  1. Currently when you create and apply a credit note to a sales invoice, as soon as you hit approve it'll take you back to the invoice, so I then have to click back into the credit note.
I'd like to have a dropdown option to approve & email the credit note to the customer if possible.

  2. When exporting reports to Excel they are coming in with very narrow row heights. By Default Excel will create a row height 4 points larger than the font. Eg: default font is 11 points and row height is 15 points. If I increase the point size, the row height increases.

My exported reports have the general data at 9 points but the row height is at 11 points - and I'm constantly having to modify my spreadsheets.

It appears that Xero believes that a 2 point difference between font size and row height gives enough white space to make the…

  3. Invoice - A total items line in invoices would be extremely helpful for our clients to be able to reconcile inventory sent with the invoice.

  4. When adding bills with mixed GST/GST-free items to an invoice as a single line, please preserve the tax attributions (proportions) of the items in the billable expense.

Example: If I want to invoice a billable expense to a client from a purchase made at Coles Supermarket, the expense will contain some items that attract GST and others that do not.

These are correctly recorded in the bill (spend money transaction), but when this bill is added to an invoice as a single line, the GST/GST-free portions of the bill are lost. (And tax is applied to the total…

  5. when printing or saving the employee summary report x group the name of the group doesn't appear. If doing multiple groups, this makes it difficult to know which group is which when referring back or from printed reports.

  6. Xero advertises 24/7 support. My idea is that this representation is amended to reflect what support is actually offered.

Xero state that you can "Contact Xero for free and unlimited 24/7 customer support". To most people, the meaning of this representation is that you can communicate in real time with someone from Xero who can help. This is not the case.

The advertising claim should reflect that, while you can request support at any time, you will only get that support when Xero staff have the time to provide it, based on their triage system.

    If you believe I'm being…

  7. When an expense claim is created via Xerome a 'spend money' transaction is created instead of a bill which means that if there is more than 1 payment against this claim I cannot opt to split the transaction when reconciling the payments. There needs to either be an option to split or the expense should create a bill rather than a 'spend money' to enable easier reconcilliation

  8. On the Suppliers list, if you want to get to the next page you need to scroll down to the bottom of that page. Could there be a next page toggle at the top of the page as well as the bottom. This also is applicable to Customers.

  11. As someone who is colour blind, I find the Budget Variance Arrows are similar / same colour which makes viewing budget variance at a glance a challenge.

It would be great to have an option to have lines highlighted a colour if above/below budget instead. Even better if this colour option was customisable.

When you say one click bank refresh, is there a specific place you'd be looking for this option, Martin? Currently there are some types of bank feeds that have an option to Refresh bank feed.

However how often a bank feed updates depends on your bank and each bank does things a little differently.

You can find the specifics for each bank feed here. It includes when they update, how often and if a manual refresh is available.

If you think your bank feeds might not be syncing correctly, you can check current or recent bank feed delays and issues on our status page - You can also access this from within Xero by clicking on the View status updates option from your bank feed menu.

  13. It would be great if there was an option (tick the box) to copy last week's wages for the current week for payroll. I have casual staff who sometimes have the same hours as the previous week's so not having to replicate this would be great and the quickest way would be to have a tick the box which can copy it across to the current payroll

  14. In service industries like hospitality salaried employees will work a different set of shifts each week across 7 days. Currently I have to set up a working pattern and if they phone in sick on a Saturday for example if that day isnt set as their working day (i.e we set them up as Mon-Fri for ease) we have to record the sick day on the Monday to ensure it is deducted. But in these industries the working days are different each week and they dont work on a set pattern. Need the ability to set that the employee works…

  15. Can we drill down into the history lines by date to see the actual changes/edits or whatever was done for individual invoices? This would enable a clearer picture for future scrutiny.
My client couldn't work out what had been done and neither could I . All the history said was 'edited' by an employee.

  16. It would be really useful if there was an options to tag or colour code invoices in the list view, so that at a glance we could see invoices grouped together for any given reason.

For example most of my invoices are paid via direct debit, so I'd love a way to tag/colour code the invoices that have not yet signed up for the debit system, so that I can see at a glance how many I am still missing and who I need to follow up on.

  17. New Invoicing - Remove the edit button in the item list. It is inconvenient and makes completing an invoice with multiple items harder than the new invoicing already is.

Appreciate customers use Xero in different ways, Meradene. Want to be open that we don't have any plans to remove this option, but we'll begin to get a sense of the interest of this from the idea here.

  18. For setting dates on new invoicing:
    - when using the "copy to draft invoice" function, keep original date from copied invoice and not default to current date.
    - be able to type date using all numbers and not having to type month name (slows me down)

Hi Rebecca, I've just amended the title of your idea for your first request. In terms of the second when you're mentioning the input of dates. You should find you can currently enter dates in number format, however you'll need to make sure you keep the '/' or '.' to separate day month and year, alternatively you may find shortcuts help you cut down the time needed to enter your dates here.

  19. I am "one man band company" and use Mettle Bank in the UK. It offers the the facility to put money into "pots" so that I can save for things such as Corporation Tax, VAT payments etc. This is basically a bank account within a bank account and one which I find very useful. The downside is that there is no obvious means to keep track of what is in each pot within Xero and complicated by the fact Mettle does not stream the total in each pot via the connection only the total amount with the bank account itself.…

Hi Neil, perhaps worth engaging your accounting advisor on, however from the sounds you could create 'suspense' accounts in your chart of accounts to reconcile these amounts from your bank account too. Effectively when you make you create a transaction that is related to the amount that's been allocated to a pot you could then make a payment on the transaction to that 'pot' account in your organisation. This way you could run the Account Summary report to keep a constant track on the amounts you have unallocated in your pots.

  20. Overtime Report by employee in one easy to read report

Managerment required a report to analyse overtime per employee over the course of a year - in one report. Only option in Xero is to run report employee by employee. (which would be incredibly time consuming)

A simple report would be -

    - Rows would be list of employees
    - Columns would be all the overtime categories,

    - values would be sum of hours worked (or dollar value or both)
    - parametres would be between two given dates.

I could find no such useful report in Xero - instead I…
