  1. The new homepage layout removed the 6-month historic bank account balance chart, so now we're only left with a 1-month view in the bank accounts tab.

    Can you consider having an option to display the balance history chart on the home page widget once again, or make the chart on the bank accounts tab configurable to display the previous 1/3/6/12 months? It might also be worth considering an option to project the next 1 month balance based upon known income and expenses.

    Thanks for sharing such detailed feedback on the bank balance charts.


    I’ve categorized this as Gaining Support. While we don't roll back to previous versions of the homepage, I’ve refined your idea to focus on making the balance charts configurable (1, 3, 6, or 12 months).


    This covers your need for historical data while allowing for future flexibility.


    Since our forum works best with one idea per post, I've focused on the chart visibility first. I’d recommend raising the "balance projection" as a separate suggestion so it can be voted on individually!

  2. With many accounts on the homepage (for example multiple currency accounts), it would be great to be able to drop the widgets into a group. Almost like the iPhones home screen. The difference would be that I could have the ability to resize the group to display the widgets in the group so they could be seen all at one (if desired). e.g. A collapsable view. e.g. All my EUR accounts grouped together.

    Rather than making the group resizable to any size, it would be limited to a 3x1 or a 1x3 arrangement, Or some other practical variation

    Hi everyone, it makes a lot of sense to want a cleaner way to organise dashboard widgets. When related items like bank accounts or invoice summaries are grouped together, it’s easier to find what you need without much scrolling..

    For now, you can use the Edit dashboard button at the bottom of the page to reorder widgets—move your most-used ones to the top and hide the rest.

    This idea is now Gaining Support, so we can see how many others would like more control over dashboard layout. We’d love to hear how you’d group your widgets—keep the votes and comments coming!

  3. The Dashboard has been used as an advertising medium lately as well as a messaging medium informing users about Xero's latest acquisition or some new feature they want users to know about.

    The dashboard is a useful feature but distractions on the dashboard kill my productivity. Also, Xero have existing ways to communicate with users (email, xero messages/notifications, community forum, Xero blog etc etc) - they should leave the Dashboard for business use.

    They should also leave support messages for business support use only - have a look next time you contact support - they avoid answering the question but…

  4. It would be great for those that have various type of color blindness to be able to change the color, say the user has an issue with the color red or green, being able to change the color would be beneficial.

  6. To have the search function look up bank accounts by name or number. As we have approx 80 bank accounts in one Xero dashboard scrolling to find the correct one is very time consuming, so a search function would be very handy.

    Thanks for your idea, Simone. Gosh that is a lot of bank accounts I can see why a search would help. No immediate changes planned for this but I'll share your feedback with our product team and we'll get a sense of others that'd find this useful from your idea, here. 🙂

We have various users from accounts administrator to operations managers and the new home screen will automatically show them extra information they don't necessarily need, as in, the operations managers should ideally have the bills and invoices front and centre and not really each other's credit cards. Also, the profit and loss widget is extremely annoying being there as our management is presented with monthly accrual basis accounts and use a custom P+L that require a large number of journals done so the profit and loss widget is wrong until the journals get done. At the moment, the only way…

    Hi Debbie, thanks for sharing this idea! Giving a Subscriber control over the team’s homepage layout would be really useful—helping everyone focus on the right tasks while keeping sensitive information private.

    Right now, each user customises their own dashboard, so it can be tricky for admins to know exactly what’s visible. For now, User Roles can limit access to certain data, or you can share a simple SOP with a screenshot of your preferred layout for staff to match.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would find this helpful. Your feedback really helps guide what we look at next.

    Appreciate the interest this idea is receiving about the new homepage experience. Thanks for your input!

    It would be good to clarify here - when you say you'd like to search Unreconciled transactions, would you be wanting to do this across all banks at once, or within each bank widget?

    We don't have any plans around this right now, but are continuing to track the interest here.

  9. The ability to access the setting for each menu item is great.
    The ability to create a sales invoice for billable expenses from the billable expense is outstanding.
    The button to View transactions on each bank account on the home page is excellent but I would like this button for accounts that have items to reconcile as well. Fewer clicksHelp banner on each page. I would like to be able to disable this permanently for established clients.Sales tab.

