Homepage - Administrative control to manage widget layouts for other users
We have various users from accounts administrator to operations managers and the new home screen will automatically show them extra information they don't necessarily need, as in, the operations managers should ideally have the bills and invoices front and centre and not really each other's credit cards. Also, the profit and loss widget is extremely annoying being there as our management is presented with monthly accrual basis accounts and use a custom P+L that require a large number of journals done so the profit and loss widget is wrong until the journals get done. At the moment, the only way to update so that each person gets the relevant information looks to be that I'll have to request everyone's login details and change the homescreen myself while logged into each person!
Hi Debbie, thanks for sharing this idea! Giving a Subscriber control over the team’s homepage layout would be really useful—helping everyone focus on the right tasks while keeping sensitive information private.
Right now, each user customises their own dashboard, so it can be tricky for admins to know exactly what’s visible. For now, User Roles can limit access to certain data, or you can share a simple SOP with a screenshot of your preferred layout for staff to match.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would find this helpful. Your feedback really helps guide what we look at next.

Can it be possible to close boxes that have no relevance to the Dashboard user.
Eg. Office staff not needing to know Nett Profit or Loss - not their business. -

New Homepage has allowed for sensitive information to be displayed for Staff they previously did not see, ie Profit and Loss. Client has no way to control this unless ask Staff member to switch to old or Customise. That can cause questions and issues.
Solution:
1. Give Subscriber and/or Advisor the right to control what Standard Users see on Homepage or switch to old, and
2. Create a new Permission called say, Invoice & Coding, gives Staff access to Invoicing and able to code Bank Statements and Invoicing and Bank Reconciliation Reports. -

The home page now shows all the bank accounts and profits of the business to everyone that must not see that type of confidential info. Almost all the employees had to be loaded as advisors so that they can be able to print the necessary reports because Xero does not have th ability to allow / disallow users certain functions = like example the creditors controller must not be able to see the bank accounts or the profit of the business
