  1. Since the new quote format was launched, we are no longer to insert a blank line in our quotes at the beginning of a new item. Previously, this allowed us to space out the quote a little so it didnt look too jumbled and allowed us to space the quote neatly over two pages instead of just having a line of a quote on the second page if it didnt all quite fit on the first. Please put it back to how it was and allow us to insert blank lines at the beggining of an item.

    Hi all, upon revisiting here we'll re-open this idea. 


    As you may have found - While possible to add a new line and drag & drop this to where you'd like it to sit in a quote. Once saved, blank lines that have no data in any field will disappear and lines with detail will condense. 

    Apologies for the earlier misunderstanding and we appreciate those who've feedback on the idea here too. 


    There aren't any direct plans for changing this behaviour for now. We have a keen eye on the interest here so please add your support through votes and importance. 


    For the time being, if you'd like to add a blank line in your quote you'll need to enter a character in the description field of the line - This could just be a hyphen or full stop 

  2. Project invoicing to show time in minutes/hours for time entries
    This is a requirement of many of our customers. Eg time sent 30 mins shows as 0.5 on invoice. We need a column that shows time for the task time enry. At present we need to manually type 30 mins in the task description to meet customer invoicing requirements.

  3. There is a weird issue when entering in text in the 'Descripton' box in a Quote.

    Once the text is entered if you then leave the description box and then click back into it, all the text in that field is highlighted.

    This is a little problem when you want to delete one character as it deletes the whole text.

    If you Control V the text back....it hasn't copied the text to put it back in.
    So, you lose all the text entered.

    I understand you can click a few times to stop it highlighting the whole text.

  4. I would like to be able to run a report on expense claims which shows who has approved them at a glance, like a payable invoice report . At the moment, you have to open each and every claim to see who has approved it.

  5. Ability to filter draft invoices by Contact Groups.
    We have a large number of customers who are moving toward shared accounting services (ie: centralised payment of our invoices). It would be great to be able to filter draft invoices by the Contact Group, or at the very least be able to see the contact group with the customer name on the draft invoice screen

  7. i recently got a new phone and all its photos are saved as HEIC format however everytime i forward this type of image to xero for bill forwarding it fails as xero doesn't recognise the format.

    can you please update file formats asap as all newer mobile devices are moving to HEIC as it is a higher quality file and a smaller size overall, and samsung i found out do not offer an auto change of file before forwarding so it will not be easy to convert back to a jpg or png etc. before sending receipts to Xero

  8. Xero should add "Add Note" to Expense Claim just like we have it on Bills to pay. This would be helpful for requesters to provide additional information or make comment on their payment requests. Thank you.

  10. It would be nice if expenses could learn and assign a specific account automatically to expenses from a regular supplier.

    The process could be:
    1) I take a photo of a receipt
    2) The analyse feature reads the receipt and fills in the date, supplier and amount

    THE NEW BIT:
    3) Expeses realises this is a supplier I've analysed a receipt from recently and codes it to the account I coded it to last time

  11. I generate invoices from the Xero app. Quick and easy. I would like to generate a receipt from my iPhone app as well after a customer has paid. At present you can only do this via the website.

  12. Please add a setting option or a column for display details about "Account" in the table shown in "Bills to pay" instead of only showing "Ref" which the information of "Account" is important and moreover we don't need to waste time to entry "Ref" for checking.

  13. I would be good to be able to carry out data analysis of each nominal code and therefore group the account transactions by month with totals rather than by week which will ultimately tie back to the P&L. This would make it useful when carrying out data analysis from the P&L.

    Hi Kate, not sure I understand your ask here - is this within the Profit & Loss report, or is there another report you're running that you want to link back to the Profit & Loss report that is currently grouped on a weekly basis? 

  14. Ability to send Suppliers a Unique Email that sends invoices directly to Bills to Pay, rather than them send them to our business email address and we forward via Dext Email as we are now, Saving time when multiple Suppliers send Invoices and we then have to forward them on,

  15. We need to be able to create a service docket via the Mobile app so that service crew can create and issue a service/delivery docket to customers when they are out doing the service. The packing slip option is not available apparently and, besides, its not the right name for what we do.

  16. It would be great to have a way of linking expenses on a project to an individual task so your invoices and quotes are much more streamlined and broken down into the tasks (especially when working on larger projects with many tasks and expenses)

    Something along the line of:
    when entering an estimated expense/expense into the project as well as having all the current tabs, having a another tab to 'assign to task' . When generating a quote/invoice you will then only have the task name and it will have combined the hours and materials listed.

  19. The new (as of July 2023) FedNow system is going to allow bill/account/request payments at a nominal fee in the United States. Are there any plans by Xero to add native support for this network?

    1. There should be an option so that we can arrange bills/invoices according to suppliers /customers when processing bills/invoices just like in dext .And next option should be included in both archive and during processing bills/invoices.
    2. Split and merge option should be included when processing bills/invoices. 3 There should be a filter for credit note, overpayment and prepayment in archive invoices.
