  1. We all do small jobs but do not invoice straight away. Job may take 1 or 2 days or may be few hours to complete but do not send away the invoice on the same day or the next.

When you create an invoice the payment terms default to what is set for each customer (ie. 45 days from end of month, 60 days etc) however if you then change the issue date of the invoice, it defaults back to 30 days for every client regardless of their terms. We are looking for it to caclulate to each clients correct terms whenever the invoice date is changed

  5. Please allow remittance advices to be sent to clients from a batch payment even if it contains an overpayment. There is something fundamentally wrong for there not to be an option for this. A batch payment of 100 invoices with an overpayment of 1 is not cause for there not being an option to send a remittance advice to my clients. I've had to search the page and manually extract it onto an excel file and then send to suppliers. Very time consuming especially if you make large batch payments for over 50 different suppliers.

  6. There is a significant risk to accuracy allowing the ability to edit an approved invoice without further approval from a higher access tier to what is already provided.

    We have experienced a number of clients sending out the invoices to their clients and then editing the invoices, resulting in differences between the original invoice and that on the system. There is no real audit detail either.

    Therefore, the request is to consider introducing an additional access level restricting the editing / amending of documentation after approval.

  7. It would be an idea to be able to add to a purchase order by simply ticking the item from the stock list while you are checking stock levels. This would save time typing in every item after you have checked it.

  8. When an overpayment is entered while reconciling the bank transaction, the reference we enter while creating overpayment transaction should appear in the reference tab while applying the credit to an invoice.

  9. Add payment method to the main screen

    If a Payment Method was on the main Invoice Awaiting Payment screen, maybe next the sent icon this would make things so much easier, you can also see clearly who is on Direct Debit.

  11. I'm an experienced chartered accountant relatively new Xero user. I'm flummoxed by the inclusion of payroll transactions in the "bills to pay" section. While the detail is hidden from some users, some personal payroll transactions (related to overpayment) have become viewable by users without payroll access. Even summary transactions should not be viewable by people without payroll access.

    All payroll transactions should be in a separate section to avoid confusion and any breach of privacy.

    I cannot, for the life of me, see the rationale for including payroll transactions in this area in the first place.

  12. A single bill is entered for two projects (tracking categories). In the Profit & Loss statement, it is showing the correct amount for Project 1 and Project 2. However, when I make a partial payment to this supplier, I am unable to allocate it to the particular project. Xero is automatically assigning it, which is resulting in incorrect output.
    If you can add a popup for Bill Payment "tracking category", it will be a great help for the users

  13. With scamming on the rise checking bank details is a priority.

    I would love to see the ability to open each of the bills in the review section when creating a batch payment (ABA file).

    Even better if you could open any attached files direct from the batch payment review section users could quickly check if the bank details in Xero Contacts match the latest bill. If there is any discrepancy the user could investigate before processing the payment.

  14. I've accidentally created a Small Business Depreciation Pool in the Fixed Asset section of a client.

    As far as I can tell there is no way to permanently remove or delete this, and it just hangs around forever?

  15. Sometimes I want to add more than one invoice at the same time, and so I choose the "Approve + Add Another" option in the button dropdown. That's helpful, since it's fewer clicks and fewer page loads. But for the second invoice form, the button stays with "Approve" and I need to click the small dropdown arrow and go into the button menu again and select "Approve + Add Another", and repeat this for every invoice that I add.

    I think if someone selects "Approve + Add Another", then the second invoice form should have "Approve + Add Another" as…

  17. Please provide a report by Customer for Profit and Loss and allow us to upload a budget for each customer so we can include the forecast in XERO. QBO has much better and flexible reporting than XERO. Please see attached QBO Report of P&L by Customer. Please mimic this report in XERO.

  18. It would be very useful if the cashflow report could intelligently add VAT payments to Cashflow automatically.

    For example when a VAT return if filed, automatically add the payment amount and date to the report, learning as it does with repeating outgoings what the date might be - if you're paying by DD this is pretty predictable.

    As invoices are generated (payable and receivable) the report already picks up the amount of VAT payable to HMRC and it would not be a stretch to calculate what is due back on purchases, or to use the known VAT reporting date to…
