  2. Add reference field for project.
    We do a lot of project work. Our clients will generally have a tender or contract number associated with the project. I need to include this number on all invoices related to the project.

    It would be great to have an optional reference field for each project that, if not blank, would automatically populate the reference field for every invoice created.

  3. From the Files Inbox, there is a way to attach the file to a NEW transaction, but please allow it to be attached to an existing transaction too. This is especially useful when there are lots of files in the Inbox.

    Appreciate why you'd like to be able to attach a file to an existing transaction from the detail you've shared here, Hitesh.

    This isn't possible from the Files inbox atm, however as you may already be across - from the flip side you can attach a file from the Files inbox from within the transaction.

    Do get this means having to go to the transaction to perform what you're asking and we'll get a sense of the interest in being able to attach to an existing transaction from within the Files inbox, here.

  4. e-invoicing notification

    It would be great if we could get some kind of notification when an e-invoice was received into draft. Without going into our process, not knowing when a e-invoice was received will cause delays in processing as well as paying it.

Currently there is the inability to edit one payment in a batch deposit that was created from the Reconcile screen without dismantling the entire batch (with Unreconcile, and then Remove and Redo). If the batch Deposit is created from the Invoice screen and one line item needs adjusting, we have and option to Edit Batch. This allows for removing one line item of the batch but preserves the remainder of the batch (less the removed line item).     Appreciate the feedback and including a screenshot of the notifications you're getting on the invoice, Andrew. Just to make sure I fully understand your idea here - Are you saying that rather than seeing the pop up you'd like to have these added as history events to the invoice?

  8. When I am in the Contact field and update the Contact and click Tab, the cursor moves from the Contact field to the Issue Date field and highlights the date in the Issue Date field.
    After I update the date in the Issue Date field and click Tab, the cursor moves from the Issue Date field to the Due Date field, momentarily highlights the date in the Due Date field and then immediately moves the cursor to the end of the date.

  9. The button to view attachments was at the top of the page in classic invoicing but is at the bottom in new invoicing. Our sales transactions are imported from our point of sales software via API. Every sales invoice has an attachment and we now have to pointlessly scroll down to the bottom of every invoice before we can view the underlying report. Please put the attachment button back in an accessible place!

  10. please remove ACTION column under bills tab - don't push your products on your customers. It is a real turn off. The check mark under the column is greyed out. Let your customers remove please. Right now it isn't possible.

  12. Currently Xero offers PayTo as a way for customers to pay their invoices. However, the screen can be confusing. E.g some customers think they need to enter the bank details of who they are paying, rather than entering their own bank account details.
    Is there a way we can make the screen easier for customers to understand. See attached screenshot of the way it appears currently.

  15. Xero has a fairly good process for bill submission and approval. We have staff members submit bills to finance for approval, and it works very well.

    However, sometimes staff make mistakes. In Xero, there is no option to decline a bill? Or to kick a submitted bill back to submitter for editing? What's the point of an approval process if you can only approve or delete? That doesn't make sense to me.

  17. The Dashboard has been used as an advertising medium lately as well as a messaging medium informing users about Xero's latest acquisition or some new feature they want users to know about.

    The dashboard is a useful feature but distractions on the dashboard kill my productivity. Also, Xero have existing ways to communicate with users (email, xero messages/notifications, community forum, Xero blog etc etc) - they should leave the Dashboard for business use.

  18. When preparing monthly CIS returns on xero you need to create a bill for the subcontractor and reconcile/mark the bill as paid. When you have clients that have on average 80 to 120 subcontractors the bill creation even with a bill template can be time consuming.
    Something to consider is whether creating a bill could be removed from this process and the CIS return be prepared simply from a spend money to a CIS enable contact.
    Also something else that can be time consuming when dealing with this volume of subcontractors is downloading the monthly CIS payment certificates as clients…

    Purpose: Internal colleagues or stakeholders allows for a clear record of who received the statement and the context of the communication.

    Thanks for sharing in product ideas 🙏, as you may have noticed with invoices it is possible to cc and Bcc for sending individual invoices at present. As we continue to build out the Sales experience this may be something we look to expand to other areas of Xero, like Statements.
