Tasks. We would love to be able to manually add a task or reminder so that the next time we logged into a clients Xero we can see the reminder to check or do something.

Tasks for new files or flagged files would be very useful, like the way invoices are currently listed. The change to management of files has been great, and I hope it continues be refined. The homepage Tasks box has the potential for useful file management if the files can be tagged in a task for action by an user, either manually or according a rule and that user notified.

Yes! The usual task management functions would be incredibly valuable - allocation to users, deadline, notifications, etc.
It would also be good to clear-up ambiguity with 'tasks' used in Projects. -

Adding additional tasks manually is a must. it would be great for tasks outside of xero also such as, vehicle 3 in for service on *** date, or order materials for *** job

Tasks should able to be 1) allocated to a specific user ( eg bookkeeper/ accountant/owner), 2) able to be checked off, 3) recurring as required and 4) broken into either a "task" or announcement/comment"

This I have also been asked about. The ability to be able to add other tasks that are for things to do even outside the features of Xero would be great. Like following up on an employee for information. That way clients aren't pushed back into their emails or other programs.

Can the tasks be synced with an external task app, such as Todoist or another list app? It's tough to plan your day, week, or month if your client tasks are in one program and your day-to-day projects are in another. Perhaps they could sync with Google Calendar?! Maybe?! Possibly. That's a tall order, but the sad fact is we live and work in a world with multiple popular task apps.

US Client here, complying with multiple State Sales Tax filing dates. It'd be great if X captured those dates from our registrations and put those on our Tasks list.
Or, let us add a year's reminders. Better that we add manually, since X still doesn't recognize that "Annual" reporting doesn't necessarily refer to calendar year (1/1-12/31). For instance, our largest state (California) has Annual Sales Tax filings that run 7/1 to 6/30. I'd sleep better w/ a June 30 reminder on Tasks list. -

A good example of this, when I did a clients GST reconciliation today and adjustment was made that actually belongs to the year end 2025 which has not had year end completed yet, and to make a note about what happened would be great so when year end is done we can check notes to see any explanations.

The prototype looks amazing. I really like the 'Task' menu, but was wondering if there could be a + button or an option to add a new task. Or, from the '+' option at the top-right hand side, where there are quick access options to add a new bill, invoice, transfers, etc, there could be an option to add a new task.
