Contacts - Show attachments for transactions in the contact overview
Under the Contact, where Xero shows the current account balance and further down the screen we can see all invoices etc for that contact. When I scroll down the list of invoices I'd love to be able to see a little icon that tells me how many files I have uploaded to each invoice. The only way to tell currently is if I click into each invoice and then I can see the number of files attached per the little file icon at the top.

We're grateful for your engagement and letting us know the changes that matter to you.
While we don't have immediate plans for adding a file icon indicator to the Contact Activity list we're tracking the interest from our community here and will share if there are any updates planned. Thanks

Wow! "We don't have immediate plans"....
Why the **** did you remove the attachment links that were there in the first place?
Now, to see the actual bill that we received (or to see if we even had one) I have to go into every bill and check individually.
No excuse - the coding to change this back to how it should be would be minimal..

I asked for the functionality of seeing an file/doc attachment on the Contacts Transactions List. This is very useful because we can easily focus on a contact's transaction history and see whether document are attached. For example, if the contact is a utility company, see the file icon will ensure a copy of the bill is attached. Convenient for checking and auditing too.

Excellent suggestion this would be extremely useful

Under contacts, instead of the create draft invoice icon, please go back to having icon to view attached source document. It is really annoying and time consuming to having to go back into Payables and find the invoice to see the original bill or to even see if a bill is attached.

How I see this working is that if you use the contact to view suppliers and there is a list of transactions and the transaction has an attachment of the original bill it would be really helpful to be able to view from contacts transactions line as well rather than clicking the transaction, opening it in bills and then click the attachment. I see it working like when you are in bills and you click on the attached bill on the side and it opens up in a window to the left of the screen and the list is now on the right.

Under the previous Contact view, there was a book icon to show if there was an attachment to a bill. Now there is an icon to allow copy bill to draft bill. I can't imagine any time I would use this, but value being able to see if a bill has an attachment. I have to open the bill now to find if there is an attachment or go back to the Purchases section and create a report there.

I agree, this icon is confusing. It would be very useful if we could view the files attached to a bill/invoice from the contact screen.

In the new contacts view, bills and invoices have an icon on the far right that is a shortcut button for "copy to a new draft". This icon is in the same place and is similar to the icon that indicates files are attached to the bill on the new bills page (files attached is one rectangle, draft a copy is two piled squares).
If I can only have one, I would prefer to have an icon for files attached, since I would want to check the details of an invoice or bill before I copy it, and it's a tedious process to check whether I've attached files to the relevant bill or invoice before I delete the file off my computer. But if the duplicate button is useful to someone, then we should have both.

This is extremely critical to an association where attachments need to be provided for the auditor. When transactions are processed direct from bank feeds (ie not processed as an invoice) the attachment is not always available at the time of processing to add then.
So, it's very difficult and extremely time consuming to have to view each transaction to check.
I would appreciated Xero adding this to their programming. -

Contact Account - can you show the attachment icon/and link against each transaction (similar to the vat return summary)
IE - if there is a 'spend money' transaction can there be an icon to show that there is an attachment linked to that transaction?

When you go into a contact, you can see items that are outstanding and what has been paid, but it would be good if there was the 'pdf' icon against the transaction in this screen rather than having to view the item to see the document.
