Login - Account Settings - Log in to - BUG FIX
Please fix the Account setting for the Log in to preference so that it works as advertised.
Currently the option to log in to "The organisation I was last in" does NOT work as advertised. It will log me in to a seeminly random organisation from the list of my organisations.
I believe that it is logging me into the "Last organisation that ANYONE was in"
Hi Andrew, have you come into our Xero Support team about this? This setting is at a user level so should be based on the last organisation you were in.
It would be good for our specialists to take a deeper look into this with you to determine what's going on. If not already could you please raise a case through Xero Central.

I have found this too - when I log in for the day, I start in the datafile that was the most recently opened of all the datafiles in the business that I have access to. I am often baffled that a co-worker is listed as the person most recently in a particular datafile when they have no reason to access that datafile as it's not currently one of their clients (although it has been in the past, and they still have access so that I have backup if necessary in an emergency). Fortunately my boss is diligent about restricting access only to people with a need to have it (so people actively working with datafiles and their emergency backup people), so it's not every day that I find I'm in a datafile that I wasn't in the previous day and is not on my schedule for working in that day, but it does throw the audit trail off to have people showing as accessing the datafile when they aren't intending to do work in that file.

Hi XERO. Agree with Andrew. Attached is a post on XERO Partners Page. Other users are having the same issues as Andrew reported.
I have gotten around this by setting up a login for XERO HQ clients. However, it doesn't fix the issue Andrew has explained.
This is a real issue; we should not randomly log into files for no apparent reason. It is a security risk to partners and their staff. Please fix.
Example: A hacker compromised an XERO file. History shows the XERO partner was logged in simultaneously, as this setting/function doesn't work. Would that be our comeback for this?
This should be an urgent fix for all Partners concerned.

Hi Kelly, Many many cases have been logged to support regarding this issue. It only attracts a cut and paste response of how to log in to xero.
Hopefully, someone is noticing Product Ideas more than support calls.
Anyway. Call logged. Feel free to monitor progress. CX0015019464Yep. Response as expected
Hi Andrew
Thanks for letting us know about the issue you're experiencing where an unexpected organisation opens when logging into Xero.
We’ve logged this with our product team who have assessed and prioritised this accordingly. We’re currently unable to provide a timeframe as to when any changes may be made, however it will be taken into consideration for future developments in Xero.
Kind regards
