 hours as FTE or 37.5 per week, rather than 76 hours FTE/38 hours per week, when entering in the different leave types for a new staff member.

Allow for customisation of default leave, so when I assign new employee default leave.. it pops up with my edited preference for standard hours worked per week, and amount of accrued leave per year.

This would be fixed with the work pattern idea in another request. This needs to be done ASAP.

This is critical. I have spent a lot of time working through with my clients employees whom are part-time how to try and raise appropriate leave requests. It is currently very time consuming and non user friendly. If they had the ability to adjust the hours they wanted in their leave request it would solve the issue.
