  1. Report to display how one (of several) bank accounts was reconciled by another user. Items to include Who (Contact) What (Account Selected and Description) Division and Tax Rate.

This is to ensure the items were reconciled correctly, particularly overseas payments where NO GST must be selected. To check work of admin.

  2. Populate Contact Purchase Defaults when Bills arrive as e-invoice or from 3rd party app.

As a bookkeeper I was so looking forward to promoting and using e-invoicing, but unfortunately it's not going to work for me (and many of my clients). This is because we often have invoices with A LOT of line items which are brought into Xero just as a total with one line only. However, if we receive an e-invoice all the individual lines would come into Xero and then we are faced with having to click through every individual line to populate the default purchase GL…

Thanks for your support here, everyone. Appreciate there is some interest in this from people emailing bills to their organisation, or importing via a 3rd party application.

We wanted to share a recent change we've made for those using eInvoicing - invoices received via Xero's eInvoicing will apply Contact defaults (such as a set default 'Purchase account) when creating the invoice in Xero. 😁

  3. I request xero development team to edit the billable expense feature or create a new feature. Currently for billable expense to be invoiced to customer, first we need to enter the billable expense and than later invoice to customer. However, in our case, we first send the customer a tax invoice to collect advance from customer and than make spending for the expenses on behalf of customer. However, in this case we can not make sure or link within xero what was invoiced to customer and how much was spent against that invoice. I mean if we the invoice for…

  4. Purchase orders should not be able to be edited after they have been billed (even part billed). It defeats the purpose of a purchase order.
We want staff to be able to issue purchase orders. Invoices are approved on those matching purchase orders. The same staff shouldn't be able to edit the original PO if it has been billed as then it doesn't match the invoice that's been paid/being paid.

  5. In timesheets, when you enter a new entry by hitting the + be good is the start of time could auto default to the end of time for the last timesheet entry you made, but you could still over type this if you wanted. Currently you have to keep looking and there is danger you could over lap or miss some time and it is time consuming.

  7. Ability to sort by Account Name or Code when customising reports, without having to show the detail of sort. e.g sort by account code without showing the code on published reports

Purpose: More professional documentation and increased flexibility and customisation with reports

Hi team, appreciate not exactly what's being asked here but to confirm what's available at present.

In the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss you can now show Account code through the More option. From here, use the layout editor to drag & drop accounts to the order you'd like.

Once set up deselect the option to show Account code and your ordering will remain while the codes are not shown within the report.

You can also Save as custom so you can then access this layout anytime you need.

To go deeper with the insights for our team here, it's be good to know the specific reports you're wanting to see this feature in.

  8. When converting xero projects / Invoice

6 employees work for the last month gets dumped on to the invoice in alphabetical order and from the latest date they worked

The client needs to see this in cronological order and with each task for the said date

    eg

    1 July

    Dave
    Fred
    jim

    2 july
    Dave
    Fred
    Jim

At the moment this task of ordering said invoices can take about half an hour of ferrying each transaction up and down the page. Before Editing

So needs a filter button installed to do this please

  9. When I am reviewing expenses that have been submitted by an employee, I would like to see the current balance of the account that the expense is being assigned to as well as the overall budget for that account. That way, I can make a more informed decision as I either approve or decline the expense.

  12. See Inventory Item Cost when doing a Quote. I would find it helpful, when doing a quote to a customer, to see the cost of the inventory item I am quoting on. Of course, it should not appear in the final quote going to the client, but seeing it, would give me more confidence in doing my quote and make it a lot quicker. Thanks

  13. We're only a small business with a lot of recurring revenue and expenses. We use the The P&L to track changes in activity from month to month. It would be really useful to be indicate any changes from the previous month that with an up (^) or down (v) indication, or maybe a color indication.

To remove distractions, it would be useful to associate a tolerance (+/-% or value) to each account code. Changes below that tolerance would be ignored.

I'm not an accountant, but having talked to a few, they seem to use a similar technique when looking for…

  15. When entering invoices and the account is always "sales" (for example), I would like the option to set up invoices to automatically use the "sales" account? It is currently only an option by setting up item codes and/or setting up through contacts. I would like to see it automatically assign the account at the time of entering the invoice, instead of having to type in an item code. It will save so much more time and avoid errors by users selecting an incorrect account from the chart of accounts.

  16. I mistakenly issued some invoices and had to void them. That made our invoice number sequence non-consecutive. This is a problem for my accountant here in Romania because we need to file the voided invoices as justification on using non-consecutive invoice numbers.
I want to be able to print them as PDFs and the documents to be marked as voided.

  17. Xero has the facility to look up UK addresses by postcode when entering new contacts etc.

Unfortunately it usually makes a such a mess of the address, I end up editing it all again anyway!

    • UK Postcode lookups can return a Company Name (e.g. if there are multiple companies registered at the same address.) Xero adds this company name again to the address. In our case, that is a duplicate of the Contact name, so we take that out to avoid it appearing twice.

    • UK Postal counties are obsolete and should no longer be used in postal addresses. Royal Mail…

  18. Xero Me App

When an employee is trying to enter the hours worked it only provides an option to do hours and minutes for the day worked, yet on the desktop it can be done simply as a decimal. For example we do 7.6 hours normal working hours with 0.4 hours going to an RDO bank for every day (except on an RDO).

It just seems really silly to have to adjust it to an equivalent of minutes instead of the hours total, be it whole or decimal for each and every day. Can this be fixed to work exactly…

  19. Good afternoon

We are a liquid manufacturer and require the use of proformas to send to the client to pay before the goods are shipped then for this to be invoiced once the goods are shipped

I have checked some articles but the way to do this is to create a template to which we name is pro forma, and code this to a separate code in the balance sheet (name it Pro forma deposits or something similar). Once we have confirmation the goods have been shipped, we have to manually put on a credit to go against the same…

  20. Modify the Budget Manager so that it accepts 2 decimal places and does not round to the nearest full dollar.

Rounding all figures means that the Net Profit amount is incorrect which means the budgets are incorrect.
