  2. We require additional report codes, particularly for financials, in the Adviser reports. More codes are needed to group and map Fixed Assets, and it's necessary to further breakdown Plant and Equipment into categories such as Furniture & Fittings and Office Equipment. We spend excessive time modifying report layouts to achieve this, and automation would be more efficient. Additional user-defined fields that are compatible with our practice would also be advantageous.

When inputting R&D figures for a period of longer than 12 months (i.e. where 2x corporation tax returns are needed), we are currently unable to put specific R&D expenditures in a specific corporation tax period. This is specifically an issue for where we have overseas workers and the second period starts after 1 April 2024 and where there are multiple projects and one or more started in the second period. Therefore, this means that expenditure is being brought into the claim period where it is non-qualifying.

  5. It would be great is XPM could have the ability to have multiple timers open / useable at once, so I can stop, start and resume between tasks as you pick up / put down. This was a great feature of MYOB AE.

    I was told that when you create a job for client A, you can only create CURNN for client A.

    We are unable to make CURNN for client A's association - such as their spouse, their business (company, trust, partnership, etc) or any client in client A's group.

    To do a CURNN for client A's spouse, i would have to create a job for the spouse then create the CURNN.

  7. It would be great is the 'report notes' were in alignment on the PDF like they are in Xero.
    Or if they showed up at all.
    We spend ages on analysis of the reports (answering questions before they are asked) and then the notes at the bottom of the page don't math up to anything.

  8. Hi,

    For the Profit and Loss data (Revenue/ Expense/ Net Profit), should be an option to select last month as currently it's bringing up mid month data and comparing with full month information (ie. running the report 20th October and comparing with either full month Sep 2024 or full month October 2024. A lot of clients invoice end of month or after month end so adds little comparison value.

    For Cash Balances, ability to select which bank accounts are displayed might be worth considering. Currently showing loans, which skews the information into negative.

  9. When we export draft financials from Xero we have to untick the option for decimals places to be removed in individual report which is time consuming.

    We would like the Xero team to provide an option that is available to exclude decimals when we export the reports as styled PDF, so that this option gets applied to all the reports while we are exporting only for the reports that are included under the financial reporting bundle.

    See attached the screenshot where we would like this option.

    We hope this is doable and Xero product team would come up with this.

  10. When you try to add a new bank account to a contact, Xero only accepts numbers and hyphens in the field. Spaces are not accepted.

    All invoices issued by Xero have the issuer's bank account on the invoice formatted with separating spaces between the number blocks.

    So when entering a new contact, I can't just copy-paste the bank account number from the invoice that was created by Xero because the format of such number doesn't comply with the formatting in Xero contact section. Every time it has to be manually edited by all the thousands of Xero users.

  11. In the Chart of Accounts, are able to add a Reporting Name, being the name that will appear in the published Financial Statements, for all accounts other than Bank type accounts.
    Would be good to be able to add a Reporting Name on a Bank type account, as for the Client they want to see on their dashboard eg Expense Account - Business Unit so they know which bank account using, but in the Financial Statements want to show as "ASB Bank - Current Account".

  13. Hi Xero Team,

    It would be highly beneficial if Xero allowed users to record Capital Works Deductions directly in the Rental Schedule for Income Tax Returns (ITR). Currently, this critical aspect of rental property deductions has to be entered manually, which defeats the purpose of using accounting software to streamline and automate tax compliance.

    Including this feature would:

    • Improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Reduce manual effort and the risk of errors.
    • Make Xero a more comprehensive tool for rental property management and tax preparation.

  14. Can Hubdoc extract the invoice reference or job reference from an invoice and add that as a job tag. Would be very useful when the invoice is on-chargeable to a project, especially when there are multiple projects/jobs on the go. E.g. building industry type jobs.

  15. I would REALLY like the ability to edit the name of a previously published report. Currently users can not do that.

    My clients frequently publish reports using all sorts of goofy meaningless or confusing names. It takes time to drill into each one to see what the report is and whether it contains the relevant information I am looking for. Clients are frequently frantic and disorganized when it comes to accounting information. Since there are VERY limited document management tools available for published reports, being able to rename them in a consistent manner would be SUPER helpful in sorting and…

  18. Xero have announced that they are removing the ability to automatically send batch files across to Kiwibank & ASB on 16th November, in order to "focus our efforts to support areas of Xero that provide the most value for customers."

    Speaking on behalf of my clients who actively use this feature, it's of huge value to them. It automates a process that otherwise involves manually downloading a file, logging into internet banking and uploading that file. It's even better for users who don't have internet banking access, but need to set up payment batches on behalf of those that do…
