  1. Create the ability to update time entries for draft bills.
    We often have a manager draft the bill and between the bill being created and it being approved by a director, there is additional time added to the job. If there was an option to refresh the bill to include all time before approval, rather than having to delete the bill and start again, that would be amazing!

  2. Joint bank accounts need to be listed in the financial institution details of both parties in XPM. It would be great to have them linked so only one client needs to be updated and the changes flow to the other client, and into the tax returns for both

  4. When entering time or selecting a job on a bill for example, it would be more efficient to be able to search the drop down menu of clients, rather than having to enter the first letter then scroll (especially the 'M's where there are so many Mr, Mrs, Ms and Miss clients!)

  6. Why can’t we simplify the process of submitting and reconciling remittances from suppliers using a "receive money transaction" in Xero? Currently, when we receive a remittance through Hubdoc, we must manually change it to 'receipt' before submitting it. This creates an invoice draft in Xero, which we end up deleting as it serves no purpose, leaving the remittance stuck in Hubdoc. This process is inefficient and doesn’t make sense. We want to phase out Hubdoc, but it's currently the only place where we can store remittances. Ideally, Hubdoc should communicate directly with Xero, identifying the file as a remittance for…

    Thanks for sharing your idea here, Kelly. We don't have any plans for adding the ability to receipt remittances from Hubdoc to Xero in the short term, but we'll gauge the interest from the community in this, here.

  7. The User access for Workpapers is very poor. I find that I need to give the Staff high access levels in order to allow them to create and complete workpapers. Rather than just having a very basic Standard and Admin level, the names and levels of access should reflect more the sort of work that staff will be involved in. For example, you don't need to be highly qualified to set up a set of working papers for a new year that you can then work on, so staff members should be held up by needing line managers to initial…

  8. Workpapers Practice Staff Management is not integrated with XPM/HQ. User access should be manageable the XPM so that all Xero owned products Practice Staff access can be managed in one area. This would allow practices to control their staff in one place, rather than having to add and remove staff separately in the Workpapers App.

When inputting R&D figures for a period of account longer than 12 months (i.e. where 2x corporation tax returns are needed), we are unable to put specific R&D expenditures in a specific corporation tax periods. This is an issue with overseas workers where the periods are pre and post 1 April 2024, and where expenditure is only eligible in one of the periods. As currently, the expenditure is pro-rated, this means that non-qualifying expenditure is being brought into one of the periods.

  11. It would be good if we could update client info changes such as change of address or bank account changes directly in Xero that would then update on the ATO Portal. Having used this in another accounting package, it is an extremely efficient process that make sure the client info is updated at both sites. Making these changes directly through the ATO portal gives no (or very little) audit trail.

  12. Would love the ability to have a permission that could be turned on for particular roles / people within the practice to be able to post time against ANY job in XPM (from any place).

    Frustration comes from needing to add admin / reviewer staff to jobs who don't require the job on their workflow list but just so they can easily add time to the job from the dashboard / quick timer.

  13. Currently, Xero only provides a generic “Additional Disclosure” box when preparing accounts in Xero Tax. However, there are many cases where specific disclosures are required, such as:

    • Guarantees and Other Financial Commitments

    • Going Concern

    It would be highly beneficial to have the ability to either:

    Select from a list of standard disclosure titles, or

    Create a new custom disclosure title, which is displayed in bold in the final report—making the disclosures clearer, more compliant, and professionally formatted.

    Improves compliance with reporting requirements.

    Enhances the presentation and clarity of financial statements.

  14. AUTOMATIC SUBMISSION OF A RETURN WITH THE "DEFERRAL" DATE ALLOCATED

    It is a critical feature on a system we transition from to XERO tax, to be able to allocate to a finalized return a deferred date for the submission. On such and such date, all returns with that date and tag then come up, and with a touch of a single button all go to the ATO at the same time.   15. Currently you cannot edit the DOB in a client record in XPM for individual clients you can only edit if you export the database and re import it. For GDPR reasons it is important that we can delete DOB when a client leaves the practice. Please make this field so it can be deleted if required

  16. It would be very handy to be able to create a formula in a custom report that could reference a group/custom row that sits within a closed group as sometimes you need these rows in order to drive the formula but they dont add any helpful information to the final report.

  18. Delete or archive draft Partnership returns in Xero Tax UK - if a draft is created in error it just stays on the dashboard, eventually showing as overdue and clogging up the dashboard's useful information. If full deletion is not an option, for audit purposes, then I'd like to at least be able to archive it and remove it from my dashboard view.
