  1. Suggestion: please allow us to color code the cards. This would help visually organize things. For example, bank accts one color, Invoices and Bills another, analysis another color.

    Thanks for your suggestion, Karin. Appreciate there are different ways customers find the homepage would work best for them.

    We'll track the interest in being able to colour code cards from your idea here. This isn't something we have plans for atm, but I'll be sure to share if there are any updates.

  2. Please derive the Home page Profit and Loss accounting basis from the business setup setting i.e. cash or Accrual.

    This issue has been raised before and closed by a naive XERO person with no understanding of how a USER thikns or expects to use the system.

    The request by the user is not "existing functionality" as stated by the incorrect Xero staff. Being instructed to leave the homepage, go the the Dashboard (some of us dont need to use those), changing a setting in a Dashboard widget and then come back to the Homepage is not a helpful instruction.

    Hi Michael, appreciate you re-raising this idea with us and would like to provide some clarification on how Profit or loss widget accounting basis is currently derived.

    This is driven by the organisations Report preferences - Report preferences can only be set and changed by a user with the Adviser role in the organisation so if you do not have this permission you would need to contact another user who does.

    Understand there is also the request for having an independent toggle that can be actioned from the Homepage and we will continue tracing interest for this here.


    In terms of how the idea forums statuses work - When a post is moved to Existing functionality, or Feedback comments and votes are turned off however if you disagree or would like to provide feedback about the response there is an option within the email update you'll have received so you…

    Thanks for your idea, Ben. Appreciate for users that process quotes this could be quite useful as a quick indicator and action item.

    We don't have immediate plans for this but are considering improvements to the tasks widget so will be sure to share if there are updates on this.

  4. have an optional widget where you can set up your own quick ratio calculation, so you can see if you are trading insolvent or not, at a glance. The idea would be to tick off the accounts in the chart of accounts that are relevant e.g. bank accs, inventory, debtors, payables... but make the choices entirely the choice of the user

    🌟 Thanks for sharing this idea.

    We can see the value in having an optional way to monitor short-term solvency at a glance, whether through a custom quick ratio widget or the ability to run a cash flow report. The flexibility to choose which accounts are included would make this more relevant for different businesses and reporting preferences.

    We’re moving this idea to gaining support so we can better understand how many others would find this useful.

  5. Of the seven accounts listed on my homepage, only 3 are now required. Please provide the functionality to hide / remove accounts which are no longer valid and reconfigure the layout to suit a user's individual needs. i.e. by click and dragging the boxes into your own preferred layout.

    Thanks for sharing this idea and how the new homepage impacts your workflow.

    Right now, you can:

    • Use Customise homepage to add or remove whole widgets (including Bank accounts and Chart of accounts watchlist), and
    • Choose which bank accounts appear in the Bank accounts widget, and which GL accounts appear in the Chart of accounts watchlist via Select/Edit accounts.

    There isn’t a broader option to hide individual GL accounts across the homepage, and this isn’t on our current roadmap, so we’re moving this idea to Gaining support so others can vote and add their use cases.


    While we can’t commit to a change here right now, your feedback is logged and will be considered as we continue to iterate on the new homepage experience.

  6. P&L Historical Comparison Widget - Being able to see either as a line graph or table, how this year, quarter, month, etc compares with previous periods. Top level numbers like on the mobile app, but with variance or % increase/decrease

  7. The text that says '1 of 3 overdue' is so misleading. I took it to mean there were 3 overdue invoices as the the whole line is red. I kept looking for the three overdue invoices, but there weren't three, there was only one. Maybe I'm just dumb, but there's got to be a better way of saying that.

    Hi Ernie, we understand that being able to view Net Assets in the Account Watchlist would make it easier to monitor your overall financial position from the dashboard.

    We’ll continue to track interest to help our product teams understand the value of expanding the accounts available in Watchlist.


  9. Bank feed showing as last updated Jan 1 but it used to show that no bank feed had been set up. Please can we go back to the more meaningful description.

    I've been asking new clients to check their bank feed when I should have still been chasing them to set it up. Now they're totally confused.

    Hi Della, thanks for sharing this idea. Clear status wording on the dashboard really matters, especially when you are managing clients and keeping track of accounts that need attention.

    We hear the need for clearer messaging on unlinked accounts, like showing “No bank feed set up” instead of a generic “Last updated [date]” when there is no connection in place.

    We’ll continue to track interest and share it with the relevant product teams.

    Right now, the new Xero homepage doesn’t support creating your own fully custom widgets. You can customise which of the existing widgets you see, change their order and (for some widgets) adjust their size, but there isn’t a way to build and plug in a brand‑new widget type yet.


    We have moved this to Gaining support, while we can’t promise if or when custom widgets will be available, votes and comments on this idea are really valuable, so please keep adding any specific examples of what you’d like a custom widget to do. That kind of detail really helps our product team when they’re exploring what to build next.

