Homepage - Add the ability to group widgets together
With many accounts on the homepage (for example multiple currency accounts), it would be great to be able to drop the widgets into a group. Almost like the iPhones home screen. The difference would be that I could have the ability to resize the group to display the widgets in the group so they could be seen all at one (if desired). e.g. A collapsable view. e.g. All my EUR accounts grouped together.
Rather than making the group resizable to any size, it would be limited to a 3x1 or a 1x3 arrangement, Or some other practical variation
Hi everyone, it makes a lot of sense to want a cleaner way to organise dashboard widgets. When related items like bank accounts or invoice summaries are grouped together, it’s easier to find what you need without much scrolling..
For now, you can use the Edit dashboard button at the bottom of the page to reorder widgets—move your most-used ones to the top and hide the rest.
This idea is now Gaining Support, so we can see how many others would like more control over dashboard layout. We’d love to hear how you’d group your widgets—keep the votes and comments coming!

Since al the blocks look the same, it's hard to find what I'm looking for or get any value by just glancing at the screen. Something as simple as groups or sections we can add a label to would help a lot! Overall like the new vibe tho :)

Today I learned with shock that the new dashboard only supports 50 bank accounts for display. Unfortunately, we have more accounts which on the new dashboard layout will not be shown. That is not good for our organisation. The workaround via the "list of accounts" is cumbersome and definitely not an improvement.
If more than 50 bank accounts cannot be displayed on the dashboard or "Home" page, would it be possible to have folders on the dashboard like folders on a PC desktop or on a smartphone? Then I could allocate around 10 bank accounts into one folder according to the organigram and cost centres of our organisation. In that case I would have around 7 folders on the Home page into which the bank accounts could be distributed. If that would be possible, that would be a real and useful improvement and even better than the current dashboard. That would make the dashboard look much cleaner and tidier. The new dashboard is really cladded and not nice to look at.
As PC, laptops and smartphones work a lot with folders for placing apps, I assume it should not be too complicated to have that feature also embedded in Xero.
Should that not be possible, the new dashboard will be a real step backwards for our organisation.
Kind regards,

This would be so great. I am having terrible trouble arranging my bank accounts the way I would - it seems like I put one where I want and then the one I wanted to put it next to has moved has moved to a completely different part of the screen - I would really like to be able to herd them all into one area - currently it is like herding cats!

It would be great to group items under headers and collapse the group to give the home page more breathing room.
For example, when your team has multiple credit cards, I don't need to see them every day, but as an expandable/collapsible group, it would be helpful to have it easy enough to track when I need to.
The same could be said for bank accounts, etc.
If users could customise their groups, it would better align them with their business needs.

For clients with many bank accounts it would be useful to be able to easily organise these into columns. For example, current accounts, savings accounts, credit card accounts and factoring accounts from left to right. At the moment, when you move an account it reorders the rest of them from start to finish, making moving them into some semblance of organisation incredibly frustrating (if not impossible). It's like a puzzle.
Even if the above change is implemented, the look of the new homepage is incredibly busy and disorganised. It is visually confusing and it will be very frustrating to work with. I see that we will all be moved over to the new view in a couple of weeks. This seems very soon given how much work is required to make the new homepage suitable for users.

ability to utilise rows and columns to help to group widgets is good. Currently it seems that moving one widget shifts everything left to right so the columned contents change

this could also then be combined with a total cash at bank widget 0 total credit card balance etc at the of the grouped of widgets and when collapsed

It would be helpful to group items on the home page into sections that can be opened and closed.
For example:
All bank accounts under Banking
Finance leases (connected as bank accounts) under Finance Leases
Credit cards under Credit Cards, and
Other/(s)
This would allow users to collapse sections they don’t need and quickly see only what matters to them, making the home page cleaner and easier to use.

Like others here, I was very disappointed when I switched to the new home page to see such a cluttered mess.
This would be greatly helped by the ability to manage different sections, in particular one section to put all the bank accounts (we have 13+ bank accounts for different Wise currencies) that used to be neatly arranged on the right-hand side.
Also, the ability to leave gaps and fix things to start on a new row - it's currently really hard to arrange anything, because moving one widget moves all the others.
