Contacts - Add the File icon back to the Contacts transactions list
Under the previous Contact view, there was a book icon to show if there was an attachment to a bill. Now there is an icon to allow copy bill to draft bill. I can't imagine any time I would use this, but value being able to see if a bill has an attachment. I have to open the bill now to find if there is an attachment or go back to the Purchases section and create a report there.

CIS - Amend CIS returns before submitting
It would be very useful to be able to amend CIS returns on Xero before final submission (as it is possible with VAT returns).

Show Contact Details on Customer Activity Page
I would like to be able to see the "Contact Details" as a little box on the left side of the Customer Activity Page. See my example attached.
I use the 'contact details: notes' section to add notes about some of our jobs, because the History/Notes section is useless. I would like to see the ability to move the customer tabs around and display what we want to see on the activity page.
Not every single one of my customers has an additional note, so I don't always remember to click over and double check it. I want to be…

Title: Add the ability to allocate tasks under major project categories (e.g., Direct, Indirect) and create sub-tasks in Xero Projects for better project summary management
Description: Currently, in Xero Projects, there is no option to allocate tasks under broader categories (such as Direct, Indirect) or create sub-tasks within a project. This limits the ability to organize and simplify project summaries, especially for larger projects with multiple facets.
A more efficient way to manage complex projects would be to:
Allocate tasks under major project categories like "Direct" (e.g., Manufacturing, Certification & Testing), "Indirect" (e.g., Design, Development), and Other" (e.g., Client Engagement,…

Stripe - Import Invoices to Xero created in Stripe
Invoices which have been created directly in Stripe are integrated with Xero so that the invoices import into Xero and then when payments are received, if payment is received via Stripe, this marks the invoice as paid to the bank account in Xero (which will then allow for reconciliation with the payment from Stripe) or if paid by a bank deposit these can be reconciled in Xero and will mark as paid in Stripe also.

AU Payroll - Track Contractors superannuation contribution owed
Invoices submitted by contractors - Xero should have a tick box where we can tick 'I need to pay super on this invoice' and it tracks and records contractor super owing.

Account Transactions report - Tax Inclusive or Tax Exclusive
Add column/filter to include "Tax Inclusive or Tax Exclusive" invoice setting on Transaction Report.
4 votesThanks for confirming, Jeremy. It sounds like the Gross and Net columns that can be included in the Account Transactions report would provide what you're after. Let me know if there's something I'm missing.

AU Payroll - Inactivate casual employees
Inactive casual employees, so they do not show up all the time on the pay runs, and you do not have to click on the check box each time.
Also adding a 6-month and yearly payment option as quarterly is too often.

Cybersecurity - Phishing resistant MFA & logging of failed MFA attempts
Cybersecurity - Phishing resistant MFA & logging of failed MFA.
The Australian government publishes a set of 8 essential security measures. In order to progress beyond maturity level 1, platforms need to provide central logging of failed multifactor attempts and phishing resistant methods. Xero currently provides neither and can achieve this via SSO. Please add single sign on support with advice per https://www.cyber.gov.au/resources-business-and-government/maintaining-devices-and-systems/system-hardening-and-administration/system-hardening/implementing-multi-factor-authentication2 votes -
New invoicing - Move approve to bottom of screen
Not a new idea but your support tells me to post it here.
Can we please have the green approve button at the bottom of an invoice back?
Green = go
At the bottom because that is where the eyes rest after checking
NOT combined with emailing or anything else as they are different processes done by different people.
So the new idea is basically to revert this back to how this worked in the old invoicing which had it right on all accounts (intuitive, neat, procedurally correct and efficient).3 votes -
Purchase Orders - Option to part-receive
Receiving part orders. No "back order" capability. So what is the point of using purchase orders when you can't change to a "Bill" if only part of the order has been sent/received?

New Invoicing | Copy to - Purchase order
When a selecting the new invoicing platform, you lose certain functions.
The first function that has been lost is the ability to copy invoice data to a purchase order - this feature needs to added to the new platform as some business use this to purchase items that have been sold from a supplier and makes sure there are no errors.
The second function is when invoicing from Project the time entered for that project is no longer being allocated to an invoice and showing in the project as not invoiced, this will cause doubling up on billing.159 votesHi everyone, we appreciate your continued input and feedback on this feature here. Being able to copy to purchase orders and bills is something our team are monitoring feedback of closely and very much across the this idea, however there are a few other priority pieces of work that are currently of focus.
Right now, it is still possible to copy an invoice to a purchase order or bill from the list views(Draft, Awaiting approval, Awaiting Payment or Paid tabs). You'll find you can select the invoice/s and click 'Copy to...' - You can find out more detail and ways of doing things within new invoicing through our guide on Xero Central.
We'll keep you in the know here of any progress or updates for this feature.

Connection with Belgium (and other countries) tax authorities
We have 3 Belgian customers who are unable to used Xero as there is no connection with Belgium tax authorities, comparable with the HMRC in the UK for MTD VAT returns. If Xero truly want to be a global accounting solution, with Group structures having multiple geographical entities, they need to provide more global support/interaction to avoid clients moving away to alternative solutions.

Projects - Show outstanding invoice balance under "Quotes & Invoices"
On projects under "quotes & invoices" it would be great if it showed the remaining balance of the invoice. I send 4-5 invoices per project and sometimes clients pay a random lump sum and i write it off against the invoices but that can lead to an invoice being part paid and being able to see which invoices have been paid or have a remaining balance under that view would be beneficial instead of having to get out of projects and searching the invoice under the invoice tab.

New Invoicing - Change tabbing behaviour
Hey Xero, there seems to be a lot of issue and complaints about new invoicing. How about giving us all a break and re-enable the old invoicing till you get thing sorted out.
- Cant stop auto save , there is no undo button if you make a mistake.
- Tabbing between fields is not the same.
- Can't add expenses and leave them un-allocated to a GL, I know that the expense is @ cost price and needs to be completed. -Cant change the Customer with Billable expenses assigned without loosing the billable expenses and have to re-assign them
Cheers
2 votesAppreciate your feedback, Selwyn. We try to keep each idea separate so it's clear to others in community what they're adding their vote for, we can gauge the interest in a particular feature, and we can keep everyone updated of any development.
In relation to the points you've shared here we have an idea you may like to join around being able to switch off autosave, and another around the auto suggest feature that current fills in the account GL field for you and relates to your second point on leaving this blank.
Our team did make some changes to the flow of tabbing, so this should be more logical however it'd be good to get more detail on what's causing you issues when tabbing in new invoicing atm.
It might help to get a bit more detail about the billable expense scenario you're running into, too. In terms…

Invoicing - Adding Direct Debit tab to columns in Awaiting Payment
It would be really useful to be able to have a column in the 'awaiting payment' section where you can mark the group (i.e. Direct Debit) so when you're setting up Telleroo payments / batch payments, you can easily see which one's are Direct Debit suppliers without either running a payables report or clicking into the supplier to see which group they belong to

Allow for Custom Grouping on Reports to be Exploded or Minimized with Total in Minimize mode.
At present we are able to edit the layout of reports by rearranging, creating formulas, and grouping accounts. It would be INCREDIBLE to be able to customize the following.
1) Group font (size and boldness only)- right now it defaults to a much larger BOLD font than the underlying accounts. It would be nice to choose these sizes and weights
2) Customize the Group Total's Location - at present it shows only as an additional labeled row with the corresponding total. It would be a neater presentation to just have the group total show right in line with its main…
