  1. Ability to filter Account Transactions report by only Description. Currently description contains both the contact name and line description.

    Didn't take long to round back 🙂 - Invoice # and Contact fields are now live in the Account Transactions report. 


    When you next run the Account Transactions report, you'll find options to add either of these fields as \columns to the report, or group/summarise and filter by either of these fields.

I would like to recommend that standard access users be able to access a very handy "uncoded statement transaction report" that at this point is only available to the advisers role (usually accountants). I am told for advisers it appears on the front page of bank reconciliation. If it wasn't for chatting to an accountant one day about typing out lists to my clients I wouldn't know about it.   3. In reports - Be able to make formulas from individual rows / accounts not just "columns, group totals or formula rows". I have attached an example of the work around required to get Gross Profits for hospitality split into Wet (Booze) and Dry (Food). It adds 8 lines and makes the report unwieldy. I would love to to more interesting formula. And not have to export to Excel or other programs.

  4. Currently when you filter all project reports by a date range it pulls the report based on when you assigned the invoice/expense to a project. Please update the report to pull by the invoice/bill date similarly to all other reports in Xero. This is crucial so you can compare your project reports to all other financial statements to confirm accuracy.

  6. The ability to analyse year on year customer revenue by selecting your time frame and comparing across a number of selected years (this is what I would like) or by month / year. Allows to have a quick snapshot on how each customer account is performing and address any obvious loss of custom / sales. A basic analysis report but a highly useful and informative one. The ability to compare in this way exists on Xero for profit and loss but not for customer accounts.

  7. We cannot see/create leave liability in our reports and/or our balance sheet.
    I wonder how a true business value is going to be shown on balance sheet without this liability.

    To be frank and honest, it is not an idea, but quite basic necessity.

  8. Bulk archive option for any contact either supplier and customer with no activity after 2 years or at least being able to run a report for the same inactivity (Smart list does not offer the options needed)

  9. The assurance dashboard has been around for a while and it's great to have a number of checks accessible in the same place. However, there doesn't appear to have been much development in this area i.e. we are still not able to export out reports from the Assurance Dashboard.

    A client reached out today looking for an easy to run report showing bank account number changes. This is an important item to check on for businesses, particularly entities that have bank accounts loaded into Xero by multiple people, use batch payments etc. Accessing this information through the assurance dashboard…

    Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback on my last question. I've slightly amended the title of this idea. As a bit of an update from when I last posted we have actually made an update in History & Notes as I know some of you were interested in - You can now Export to PDF or Excel from this screen and you'll find there are filter options to help you zone into the items you're most interested in looking at. 

  10. When customising profit and loss reports would like to be able to choose the formula to use depending on whether the account is an expense or income. (eg. negative or positive variances)

    HI community, thanks for your support here. While this isn't something we have plans for extending comparatives beyond 36 periods atm, it'd be good to get more detail on the ideal # of comparatives you'd be looking to run the report for, and what this would help your business do - Please do comment to share your views. 

    Other options you'll see you have with the new report, is that you can change the comparative period between Day, Month, Quarter or Year.

    When we export the management accounts of the companies, the currency is never mentioned which is not convenient.
    It would be great to add the currency on these documents as we have a lot of currencies.

    Hi all, coming back in to confirm that as of today you'll find you can now run the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Budget Variance reports in currencies the org has been using, and you'll be able to select and see the currency the report is run in at the top in the report settings. 😁

    If there are other specific reports you'd like to see this developed in please do start a new idea in the site here and we can get a feel for the interest in each of these, too. Thanks!

  15. I think it would be beneficial to be able to add commentary to the management report so that variance analysis can be explained to the owner of the business / interested parties (i.e. investors, banks) rather than just presenting a set of figures.

    We want to update you that we've launched the new management report pack to all regions, which you'll have the ability to add commentary to your report through a text block to accompany tabular report data, or a whole blank page containing text - see our article here for more information.

    That being said, I'll mark this thread as 'delivered' 😄.

  16. When reconciling bank account, then publishing it should display the bank details as setup in chart of accounts - it just just says bank reconciliation. So makes it hard to know which report is which. Once reconciled it should default to the the next date so you don't have to change dates continuously.

    I was wondering whether you are looking at adding more filters to the Customer Invoice Report so that we can filter it by a single Contact? Presently whenever I need to show a customer what they have and haven't paid and on what dates, I am exporting the whole report to excel and then deleting all the lines that don't relate to that contact.

    Hi team - The new Contact Transactions - Receivables report has just been released. :)

    See how you can access and tailor all the new Contact reports on our Blog - Test them out for yourself and let us know what you think.

    I can also confirm the issue with only the first 100s contacts has been resolved, so you should be able to access all contacts from the drop-down selection now.

  18. It would be really helpful if there was the option to add a planned payment date for all invoices listed on a particular aged creditors report. Having customised reports so that only invoices on particular job sites are listed, it then seems very inefficient to have to access 'bills to be paid' and manually, individually search each of the invoices listed on the report to schedule a payment date for them. Could this not be a function, whereby you can schedule them all for payment directly from the aged creditors report?

  19. I was requesting for "Account Type" and "Source" as options that can be added to "Journal" report.
    Staff replied these options are available in "General Ledger Details" report and "Journal ID" is also available in "General Ledger Details" report now.
    However, the "General Ledger Details" report does not have accounting entries posting date and who was it posted by.
    Please add (1) "Account Type" and "Source" to "Journal" report, or (2) "Posted Date" and "Posted By" to "General Ledger Details" report.

  20. Would like to be able to find and recode transactions in bulk or have a report somehwere, where we can search the "include Adjustment to Tax" amount on any transactions. There is currently no way to find transactions that have this and to correct we have to find the batch payment, undo, edit the invoice, approve and re-batch. Not ideal.
