Payables report by planned date
Hi Guys,
Is there an option for us to general a payable report by the planned date?
1 voteHi Kai, you can run the Payable Invoice Summary report which has the ability to include Planned Date as a column, or you can also choose to group by this field if you'd prefer - Does this achieve what you're in need of here?

Expense Claims Date of Entry Retention
When entering expense claims, the program should be set to retain the date entered in the last expense claim item. When catching up on accounting, it is cumbersome to be working on July in December and have to go back and change the entire date for each entry. I should be able to retain the last entry date on the next and simply be able to edit the day.

Changing VAT code on paid supplier invoices
It would save a lot of time if it would be possible to edit the VAT code on paid and reconcilled invoices, just like you can change the nominal code. The VAT return is done at the end of each quarter, which means that the majority of invoices and expenses have been paid, by the time you are running your VAT return and double checking that all invoices and expenses have been correctly coded for VAT. At the moment, if an item is miscoded I need to go to that item, unreconcile the paymemt, go back to the item and…

GST period settings - Allow for non-standard periods
When a client changes their GST taxable periods (e.g. 2-monthly to 6-monthly filing) they often need to file a return for a non-standard number of months to align with their balance date (e.g. 4-month GST return). It would be nice to be able to change the GST period settings in Xero to allow for the non-standard GST return to be filed directly from Xero.

Batch Email
When creating invoices there should be a box that when ticked adds the invoice to an email cue. So that at the end of the day you can send the invoices you made and ticked that day to customers. It's really annoying having the invoices separated into several different sections and then having to go and select each individual customer to then send the emails to.

Sales invoices - hold selection when navigating pages
It would be great if the awaiting payment area would allow more invoices to be shown, currently it only allows up to 200. Or if it had the ability to save the invoices you've selected for payment and you could go to the next page without loosing the invoices you had already preselected.
3 votesHi Sarah, there is a limit of including 50 invoices in a single batch deposit atm. Is there any commonality between invoices that you pay that could possibly be searched and bring them into the one page?

Aged Receivables - Include credit limit
We would like to see the credit limits included in the Aged Receivables Details, as well as in the Summary. This way, when we are working with detailed reports, it will be easy to see if a customer has exceeded their limit without having to run a separate report.
The amount could be placed as an extra column on the total amount of each client in the report.7 votes -
History & notes - chart of accounts
It would be great (if not already available - I can't find it) to get an audit report whereby we can see changes made to a set of accounts after they have been submitted.

Please supply an IR3 report option, or the ability to customise the accounts being used
I am a sole trader. I started using Xero to see how it helped with my taxes. The road has been... rocky. Largely because Xero largely ignores soletraders and their specific needs.
For instance, Xero has no IR3 reports (NZ IRD) set up that we can use.
And we can't have depreciation amounts at the same time as accounts in a report.
We also can't limit which accounts appear in a report.
For me, as a sole trader, I have wound up with personal and business expenses and income mixed in my bank accounts. I have also created personal accounts…

Xero Backups
Under all the new rules and regulations set down by the Tax Practitioners Board, it is a requirement to keep a backup copy of the data file. We do not want to start a new Xero file from a backup - that is not logical. We need the ability to click on a button and run a backup to comply with the new rules. Using another app is also not a solution. It must be built in the the Xero program that we can use as bookkeepers. This is an essential feature if we are to comply and do regular…

Bank Reconciliation - Date warning pop-up
When reconciling a bill that was paid on the same day a popup shows saying "The bill was raised after the payment you are reconciling to."
Would be nice if this basic logic was corrected and that message only shows if the bill was indeed raised in the future, not the same day.
Seems like an entry level software bug for a junior to fix.

Turn off the check for Duplicate Invoices
Can I turn this feature off. I have a client whose bills are broken down over several bikes, and therefore I can have one Invoice with several lines fed in from another software called MTA. I understand this is a great feature, but in this case I need the warning turned off. Is it possible to switch off?

New invoicing - Change layout of buttons/options
What's most wrong with the new invoicing template is that the most useful features have been shifted to to the bottom of the layout , so you have to scroll to the bottom to use them. Also the default of approve and send is not the best option , approve would be better ( or perhaps a way to choose that box default would be terrific. Also to attach files , all the way to the bottom we go, thats crazy . also the size of the template is too big , it needs to be more compact its adds…
3 votesThanks for feeding back to us here, Mark. I want to assure you our product teams and leadership are very attentive to the feedback we've been receiving from customers on the new invoicing experience and we're committed to improving this.
It helps for each of the points you've raised to be tracked separately so our teams can consider the votes as a factor when prioritising and planning development, as well as keeping the communication clear of the changes we're making.
Many of the things you've shared are being worked on and we have separate ideas for these that I've listed below and welcome you to join and vote for each, if you'd like.
Trying to get a better view of the placement of buttons that you mentioned - would this just be the Attach files option or is there another that you would like to see shifted above, too?

aged debtors
Ability to see aged debtors' balance in the currency the invoice was generated in, not just in your base currency, otherwise, it is difficult to calculate how much a customer owes. The same is true when you view the balance for a contact. It shows the issuing currency for each entry, but the total is only shown in the base currency, which is not helpful if you need to inform someone of the balance outstanding.

Repeating Invoices - Assign Invoices to Specific Client Contacts
When you create a repeating invoice give the ability to select a specific contact for the invoice.
We have a client who wants invoices for the two services we provide to be sent to different contacts for approval (one to the marketing dept, one to the IT dept). This is a common issue with other larger clients who have budgets assigned to different departments. Sometimes we just put FAO [name] in the reference and they go to a generic accounts email address, but with this client the invoice needs to go to the approver first.
In repeating profiles it would…

Monthly comparative reporting
Would it be possible to amend Xero settings, so that if you run a balance sheet to the end of February, the comparatives are also run to the end of previous month?
In February, my current month balance sheet is run to 28 February (Xero's choice) and Xero decides that means I also want to see the comparatives run to 28 January as a default setting.
As many month-end journals are posted to, say, 31 January, the balance doesn't include them.
This is very misleading: in any other month, the comparatives are run to the end of the month.
It's…

Projects - Keep items in the same order when invoicing
When creating an invoice from a project-keep items in the same order as they appear in the project. It is very confusing when all the items are in different places than they were in the project and I have to reorder everything.
