Homepage - Ability to customize
It would be great for those that have various type of color blindness to be able to change the color, say the user has an issue with the color red or green, being able to change the color would be beneficial.
Thanks for letting us know changes that could improve your experience with the new homepage. It's great to have your feedback on Product ideas here.
We're keeping an eye on what our customers are sharing back here and if there are any updates to share we will let you know, here.

Being able to apply different colors to different types of widgets (for examples bank accounts vs credit card accounts) would help me a lot.

The white/pale grey can also be really intense. Any chance of a Dark Mode?

I need to get rid of the red text - the colour contrast is insufficient and trying to read it gives me a migraine because the text swims.
The colour choices fail WCAG accessibility success criterion 1.4.6 and the inability to customise to the accessibility needs of the user fails criterion 1.4.8

Oddly, even when you do upload a logo, it doesn't appear to be used anywhere and still just displays two initials instead of the graphic - seems like a bug to me.

Ironically this was one of the things the balance history chart (which was removed from the account widgets) helped to identify.
Previously, all credit cards had a red/negative chart identifying negative balances; current accounts without overdrafts were always showing a blue/positive chart. When they were fixed/placed in separate columns it was very easy to know what was where (even if a bank account went negative, bank accounts always in column 1, and credit cards always in column 2 - can't do that now, they move around, especially if you have more than 10 bank accounts or so, they need to flow left-to-right at the bottom and you can have 3 or 4 columns to fill on large/wide screens).
With the removal of the charts on the account widgets, they all now look the same.
It's made even worse with the removal of the brackets around negative numbers, at a quick glance the negative symbol in front of a number is so easily overlooked. There's a reason accountants have used brackets for negative numbers for years. Why some product designer decided that years of accounting standards should be ignored (within an accounting product) is really beyond me.

Colour options for bank accounts & credit cards so they are easily identifiable. i.e my client uses different banks with different feeds, would be great to have some colours.

The bank accounts and widgets feel very uniform. At a glance, it’s hard to differentiate between them. Adding color-coding or other visual cues would make it much easier to quickly identify and navigate key information.

Add background colour to dashboard tiles so each account can be seen differently and easily. v useful when managing multiple accounts.

Could we please have some more color! The new layouts are great and bigger, but the amount of white makes it harder to read and follow. More color fading in backgrounds and sections would help a lot!

Given several feedback points on the forum, I feel now is the time to investigate exposing greater visual customisation options - not just for the homepage, although this could be an initial test ground, but also across the whole of the product.
Most of these can be implemented quite easily through adjustments in CSS, driven by user preferences, ensuring that Xero holistically adopts a consistent set of rendering styles. There should be zero impact on the actual functionality, with the majority of the changes/improvements sitting entirely within the presentation/UI of the product.
These preferences would include visual and accessibility options, such as:
1. The ability to choose whether borders are shown around widgets.
2. How negative numbers are shown, whether in red/black and using minus or brackets.
3. How many columns (a maximum) are shown on the dashboard (2, 3, or 4).
4. Possibility for "dark" and "light" themes, or even a custom theme defined by the user.
5. Whether high-contract colouring is adopted, or other accessibility options such as font-size.There are many feedback points regarding these individual issues - rather than being fixed by Xero itself (which is what the Xero responses seem to imply), I believe the majority of the feedback is showing that we need visual customisation/flexibility to ensure that Xero works within our individual workflows and our own business/working environments.
To be honest, I'm surprised this further level of flexibility has not been considered as part of the new homepage - although I appreciate to get a consistent level of customisation across the whole product would be involve further effort (especially if those areas have not been designed to support easy customisation through CSS).

I manage three Xero entities.
The top bar is the same (blue) colour for all three so it's not immediately obvious which entity I'm managing.

Color coding tiles for easy organization and access.
I'd love to be able to color code the different homepage tiles and rearrange them so I have a bit more control over the hierarchy and can visually organize my account/ invoices etc.
Thanks!

Can we have the ability to colour code the tiles on our dashboard? This might make the new layout more user friendly

Being able to change the colour for different companies, means I dont accidently add information to the wrong company.
