New invoicing copy and merge
In old invoicing, when you used Copy and Merge into a new invoice, it kept each of the original invoice's items together in order, including the first line description. In the new Invoicing, it groups together all of the like items from each invoice which is incorrect. This needs to be addressed.

Hi Lisa, it'd be good to get a closer look at some of the invoices you've copied and merged from and to, so we can get a better look at what's going on for you here.
I've just tested creating invoices with Copy and merge from the list view using the same inventory items, however these are created as separate lines on the new draft invoice.
If you can raise a case with our team of specialists through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of this page, they can get more detail to investigate and confirm.

I raised a case with Xero support and had a telephone conversation with Mark - when I copy & merge from draft invoices uploaded by csv the new invoice doesn't populate. I have to copy to a new draft invoice before merging doubling the workload. Apparently, as there is a workaround this isn't important.

kelly , this is beyond a joke. i messaged you about 5 months ago about this same issue ,
you replied saying you knew about it and it would be sorted before classic got deleted
so you lied problem still not fixed , do you even care about the issues you have caused for your customers with this unusable system, or is xero another corp who only cares about lining their pockets -

You will see that 'merged' Inv 6230 (old invoice version) correctly shows the first line of the original invoices (6227 and 6228) so that you can see the charges for each job listed under the first line description. But 'merged' Inv 6229 using the new version of invoicing completely misses the first line of the original invoices,so there's no way to know what the costs relate to.
