Hi everyone, we thoroughly appreciate all the feedback we've heard from our customers on their use of the Xero network and the importance this is for helping you move efficiently when using new invoicing. Where possible we highly encourage setting up and using eInvoicing as a solution which is wider reaching than just those businesses on Xero, and has more functionality.
In it's current state you can continue to send invoices using the Xero Network from the Awaiting payments list. That said, we've been listening closely and our product team are now considering development to incorporate sending invoices from Xero to Xero within new invoicing, as well as developing on this feature to enable attachments to be included when sending. We'll shift the idea to Under review for now and I'll share as there is more progression of this to update you on.

This is madness. Xero are slowly and painfully alienating all their customers and will then be surprised that they go elsewhere.

Hi community, thanks for sharing how we can improve Hubdoc for your business. While we'll continue to review and consider these sort of integrations overtime, we want to open that we don't have plans to integrate Hubdoc with Onedrive at this time. If there is any change or progress to share around this, we'll return to let you all know on this idea.

Hi everyone, completely appreciate wanting to hear from us on the idea here. Having checked in with our product team we totally get the interest in this idea and creating more consistency between quotes and invoices in Xero.
While we'd like to take a closer look into this down the line, we want to be upfront that there's other work that the team are drawn to atm as a priority and creating a shareable link for a quote is not planned at this stage.
It's definitely on the teams radar and we're keeping an eye on the feedback here, as soon as there's any news to share I'll be sure to update you on this, here.Neil Jordan

Hi everyone, some time on since my last update I wanted to give you more of an idea of the work we have going on to help reduce the number of steps and actions in new invoicing. Along with the changes mentioned in my last update, we've since released a change to the view of an invoice to shift details back into their own columns (similar to classic), while a small change we know it's improved visibility for some of our customers.
We also have other work in development atm that’ll further help here like a new line item grid when editing your invoice - wrapped up in this we’ll be introducing changes you’ve been asking for like the ability to create a new tracking option or account code without having to navigate away from the invoice, we’re increasing the number of items that you can view from the drop…

Back in Feb 2023 when Sukhinder Singh Cassidy became the new CEO at Xero, she emailed everyone "A personal note to say hello". In that she wrote:
"There is always room for improvement and we’d love to hear from you about how we can make Xero even better, together. You can always keep updated about what’s happening with Xero on the Xero Blog."I did email her at the time asking for us all to be actually listened to and pointing out how many basic suggestions were on here which are important to us are never dealt with, in preference to development that isn't really important, including one back from 2015 about automatically sending statements.
I didn't get a response, but I presume that email address may still be active. So I guess, "reach out" and "be vocal" :)

Repeating invoices desperately needs the option to invoice on the last day of the month. That's possible to do if you create or save an invoice in a month with 31 days, as for the other months, it adjusts automatically. But, if you create or save a repeating invoice that will next run on a month with 30 days or in Feb, you have to remember to reset the invoice date next month.
Come on, surely this is another basic feature that needs attention as a priority to all the other development work that users don't need. Let's get the basics right and your customers happy, then consider making often just cosmetic changes.

Hi everyone, totally get wanting to get an update from us on the idea here. Having a fair amount of interest from users I can say that Quote reminders are defintiely on the teams radar, however with current focus largely on new invoicing we do not have any immediate plans for this in the next 6 months.
I can assure you, though we mightn't be able to provide updates as frequently as you'd like to see, our product teams are heavily involved in the forums here and our community team often connect to share trends, discuss developments and externally communicate changes that are coming across Xero products. It's important to us to continue developing Xero to streamline payments and help our customers get paid sooner, and your idea here does sit in this realm.

Thanks for your support on the idea, everyone. We thoroughly appreciate your participation, and letting us know where you'd like to see change across Xero.
Customer statements, is an area of Xero that needs upgrades to it's technology in order to make ideas like this one here possible.
Currently, while we have plans for modernising this space soon we cannot commit to any new developments for Statements until this work has been complete. Once this has been done I'll round back to the idea here when we can reset the objectives.

407 votesThanks for all your feedback here, everyone. The way you add description only lines in new invoicing is a little different to classic and we wanted to explain in hopes it'll help with how you're using new invoicing.
When entering a description only line, you can enter text in the description field of the line. If you add detail to any other field the line will be treated as a 'financial' line and you will need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax rate.
When an inventory item is added this uses the item code field and the line is treated as 'financial', so it's not possible to use inventory items as description only lines in new invoicing atm.
We appreciate this is how many of you here have been making use of inventory and our product team are closely monitoring the feedback we're getting on this. Though we don't…Neil Jordan

Hi everyone, leading on from my last update we have now released improvements to eInvoicing for those in the UK! With the latest change you'll now find we've made it easier for you to opt-in to receive your Xero subscription bill via eInvoicing. You can now do this from your online invoice (My Bills page) instead of through the Billing contact page. Helping save you time and reduce manual data entry every month.😁
We understand there are other regions that'd still like to see this functionality developed and we'll shift back to submitted and share when there is news of moving this further afield.
We also wanted to address the recent comment of data sharing - We'd like to confirm that Xero do not share data with Peppol.com. We use the Peppol network and the subscription invoices are sent using our wholly owned provider, Tickstar.Neil Jordan

We appreciate wanting to see more rapid movement, everyone. Having done a lot of exploration into this area our team have a good handle on the needs to solve this, however we want to be honest that development will be some time away with the team currently focused on improving bills list views and updating add/edit bill pages. For the time being to keep you up to date we're going to move this idea back to Submitted until more active work takes place for this.
I can assure you this idea is the best place to be leaving feedback for this feature, and Xero Product Ideas as a whole is the best place to be sharing where you'd like to see change across Xero products. As a community team we're advocating on your behalf constantly to see where ideas can be worked on, and this site is where our product…

I raised a support case about this in the first instance and was told the following, which goes against the statement by Xero here. Who are we to believe? Why is Xero so dysfunctional and seemingly intent on alienating their paying customers?
"It is currently not possible to send an invoice via the Xero to Xero network key directly from new invoicing.
While it will not be possible to send Xero to Xero invoices from the new invoicing creation screen, we are actively developing an enhanced Xero to Xero experience for our customers.
In the meantime, you can continue to use classic invoicing for Xero to Xero invoicing until it is retired on 20 Nov 2024.
