  1. It would be great to have an additional Column on the archived jobs list so that you can see if previous jobs made a profit or a loss. The WIP Write on /off balance could show on the archived screen.

  2. Would it be possible to close sections of the job that you don't use and these stay as default. (Information Tax - job details, custom fields etc.) This would make it easier to see the sections you do use. It would also be useful if you would put them in the order you prefer.

    For example to me the most important section is tasks and these are quite low down the list. I would like this to be a default setting.

  3. Since the XPM update (April 2025) milestones in XPM are now at the bottom of jobs. They should be at the top of the job (as they were previously) so that they are one of the first things we see on a job. We use milestones to remind us of important filing dates so relegating this to the bottom of jobs requires too much scrolling and is very frustrating.

  4. XPM has been updated recently (April 2025) and the update has removed the re-ordering of tasks function. We used the re-ordering function to put all tasks in chronological order e.g. monthly payroll tasks, VAT returns, year end accounts were all arranged in date order. Since the update all the re-ordering that we have completed on jobs have been changed and now all tasks are non-chronological and in a jumbled order. This is very frustrating. Please could Xero re-instate the ability to re-order tasks as required? These changes are a backwards step.

  5. With the movement towards Digital ID (MyID, Auspost Digital ID, Connect ID).

    It would be convenient if we could onboard clients using these systems. Would ensure that details were correct and identify the clients at the same time.

Given Xero's push for 'beautiful accounting' I find it very frustrating that the template report codes can't be re-ordered within their groups in the template reports and always revert to alphabetical at the client level, meaning every single client needs their custom reports formatting unnecessarily. Editing reports at every single client level for what I consider to be pretty basic formatting is really disappointing.

    The practice level report template should allow for report codes to be reordered within their groups. I don't want rent, rates and utility costs to be at the bottom of the establishment costs section because they…

  8. The ability to remove grid lines to a xero report that has been exported to excel spreadsheet then edited and then pasted back into xero reports. Currently this is extremely annoying and you might as well set it up in excel from the start. Not friendly at the moment and doesn’t look professional or doesn’t save any time.

  9. The productivity dashboard does not have the functionality to automatically account for staff start dates. It calculates capacity for the whole year which does not work for staff commencing mid year. There's no functionality to set a historic capacity level. The workaround is to manually adjust the reporting date for the productivity dashboard to account for each staff's start date or use the Time Productivity Report as an alternative. I'd love to see this feature improvement / functionality in the future.

  10. When using the field [Client] Group(s) as a criteria in step 3 of report builder, you can only specify the relevant client group name in the text field. There's currently no functionality for a drop down list of client groups to select from similar to the clients field. Requesting this as an option

  11. Would it be possible to visibly see the Government Gateway currently set up for HMRC submissions for each individual client? At the moment I believe this isn't available, however it would be helpful to be able to view this information via Practice Manager

When moving time to another job in XPM and you start typing the client name that the time is to be transferred to, it appears at the very bottom of the list, So you always have to scroll down the screen to see the job that you want to transfer it to. Could it please appear at the top of the list on the screen?

  13. It would be great if there were the ability to run a report of all business structure type Tax returns (AU, CTR, PTR, SMSF, TRT) with who is tax payable and refundable.

    At the moment, we can do this for some business structure types, but not all and when adding in these columns, it immediately removes all clients.

  14. We have just been advised that we cannot allocate write off/on to jobs rather against individuals or apportioned across those who have charged time to the job. At times, jobs are short quoted for reasons and it's unfair to impact someone's recoverability due to business decisions. There has to be a way to record such write offs without impacting staff or teams time directly rather recoverability of the job.

Due to issues with staff editing recurring jobs but not updating the job name and/or description I would like to see the staff permissions for recurring jobs amended to have a dropdown list so we can limit staff access to editing recurring jobs but leave access to view, create and delete in the same way as with clients.

  16. Would it be possible to be able to have the account codes on the pdf manual journal report pleasse. Right now its annoying not to know which codes were used without having to print the journal and then review the chart of accounts to write down the codes manually by hand. The only alternative is to use workpaer journal templates which means doing the journals twice.

  18. It would be very helpful to have a function available to search for a client under their business name. We have a lot of clients who are sole traders that have a registered business name and it would be good to see all this in XPM and be able to search for the business name to enter the client profile.

  19. Place of birth, like Director ID, is a field that is important for any individual clients who are company officeholders. Rather than having to keep this record in an external software, ideally we would have all the information about a client in one place, and as such, would appreciate a "PLACE OF BIRTH" field somewhere in the client record to facilitate this.

  20. If you send an email from the XPM Job it automatically adds the details as per the "name" field of the job as the subject in the email.

    Please add the name of the client after the insertion of the "job name" field of the job in the subject.
    If I do have a client with multiple entities, it can be confusing for the client as he does not know for which entity the mail is - he only sees the job number and the job description. If you look in history of your mails you can then also search…
