    Hello everyone, we understand that being able to automatically assign tracking categories to users for their expense claims would be a huge benefit, saving you time and ensuring accurate reporting. 📈

    We've heard your suggestions we're continuing to monitor the interest in this idea, but it's not on our current development roadmap. We'll be sure to update you here if anything changes in the future. 👋


  2. When I invoice my client for expenses our staff have incurred which they have tagged as reimbursable by the client using the "billable expenses" feature, add the receipts attached to the items I am billing to the invoice. All clients expect the receipts to be attached and they are all in Xero, at the moment I have to laboriously manage them separately.

  3. When allocating a credit note, either an invoice or bill, be able to set a date for the application, rather than defaulting to the date the credit note was created as it will fail occasionally when using lock dates.

    Hi all, we appreciate this feedback raised through a broader idea and would like to better understand the direct interest in this through this idea.

    While not in our roadmap atm, this is something we understand the needs in and will keep you updated if there is news to share, here.

  5. Make all features available on phone app that are available on pc / laptops.

    There’s various basic functions that cannot be done on the Xero app designed for phones. Many small business users who are on the road for work want to action expenses and invoices as they go and have the same functionality on their phone as the laptop. Features are currently missing e.g:
    - adding a discount to an invoice
    - adding a category
    - deleting a quote
    And much more. It would be great to be able to do everything on your phone.

  6. …to assign expenses, including purchase invoices and expense claims, to specific tasks within projects rather than grouping them all together.

    The purpose of this is to gain a better overview and to organize expenses based on individual tasks.

    The Project module in Business Central 365 is built in a very efficient way, and some of its simple features could be applied in Xero to give users a better overview of hours and expenses within projects — including those spent, to be invoiced, and already invoiced.

  7. Tracking Summary Report - existing (until 11 Nov 2025) report can be run by selecting specific account code. The new report (from 11 Nov 2025), can only be run by account types. We want to continue to run this report by account code. Please see the attachment for an example.

  8. Please restore Tracking Categories to a high level and intuitive menu location. It used to be two clicks away in the Business menu but is now buried under Accounting>Accounting Settings>Accounting>Tracking Categories. We use this to create job codes on a regular basis. I had to ask Grok where it had gone as your Help section couldn't tell me.
    And while you're at it make the SAVE button more obvious - you have to scroll down to see it after creating a new job code. Awful UI, not "beautiful"

  9. Time submission within xero projects is not well suited to our business. We use Jibble projects which is more feature rich for our needs. It would be great if this could be imported to xero. This would also require xero clients to be shared with Jibble.

  10. In UK, the Office of Small Business Commissioner is working on improving payment times for small businesses, via the Fair Payment Code. To obtain an award under the code, you need to submit evidence that you pay 95% of all your invoices within 30 days (for small suppliers) or 60 days (larger suppliers). Currently there is no report in Xero that reports actual days to pay per invoice. I have been using the Payable Invoice Summary report with various filters applied (Payable Invoice, Paid) and exporting it to Excel where I manually add a formula to count the days between…

  11. Title: Make Supplier Name Clickable in Draft Bills

    Description:

    When entering a draft bill in Xero, the supplier field is auto-suggested — often using AI — but it remains a plain text box. This prevents users from clicking through to the supplier’s contact record to view past bills, which is a critical step in avoiding duplicates and checking billing patterns.

    Once a bill is approved, the supplier name becomes a clickable link. But during the draft stage — when users are actively entering and verifying data — this functionality is missing.

  12. It would be help helpful to be able to edit reconciled transactions within the Xero phone application.

I have been told I can use Xero to submit quarterly returns and the final submission but I won’t be able to submit my SA return as Xero only allows Xero partners to submit SA returns using Xero. The software therefore does not fulfil my needs as I want to file my own SA return. Will Xero allow me to file my SA return ?

  15. Report which lists (chart of) accounts by their creation date. Handy to update an exported excel report based from a Xero report. It would show where updates in the existing excel report are required before updating latest figures

When will the ability to add a shortcut to the settings like "tracking category" and "Fixed Assets" to the "accounting" dropdown menu be re-activated like you could do with the old task bar, or is this another case of "we don't care about our customers bookkeeper's productivity being lost" as all the other dropdown menus appear to have all the shortcuts?

  17. When making a payment to a supplier, once paid and in the end summary screen where you can send remittance etc - it would be good to then have an option to return to the supplier list to make another payment to the next supplier.

    At the moment when clicking back button, it goes into making the same payment that has just been made which doesn't make sense, and end up having to click back 3 times to get back to the supplier list again so would make payments a lot faster.

  18. Keep invoices in awaiting approval in the same order as the main screen list when clicking 'approve and view next'. We currently sort by supplier name, but this does not apply to when approving them, they appear to be in a random order for which invoice next appears. Would save a lot of time when approving invoices especially when a large batch done.

  19. HSBC Business bank feed that updates more frequently than 24 hours in arrears. The fact that it takes more than a day for a customer payment to appear in Xero makes it hard to have effective account management.

  20. When I'm reconciling open transactions. Id love a notification if the invoice is still open before I accept the transaction. Some times we don't post payments because the invoice is still open and customers are adding to the invoice before we close it and ship it out. The issue that not knowing if the invoice is open or not. Then I accidently close the invoice and dont know that we owe a customer something. Lots of our customers make deposits before the work is done and still add to the invoice before its completed. Which is why we keep the…
