Repeating Invoice - Add dynamic dates to the repeated invoices
As it stands the "template" is largely superficial, whereas a template should be meaningful.
When I think of invoice templates, I think: unit prices, quantities, etc... much like your "repeated invoices" except the repeated invoices don't include dynamic dates. Monthly billing for a team is a nightmare.
So either expand the templates to include meaningful features, or add dynamic dates to the repeated invoices. Preferably the second option so I don't have to constantly rebuild invoices for my team.

We are stuck running our direct debit on the 20th of every month because of this. It doesn't matter whether I'm on holiday or it's the weekend, it has to be the 20th because we can't select "the last Friday" (or similar) for our repeating invoices.
If we don't sort the direct debit at this time, then customers start receiving invoice reminders (when they shouldn't) because there is no way to turn those off for specific repeating invoice templates paid by direct debit.
More and more businesses are running on similar subscription models, yet Xero are still in the dark ages.

Repeating invoices desperately needs the option to invoice on the last day of the month. That's possible to do if you create or save an invoice in a month with 31 days, as for the other months, it adjusts automatically. But, if you create or save a repeating invoice that will next run on a month with 30 days or in Feb, you have to remember to reset the invoice date next month.
Come on, surely this is another basic feature that needs attention as a priority to all the other development work that users don't need. Let's get the basics right and your customers happy, then consider making often just cosmetic changes.

is this ever going to happen?

Yes please!! I invoice rentals monthly based on the number of days per month.... what I wouldn't give to be able to set the quantity to [days in current month] !!

needs to be an option

Repeated bill place holder should allow us to set for next month in Reference & Descriptions fields.
The current place holder [month] will pick up current month. We need flexibility to set [month+1].

100% should be an option. Takes away the efficiencies gained with repeating invoices having to manually update the next invoice date

Great suggestion Darren! I have exactly the same problem and it's a pain to have to remember to go in and change the date in the next month when there are so many other more important things to do with my time. I would definitely back a "last day of the month" option. Xero it can't be that difficult or time-consuming to add.

Yes please add the ability to specify frequency in days as well as months / years.
Eg many local authorities who have a 28 day billing cycle
Shopify has a 30 day billing cycle
We have to set the bills to repeat monthly and then amend the date each time, which is a right pain and a really obvious request to have this option please. -

If [Day] was available as a placeholder, then we'd be able to use something approximating [Day-1] [Month-1] to get the right reference for a recurring invoice scheduled to create itself on the first of every month.
But it's not.

A last date of month placeholder. For invoices 1st to last day of the month. We are using 1 [month] to 31 [month] [year] but then need to edit to 30/28 depending on the month.

Repeating Invoices - randomly "sorted" within a date. We have clients who deal with a number of sites, and also within those sites are multiple invoices. When putting a date for repeated invoices, appearance on the list is random and not grouped in any logical way. To get round this we have to assign different repeat dates for specific clients and/or sites. Then, "prepare" the invoices by choosing an invoice we want to start with and saving today's date - then going back once the invoice number has been assigned, and changing the date to what it should be.

please set up a function where we can also select an invoice to be 1st day or last day of month (rather than selecting date eg 1st May or 31st May).
if i have invoice set up for 31 May 2023 for example, and i amend it in February, it automatically makes invoice date 28th of every following month. i need to remember to go back and change it once another month comes about.
this throws the whole invoicing system out.

Yes - Please include some flexibility in these fields. - Last day of the Month, third Tuesday of the month, 2nd Friday of the Month, every Tuesday. Not Date specific but Day specific.
Thanks -

Agree. We have many bills issued on the last day of the month and have to create them on 28th as drafts and amend them to the appropriate day - only right 3 years out of four so very inefficient.

We use Xero repeating invoices for Eazipay to collect a substantial number of our customer payments by direct debit. The invoices generated through xero are set as repeating however, ther eis not a feature that allows the repeating invoices to be set to last working day of the month. It would be beneficial if Xero allowed the option of a feature to set a due date as the last working day of the month, which would ensure payments reach us the last working day opposed to the next working day.
