AU Payroll - Prompt to enter Leave loading rates
When ticking the "eligible to receive leave loading" box under taxes, have a pop-up to enter the leave loading rate. A lot of clients tick the box, but are not aware they need to manually enter the rate under leave in the payroll settings as well for it to occur.

AU Payroll - Director allowance remuneration report
Now that directors fees are considered allowances, they don't show up in the employee remuneration report because that is for OTE only.
I would greatly appreciate being able to include directors on the remuneration report because the board asks for total remuneration on a monthly basis.5 votes -

Global Payroll: Dedicated Payroll product to replace Global Pay Run
I cannot be the only Global Platform user that has now been waiting for basic payroll feature improvements in the Global version for over 4 years now.
Critical features that are not available include:
- Ability to add logo and YTD balances on pay slips
- Template payroll emails when sending pay slips (have to type it every time now)
- Timesheet option that syncs / built into payroll. Or at minimum an import option.
- Holiday / sick pay / leave tracking
- Basic employee portal for them to view pay slips and leave balances, and basic core info
- Employee core information database to enter employee basics (such as base salaries, holidays, start/ end dates/ pension structure, health insurance, tax if applicable (not for me but assume others may need).
- Better pay roll reporting / customizable reportsBasically everything already built into other platforms such as the Australia and NZ ones. Obviously tax would not be able to be built in and integrated to countries filing, but it doesn't need to be. Just some improvements in reporting and customizable tax brackets would solve this for anyone needing it, and personally we are tax free so we just need a 0% tax option.

AU Payroll: Edit column length in timesheet approval
I am wanting to configure the view of a timesheet in Xero. I would like to be able to view the full earnings rate when processing timesheets. We are currently in our peak season and have a huge amount of timesheets which we export from a different system into Xero. At present as a double check I am having to physically click on the earnings rate to view the entire name as it doesn't display. We added Time Sheet tracking to the timesheets which is causing the view of the pay item to be smaller but if we could make the Timesheet Tracking section smaller to make the Earnings Rate section larger that would be great.

AU Payroll - Unlimited text space for employee name fields
Increase number of letters/spaces in text field boxes in employee name fields.
Text fields for employee names are currently limited to 36 letters so my suggestion is to have an unlimited text field or increase to 50 spaces.
I only discovered this when a new employee's last name has 40 letters so I can't accurately add his full last name. Payslips need to be downloaded and edited via a pdf editor so he has the accurate payslip for his tax and visa records.

AU Payroll: Show timesheets on dashboard
Once a timesheet has been approved, I think it should show on the dashboard under bills to pay. We have varying numbers of contractors each week (sometimes many, sometimes only 1 contractor) which makes it difficult to know at a glance how much we owe for their wages each week.

Payroll - Total payment to show on Pay Runs and individual Pay Run screen
Show the Total Payment of a Pay Run, on both the Pay Runs and individual Pay Run screen. As it is, you have to click Payroll > Pay Employees > Pay Run > Employee to see the Total Payment for that specific Pay Run. Far too many clicks to check what the total amount was that was posted to Wages Payable account (and paid from the bank account).

Au Payroll - Template option for a 'Fixed Salary' employee
With employees on a salary contract for say 80K that compensate for extra hours each week (up to 57hrs) there is an issue with the current xero pay templates adding pay for every hour above 40hrs, as leave is calculated on number of hours worked. With these types of salaries it would be good to adjust the hours worked on each weekly payrun without it changing the payment amount but still changing the leave as per the award requirements. Currently the only way to handle this is creating a new payroll line item of "additional hours only contributing to leave" with a salary multiplier of '0'. Kind of hacky.
It would be great if there was a more standard way of handling this - like options on the full time salary that could be selected for this type of case.
These salary contracts are a standard award feature in the Restaurant Award. For reference, here is the Restaurant Award - the section related to this discussion is the R.3 Exemption Rate on page 78 of the award pdf.

NZ Payroll - Pay rate changes report
It would be very useful to have a report that shows at a glance when each employee last had a pay rise. Like an extra column in the Employee Remuneration Report. Or an audit report that shows the history of pay changes for all employees in one place.

AU Payroll - Ability to see superannuation opening balances
I would love to see superannuation opening balances split into two sections. One flows through to the superannuation payment section to be paid, and the other just remains on the balance sheet. As an example, we have a new client who has not paid any superannuation YTD, we have already prepared superannuation shortfall forms for 2 quarters, and the balance is to be paid this quarter. The opening balances have been entered as shown from the previous bookkeeping software, however now I have to split the opening balance to ensure the payment can be processed in Xero for the current quarter.

Reports: Superannuation and hours worked on Payment Summary Details report
Being a start-up company we claim R&D refund as part of our tax return. In order to support R&D activities we need to work out employee remuneration and hours to support our claims. Currently, Xero does not have any R&D reports that we can use. Hence, I am wondering whether the Tech team at Xero can include two fields (Column options) in the existing report "Payment Summary Details".
The fields required are 1) Superannuation 2) Units (worked hours)
Then we can export this report to work on our R&D claims. Thank you

UK Payroll - Holiday Pay Adjustment
Lot of employee are working overtime. Holiday should be paid adding the Holiday Pay Adjustment. This means that overtime, certain allowances and commission plans will be included in the first 20 days of leave taken in any holiday year. To put this simply, you should be no worse off financially by taking your holiday. So if you earn commissions, claim certain allowances or work overtime these will now be considered as part of your holiday pay adjustment payment. Every employer must calculate this manually, and errors may occur during the process. It would be fantastic if a formula could be added to Xero.
(Monthly pay ÷ hours worked in month) = average hourly pay
Average hourly pay x hours worked in week = weekly payI've attached an example.

AU Payroll - Annual Transaction Listing report per employee
Hi
I would like to be able to process a Payroll Transaction Summary Listing report that shows the individual amounts per pay item for every employee for the financial year in one report. Currently, I need to select the individual employee to get this information, but this is not practical when a business has 10 or more employees as it takes too much time to select each employee individually to get this information.

Include the ability to set multiple pay cycles for the same employee. For example, wages are paid fortnightly but commissions are paid monthly. The dates are not aligned with the period if we use only one pay cycle.

NZ Payroll: Employee pay template - Ability to order Earnings type
Employee Pay Template - order of "Earnings type"
It would be great to have the ability to reorder an employee's earnings types so that the most frequently used show first on the list when processing a pay run. At the moment, with the exception of Salary & Wages that defaults to the very top, all other "Earnings types" are listed alphabetically and there is no ability to change this order (drag & drop).2 votes -
NZ Payroll - Ability to Delete bank account from employee payment information
Some employees have payment information (bank account), and others do not at a client account. The client does not use the bank account information for the payment to employees, then, this information is not compulsory for the client at the moment.
I found a wrong information of the payment bank account information of an employee and tried to delete it, however, Xero says:
The account name is required, and
The account number is required, then,
It is not possible to save 'nil' information. The Company does not use 'payment information' in the actual payment process and there is no practical issue. Actually, some employees have no bank account information, then, I suppose it could be allowed to delete the existing bank account name and number, and make the bank account information into 'nil'.
My 'idea' is to allow Xero to delete the bank account information of an employee. This time, Xero support seems to change the bank account information, not just delete it. However, we can save some time if it is allowed that the bank account information could be deleted especially for the company with employees without existing bank account information with the payment at the last payment schedule.
The last conditions prevent the client account to delete necessary bank account information for the Company which uses bank account information of employees for the payment to employees.
