Reporting: Aged Reports - Run in different currency
Ability to run different currencies in Aged Payable report.
Purpose: Because some organisation make their sales in a different currency, so it’s beneficial for them to run these reports using different currencies.
Hi everyone, thanks for all the valuable feedback and ideas shared regarding aged reports in different currencies.
It seems that this idea picked up several different themes over time so we want to clarify where we’re at with this. In the past few months our product team has worked hard to improve the functionality in this area. That includes releases for totals when run in a single currency - so you can see a total of your foreign currency, and disclosures 🎉
We’ve introduced FX disclosures on the Aged Reports, which displays as a note at the bottom of your report or as an icon next to figures on the report to indicate that they include revalued foreign currency amounts to give you more flexibility. The disclosure will contain all the currency information that has been used to calculate the figures in your report. The exchange rate note will display by default, but we’ve heard from some customers that they want the ability to hide the disclosure. We’ve added this option under the More button. Hiding the disclosure this way will also remove it from all exported versions of the report. The disclosure can be re-added to the report later if desired.
While we haven't met the original request, we are confident that the new disclosures functionality will make it easier to understand foreign currency balances. Being transparent we have no plans to build the ability to run aged reports in a different currency. If you still find that you need the ability to run aged reports in a different currency, even using the improvements we’ve released, you’re welcome to create a new idea so we can gauge user need from this point on.

This is a crucial report to have, appreciate if this feature is available yesterday as this is quite a set back for not having this report.

Need the AR & AP reports in the currencies the transactions ware entered in, not just the base currency.

Not sure if Xero should market the Premium subscription as a multi currency feature if it cannot produce A/R & A/P reports in multi-currency values. Very misleading if it does not do that. On Sage 50 it is possible to do so.

We are not able to view the ledger for AP or AR in the correct currency.
This is a basic accounting necessity. Without this functionality the multi currency option is basically not viable -

it is Critical for us

Multi currency is critical to our business. This is international business environment and you cannot withdraw the older version of the reports without providing a solution to this. The balance sheet does not even tie with the AR & AP reports!

Multi currency subscription (Premium) should have report options in multicurrency. Surely that is obvious expectation! I assued it would be as in Sage but was wrong.

I really need this as a multicurrency business!

I have contacted Xero on Instagram but was again revered to leave a suggestion on this page.
The lack of this functionality should be disclosed to paying customers so they can make an informed decision and possibly choose another accounting platform.
You cannot charge for something that is not available

On Sage 50 it has always been possible to run the AR/ap reports in foreign currency. I assumed this is normal and instigated a migration to Xero and now find this is not possible of Xero, despite paying Premium subscription to allow muticurrency.
Big dissappointment!!

Just to say this was raised as an issue when I started using Xero 9-10 years ago. So please don't expect change now!
They have been charging my clients extra for multi-currency in all that time but can't even allow us to produce a currency report! -

I have contacted them on Instagram and was advised to post here.
No reply or any effort to make these very necessary amendments to the current reporting. Xero any update??? -

This is super important for us as we have large client and supplier bases in EUR and USD

Agreed with @David, Xero does not implement a lot of "basic" "accounting" feature which i suspect the software is not even developed by accountant, or they just trying to let 3rd party app to solve their problem

This is very important as we wanted to see today what was the total of USD outstanding. Can Xero be developed to do this please.

Again it seems a no brainer to me; and thanks John Watkins for the suggested workaround. But it seems to me Xero need to embed key features as standard reports and not leave it to the "app world". When will you address this xero?

This is a big frustration. We capture multiple currencies and the report converts all captured currencies to GBP. This is a critical business control function and its ridiculous that this function is not available. Please have this fixed

Do we need to look at alternative accounting packages or is Xero going to resolve these issues?

This is not my first comment on this issue and obviously it has been a crucial issue for my company as it is for many others. It may help many companies to read of the solution that we have implemented using the EntryRocket app that you will find in the Xero App store. While this is not a two click fix, it is very easy to implement. All of the local currency values are of course sat waiting in the Xero backend database and while it is bizarre that Xero does not offer a suitable report to display them, they are readily accessible through direct connection to the raw data tables. Speak to Vlad at Entry Rocket, which you can do through the chatbox on their website and request the invoice history data in local currency and any other fields you require such as the payment status. When you need the data, press the button on your new EntryRocket interface to receive a CSV file. You would probably want to make the CSV file data more presentable by manipulating the data in Excel but a better solution I find is to use MS Access to link the data directly into queries and reports designed in that program. Sounds complicated? Anyone familiar with Access would be able to set this up, to your precise requirements, in a couple of hours at most. I am John at Grakka Limited and happy to discuss further if it helps.
