Xero Accounting app | Bills - Shortcut to favourite accounts in 'Categorize to an account' menu
My role as a user is to load my credit card receipts into Purchases/Add Bill. On the template screen I would like to be able to have a "favorite's list" when selecting the "Categorise to an account". Also, all my expenses are to the same Department so it would be great if I could set a default, same with "Select tax rate". Thanks!

Invoice - Encrypt pdf tax invoices (South Africa)
Encryption of PDF documents from within Xero.
Purpose: To ensure Tax Invoices are SARS compliant (VAT404 Guide - Tax invoices must be sent in encrypted format (at least 128 bytes), over a secure line or contain an electronic signature)

Cash Coding - Access notes on the coding screen
Cash Coding Discussion/Notes: When I'm cash coding transactions, it would be really helpful to access the discussions/notes on the cash coding screen. When I have a question about a transaction, I have to go find it in the account to write a note for review. It'd be great to do that straight from the cash coding screen.

Fixed Assets | Depreciation - Ability to round to the nearest dollar
Have a choice of rounding depreciation calculations up to the nearest dollar and reporting $ only in the depreciation schedule and other fixed asset reports.
Currently it rounds to the nearest cent.. This does not suit our requirements and so have to prepare our own depreciation schedules outside of Xero5 votes -
Projects Detailed time report - Filter Staff (only show current users)
Reports Projects Filter Staff:
When filtering Project time reports by staff, is it possible to show only currently active (valid) users rather than any and every user ever associated with the account for all time? Can the list be alphabetized?
Currently the list includes every user that ever existed including every instance of when Xero Support was invited (via a support ticket) as well as staff removed from the practice. Furthermore, it is in a random order.

Xero Accounting app - Option to remove decimals
In the mobile app, please make decimals optional. Decimals take up space and cause large numbers to wrap on the screen.

Inventory - Show inventory movement without needing a quantity (drop shipping)
Can a way be setup to do Invoicing for Drop-Ship items where we do not need to add inventory, but it is automatically calculated when invoiced to Track how many drop-shipments are being sent in a month and track the difference between the vendor price and customer price. Having to manually add to inventory is a lot of work.

Expenses - Ability for advisers to view expenses tab for clients
I'm an accountant and having advised our clients to adopt using Xero they often come to me with questions. It would be really useful if advisers could view the expenses and projects tabs even if we are are not subscribed to use them so we can help the client with issues.

It would be incredibly helpful to be able to group project into folder to help categories them internally within the team.

Xero Accounting app - Reconcile Stripe payments
Ability to automatically reconcile Stripe payments on mobile app. Currently Xero automatically groups transactions for Stripe payments to be automatically reconciled on desktop, but the Android app does not select Stripe transactions for automatic reconciling.

Bills - Reorder the Banks shown when recording payments
When I'm posting a payment to a vendor, and I choose a bank account to fund the payment, the accounts look like they're displayed in the order in which I created them. But the checking account I use most often is also my newest account and, therefore, is always displayed at the bottom of the list.
Two potential solutions:
Allow us to choose the order in which the accounts are displayed. (This is my preferred solution)
Sort the list alphanumerically.

CPA005 compliant so that a payment file can be uploaded to a Canadian bank instead of having to manually input payments.

Report Templates - Bulk update
Have a way to make updates to multiple templates at once or somehow link templates. e.g. trading / non-trading companies, should be the same except for the trading statement/income statement. Would be handy to be able to make updates to both at the same time where possible

Contacts | Overview - View payments against invoices
It would be handy to be able to customize the view screen on the contacts screen within Xero. Ie add additional columns - a payment column? It would be a lot easier to have a visual of payments received rather than having to click on the invoice or run a statement against the client to see when payment was last received / paid. It would also be handy to have an item column that includes payments. As well as an option to reconfigure the column order, Ie. Date in first column.

Management report pack - locking in start dates
We run a P&L Forecast report each month, with 12 monthly columns across the financial year.
Start date = start of the financial year.
Reporting on Month 1, this report shows Actuals for month 1 + Budgets for months 2 to 12, to give forecast total for year.
Reporting on Month 2, this report shows Actuals for months 1 to 2 + Budgets for months 3 to 12, to give forecast total for year.
Reporting on Month 11, this report should show Actuals for months 1 to 11 + Budget for month 12, to give forecast total for year.I expect to (and am happy to) change the current month's reporting column from Budget to Actuals.
But I've realised that I also need to check which month is appearing in each of the 12 monthly columns, as Xero isn't looking at the dates selected in the report layout, but is looking at Current month, Current month -1, Current month -2, etc.
So the report dates advance each month, so too does the Actuals data. The first column date may have been Apr-22 when the report was first set up, but the next month it crept to May-22, then Jun-22.Is there a way of locking the first Actuals month of a report to the first month of the financial year?
And then locking the last Budget month to the last month of the budget?

Add a status for the Contact. Active/Administration/On Hold/Prospect - ability to exclude contacts from Aged debtors/creditor reports using this would be useful.

NZ Payroll - Ability to Delete bank account from employee payment information
Some employees have payment information (bank account), and others do not at a client account. The client does not use the bank account information for the payment to employees, then, this information is not compulsory for the client at the moment.
I found a wrong information of the payment bank account information of an employee and tried to delete it, however, Xero says:
The account name is required, and
The account number is required, then,
It is not possible to save 'nil' information.The Company does not use 'payment information' in the actual payment process and there is no practical issue. Actually, some employees have no bank account information, then, I suppose it could be allowed to delete the existing bank account name and number, and make the bank account information into 'nil'.
My 'idea' is to allow Xero to delete the bank account information of an employee. This time, Xero support seems to change the bank account information, not just delete it. However, we can save some time if it is allowed that the bank account information could be deleted especially for the company with employees without existing bank account information with the payment at the last payment schedule.
The last conditions prevent the client account to delete necessary bank account information for the Company which uses bank account information of employees for the payment to employees.

3 votesWe appreciate the interest and rationale in wanting to be able to delete an employee's bank information.
While this may be a function we look to explore in the long-term we want to be upfront that this is not something we've currently got planned.
In the meantime, you can replace the employee bank account details with fake/dummy information instead.

VAT Reconciliation report - Ability to drill down in the unfiled VAT section
Not sure this is really part of Xero HQ - but it would be really useful to be able to drill down into the unfiled VAT section on the VAT reconciliation report.

Projects | Quotes - apply contact defaults when creating quote from a project
When creating a customer record, we complete the sales defaults, as different customers have different requirements. However, when raising a quote within Projects, the sales defaults for the associated customer do not populate the relevant fields within the quote.
We are in the UK and have some customers who are CIS and VAT registered, and require a specific sales account, VAT treatment, and we use a particular sales invoice layout. All of these things can be specified in the default settings for the customer. However, when creating a quote for those customers, through Projects, the customer defaults do not get auto-populated. Xero puts in system defaults.
We then have to overwrite the system defaults with those for the customer so they can see the correct VAT treatment that will be applied to their invoice.Kind of defeats the point of having customer defaults. Please can we have this addressed as we probably spend an additional 5 minutes per quote in checking what Branding Theme, Sales Account and VAT code should be applied for the customer, and then entering the correct details, when this should flow through from the customer record.
If the check is not made, the wrong VAT treatment may be applied to their final sales invoice, and the sales reported in the wrong place within the accounts, which would potentially result in fines and penalties from HMRC for incorrect VAT treatment.
