Reconciliation - Xero subscription invoice to be added automatically to xero for reconciliation
This should be automatically added to your account, rather than having to save to Xero manually each month
Hi everyone, leading on from my last update we have now released improvements to eInvoicing for those in the UK! With the latest change you'll now find we've made it easier for you to opt-in to receive your Xero subscription bill via eInvoicing. You can now do this from your online invoice (My Bills page) instead of through the Billing contact page. Helping save you time and reduce manual data entry every month.😁
We understand there are other regions that'd still like to see this functionality developed and we'll shift back to submitted and share when there is news of moving this further afield.
We also wanted to address the recent comment of data sharing - We'd like to confirm that Xero do not share data with Peppol.com. We use the Peppol network and the subscription invoices are sent using our wholly owned provider, Tickstar.

Please please please please
tick your box to add a pdf to the email with the invoice.
thats it.We all have to do it for our customers - please do it for us.
I do not want to sign up to another outside source.
I would just like to have our pdf invoice attached to the email so I can forward the email to my xero draft bills. That is all.
Please do this - tick your box.
thank you

Why does this appear to use a 3rd party and in their privacy policy they state "Where relevant, we may disclose or transfer your personal data to affiliates, vendors, business partners or other collaborators for business purposes."
https://peppol.com/about-peppol-com/privacy-policy/What data is shared with them, and why can't Xero manage to add thier own invoice into their own platform without a 3rd party?

Thanks for sharing the Xero Central link, Andy.
@Benjamin, the section on 'Receive your Xero subscription invoices via eInvoicing' has the step by step that should help you set this up 😊

Afer much searching, I found that there are now instructions on how to do this in Xero help:

Great to hear this is now available in the UK, I can't see a 'Receive Xero subscription bills as einvoices' option in my billing settings.
Can you give a bit more clarity on where this should be located please?

It drives me mad that I have to hunt high and low for the Xero invoice for my subscription every month! It is not in a very user friendly place and seems to be complicated to find. Please look into making this more simple

Thanks for the update, @Ethan M.
Please note that as of this date, all three pages you linked with instructions show instructions for NZ - the URL coding implies that there should be a slightly different one for Australia, where I am (I assume that I can sub ABN for NZBN without changing anything substantial)

@Michael Welbourne, I'm with you on this - only the subscriber can opt in to receive the bills? This means that I get to walk infinite clients through the process of doing this for me, or make my boss use their valuable time to do it for ALL the company's clients, individually. And if it's not going to land in Drafts without further input from the subscriber, then this has to happen EVERY MONTH.
We have better things to do.

It would be nice if the Xero's own bills can be sent straight to Bills payable.

To add Xero's own invoice into Draft invoices is such a faff. The MAIN SUBSCIBER has to:
Choose Subscription and Billing
Click on Manage Subscription (not very intuitive when looking for an invoice)
Once in My Xero you click on Billing Accounts
You then have to click on the three tiny dots on the right
Choose View Invoices
Click on the invoice (you are now in tab number 4)
Go to Log in to save invoice as a bill - Log in???!?!?! It's an off-putting choice seeing as you are already logged in.Can't it just go straight in as a Draft Invoices, and on the fairly rare occasion it's not going to be processed by the company that the subscription is for then the draft invoice could be deleted?

Each month you email me to let me know my Xero invoice is ready. I then have to click the link, download the invoice in pdf, then email it to the Xero portal so I can import it in Xero and add it to a bill.
Why not just email the invoice to my portal so it is ready for me to add and approve there - saving me 5 minutes per month.

Done, will have to wait til next month to see how it lands

its the excel version of this subscription invoice that needs to go into xero not just the summarised lines, that way the costs can be allocated to clients rather than having to add invoices as pricing changes etc please.

Just emailing a PDF would be a good start! And giving me the option of choosing the email(s) it goes to, so I can cc my draft bills email address, Hubdoc or Datamolino.

Why only for AU, NZ and Singapore? Did your U.S. and other international clients to something that would cause you to exclude us?

While automatically adding the subscription invoice details into the Xero the invoice should also be added into the HubDoc system also. Having to manually add these into a system that is looking to minimize the workload on staff is counter intuitive. Also finding the Xero Subscription invoices without any of the emails is an adventure in frustration as well. They could just email the PDF of the invoice then people could attach rules in email handling to automatically process.

Yes, I agree, would be really great to get the Xero subscription invoices via eInvoicing.

Xero could use their own feature, and send their bills to their Xero subscribers through the Xero Network Key.
That would save everyone from having to check My Xero > Billing Accounts > ... > View invoices > click on the invoice > Save to... Xero each month, for each billing account, and for each customer with their own subscription. Just to press the "Save to Xero" button.
Alternatively, if at least a pdf invoice was emailed, that would at least make it like any other bill, and save that browsing.

@Ian and @Amanda - my interpretation of Kelly's note is that Xero is going to use the exiting eInvoice platform (using the Peppol standard) to deliver the invoices to their customers (which I think is a great way of doing it as most of the functionality already exists in Xero, and also promotes eInvoicing more widely by getting more people to use it).
@Amanda - while the US has a Peppol access point there are no certifying US authorities for Peppol, which means that the US is lagging behind most other developed countries in implementing eInvoicing. I'm guessing Xero will wait for the US to catch up before they offer this service, otherwise they'd have to develop a specific eInvoicing service just for the US. AU, NZ and Singapore are all on the Peppol network.

What about this being worked on to roll out to US customers as well?