    Appreciate the extra details shared by everyone here.

    We'll continue to get a track of the interest in a specific widget for accessing reports from the Homepage and share if there are any developments planned around this.

    Right now, just to highlight what is possible - You can favourite a report from the Reports centre including a custom report you've set up to make this accessible from the Reporting drop down menu in the navigation.

  11. We use cash basis for reporting, but utilize the COA watchlist in the accrual basis.

    Having the ability to choose your accounting basis on the Chart of Account watchlist would allow users to take full advantage of the COA watchlist without having to change their reporting basis to one basis to utilize the watchlist and back to the other for reporting.

    Thanks for sharing this idea!


    I can see how frustrating it is to have to jump back and forth into your Advanced Settings just to get the view you need on your dashboard.


    The Account Watchlist is meant to give you a quick "at-a-glance" look at your numbers, and having to change your global reporting basis to make it useful definitely adds extra steps to your day.


    I’ve assessed this and moved it to Gaining Support. This will allow our product team to see how many other users are running their operations on a different basis than their compliance reporting.


    I’ve also updated your title to: Dashboard - Independent accounting basis toggle for Account Watchlist to make it easier for others to find and vote on.

  13. Widget for planned supplier bill payments - either a summary of total by planned date, or detailed view of the next planned date payments by supplier (e.g. flexes to show planned payments in current week). Helpful for review prior to batch payment runs.

  14. Would be great to customise the Homepage across all your 450 clients at once via a global setting. Then deal with outliers individually on their own homepage.

    Not sure why it's designed for single org users only. Need a way to do this on scale please!

  15. Can we be allowed to change the time selection on the cash in and out view (eg to 12/13 or even 18 months?) seems to be stuck on 6 months for me. I think to see trends you really need to see at least a year

    You're right that the current 'Total Cash In and Out' widget is fixed to a 6-month view.


    While you can see longer periods by running a Cash Summary report, I understand that having that 12 or 18-month trend visible immediately on your dashboard would be much more powerful for spotting seasonal patterns.


    I’ve classified this as 'Gaining Support' to see how many others would like more flexibility with this widget's timeframe

  16. ​Love the look and ability to customise widgets for clients. It would be great if we, as Advisors, can specify then the client can change.

    Displaying the client logo in the top left is great but way too small to be effective

  17. Where there are headings in the columns of the widget, being able to SORT by that heading..

    For eg, "expenses to review" can be sorted by any of the columns: "submitted by", "expenses to review" or "Amount".

    This would be helpful also in CoA watchlist, Recent Invoice payments or any other unseen widgets which have a list with column headings.

  18. New layout is great now I've got used to it. I do miss the Tax and Reporting box where I had quick links to useful items such as VAT return, CIS return. Could you add this as an optional widget on the new dashboard please? Thanks.

    Hi Andrea, appreciate your sharing on how having a “Tax and Reporting” shortcut on the dashboard would make accessing tax returns and key reports quicker and simpler. Navigating through multiple menus can slow things down, especially when deadlines are looming.

    In the meantime, you can access your VAT return directly from the Tax menu on the navigation bar for quicker access.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how much this shortcut could help make compliance tasks faster and more efficient.

  19. When refreshing the bank feed we used to get a "loading" type of notification on the old layout on the homepage when it was actively refreshing. Now nothing seems to be showing but when I switch back to the old layout I can see that it's "loading" (or if I click on the bank itself).

    It's helpful to know if the feeds is "thinking" or not so I don't prematurely bug the client to fix on their end. And an overview of all the accounts that are loading is nice instead of having to click on each one. Thanks!

    Hi everyone, it does sound like a bank feed status indicator would be a really helpful addition, giving you a quick sense of whether your imported statement lines are fully up-to-date or still processing.

    We understand how important it is to have that confirmation—without a clear visual cue, it can be hard to tell if the feed is still loading, has completed, or if something has gone wrong. Knowing the current status at a glance helps you trust the numbers and act quickly if there’s an issue.

    As such, we've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest in making bank feed status more visible on the homepage. It would be great to hear from the community and understand how this could make a difference for everyday workflows.