  12. We utilise the chart of accounts watchlist as a quick snap shot of our month. It would be great to be able to add a previous month option to this. So we can see this month, previous month & YTD in this watchlist without having to run a P&L report to cross check everything

    Hi Alain, thanks for contributing your idea. We can see how having clearer visibility of bank feed reauthentication dates would help, especially when managing multiple accounts.

    Having expiry information visible directly from the bank account widget on the homepage could make it easier to stay ahead of feeds disconnecting and avoid interruptions to transaction imports.

    We understand the value of keeping these reminders more visible within day-to-day workflows, so we’ve updated the idea to Gaining Support while we continue tracking the feedback and interest shared here.

    Thanks for the feedback here, team. We don't have any plans for enabling the ability to return to a default / initial state of the homepage, for now we'll keep a watchful eye on the support in this idea, here.

    However we have a somewhat related idea that our product teams do intend on exploring further around providing template or view options to help users with basic layouts that you may be interested in joining too.

  15. Provide an option to eliminate animations. The growing bars is a distraction, I find myself waiting for the movement to stop before proceeding. I'm here to work, I want the information - I'm not here for entertainment.

    Thanks so much for taking the time to share how the moving graphs on the homepage feel for you – I’m really sorry they’re causing frustration and distraction.

    We introduced the animations to help bring key information (like money in and out, or what’s owed and due) to life and make it easier to see changes at a glance when the page first loads, rather than having everything appear as a static block of numbers. The bars “rising” from the baseline are there to show the most up-to-date figures and make comparisons a bit clearer, not to get in the way of your work.

    That said, we completely understand that movement on screen doesn’t work well for everyone, and it’s important you can focus on your tasks without visual noise. At the moment there isn’t a way to turn these homepage graphs off, or to disable the animation just for…

    We’ve moved this idea to Gaining support. This means it’s not currently scheduled on our roadmap, but we agree it could improve key banking workflows, so we’re now watching community votes and comments to help us prioritise it alongside other homepage and bank feeds work.


    Please keep adding any extra details about your workflow (for example, how often you’re refreshing and how many bank accounts you manage) and encourage others who’d benefit to add their vote — that will help us understand the impact when we’re reviewing future changes to the homepage bank accounts widget.

  17. It would be great if the number of billable expenses - outstanding (as per the report of the same name) could be included in the tasks widget - ie expenses to be oncharged. Currently I have to run the report to check if there are any oncharges to complete, but it would be great if I could just see the number on the list. We use this feature for almost all of the organisations we look after (20+) and it would save time and ensure we are oncharging more promptly.

We're taking feedback about this widget on board and considering what additional items would be most useful to customers.   18. It would be great to have the option to display the widgets in list form, like the old display.
    As a neurodiverse person, I work in lists. With the old version every time i logged in, i would work my way down the list of accounts, ensuring i would finish before moving onto the next. This is particularly important as we have over 10 accounts.
    Currently the page feels cluttered and has no flow. I can speak for the neurodiverse community, that it is a struggle to go into the homepage and not feel overstimulated. I can see 6 blue…

    Thanks so much for taking the time to share this. I really appreciate how clearly you’ve explained the impact the new homepage is having for you, especially around feeling overstimulated and losing the clear flow the previous list-style layout gave you.

    I can absolutely see why having a list view would make the experience feel more manageable, particularly when you’re working across so many accounts. Your feedback is thoughtful and specific, and it helps show how important flexibility and accessibility are in this space.

    We’re moving this feedback into gaining support internally so it can help build visibility around the need for a list-style option and a less overwhelming homepage experience.

  19. Order of Bank Accounts used to be based on the way they were organized from the Bank Accounts page, and then each user could rearrange their Homepage widgets. Now this sorting doesn't seem to impact the way the Homepage is sorted.

    AND, if new accounts are added, not only does the old Bank Accounts page order have anything to do with the new Homepage, but new accounts are not automatically added to the dashboard. You have to:
    1) Edit Homepage
    2) Add Widget
    3) Toggle the New Bank Accounts on to Show on the Homepage
    4) Save
    5) Scroll down…

    Thanks for the feedback here team, understand how reflecting the order of the bank accounts from the bank accounts page would be useful for some users.

    We'll continue to track interest in this here and let you know if there are any updates to the behaviour of ordering planned, however it's not in the pipeline at present.

    In terms of showing new bank accounts - the first bank account you add is shown by default. As you add new bank accounts there is a banner that'll show to let you know new accounts are available and you can use the Edit homepage option to choose which widgets you'd like to have shown on your homepage.

  20. Add the year to the date that is showing on the bank account widget. It gets confusing sometimes. Having 15 Feb 2026 would be easier than Feb 15.

    Appreciate users have differing preferences in how they'd like dates to be formatted in Xero, Leanne. We don't have any plans for changing this at present but will get a better sense of the wider interest from the community here.
