Users & Setup - Automatically redirect to the previous page after a session timeout and re-login
At the moment if not all tasks have been completed in a work day, opening up the browser window again from where you left off will log you out. When you log in again, you are diverted to the homepage with no way of clicking back to go back to the page you were on. This is a massive waste of time, please allow us to restore our tabs which had things like custom reports and other things we started working on.
2 votesHi everyone, we understand that being sent back to the homepage after a session timeout can interrupt your workflow, especially when you’re in the middle of a specific report or transaction. It can be a bit inconvenient to lose your place and have to navigate back, and we completely get how that affects your productivity.
Some community members have mentioned ways to work around this, like keeping an eye on the session timeout or using browser bookmarks for deep links. At the same time, we agree that a smoother experience that automatically returns you to your last page would be really helpful.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how this “return to page” functionality could save you time and make your workflow easier.

Customer List with
List of Customers - Incoming and Overdue Invoices
It would be great to have a widget that displays a list of customers that have a currently pending payment. It would also be even better to have a widget that displays a list of customers with currently overdue invoices, showing the amount of overdue invoices for each client and and total amount overdue for each client. I am thinking an abbreviated view of the Contacts>Customers list.

Homepage | Invoice and Bills widgets - Option to make smaller
Make invoices to pay & bills boxes smaller these are the two functions I use most & now have to scroll down every time i want to use them

VAT Widget - incorrect error between accounting periods
When you're between (or at the start of) VAT accounting periods and the following are both true:
- The previous period MTD submission has been submitted to HMRC
- There are no transactions on the current period
The VAT widget on the homepage displays a generic system error. This I feel is incorrect and confusing. This error suggests the widget could not retrieve the relevant VAT information. In actual fact, there is information there - it's just empty. (For the technically minded it's the difference between an empty set versus no set being there.)
It would be better for the different scenarios…

Better UX
Firstly, for the price point, it would be valuable to have stronger tools for margin analysis on COGS. The underlying data is already in the system, but there’s limited ability to run flexible reports to properly evaluate performance based on how we’ve coded transactions.
Secondly, an inventory function would add significant value. Each order entered effectively represents an inventory movement, yet there’s no simple way to load, adjust, or manage stock levels within the system. This would be particularly helpful for small businesses.

Homepage - Reduce Motion for accessibility
Looking at the new interface at https://www.xero-reimagined-nav-hp.com/ the widgets fly in from the side, and the charts all animate from zero to their full value. I have an accessibility requirement to have reduced motion, and have selected this option on my computer which the new Xero website is ignoring. Websites can use this selection as shown in https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/@media/prefers-reduced-motion and https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/Techniques/css/C39. Can you please implement the best practice for accessibility, and ensure all users can comfortably use your updated website by removing unnecessary animation when requested with the reduce motion option? have an optional widget where you can set up your own quick ratio calculation, so you can see if you are trading insolvent or not, at a glance. The idea would be to tick off the accounts in the chart of accounts that are relevant e.g. bank accs, inventory, debtors, payables... but make the choices entirely the choice of the user

widget
I'd like to see a widget that allows a note to be added to the homepage, it doesn't need to be complicated, just like a sticky note so clients and our team can see any bespoke needs for the account. It could be used for so many different things and be informal. A bit like the discuss box but as an overall discuss widget.

Like many business' we operate more on qrtly budgets than monthly due to month to month volatility.
I love the chart of accounts widget but for us it would ideally be able to show this quarter as well as this month2 votesHi there, thanks for sharing this! it’s clear that having a quarterly budget figure on the Chart of Accounts watchlist widget would make managing your finances even easier. We can see how having that data live on the dashboard would give you a quick, clear snapshot for proactive planning without needing to switch to the full Budget Manager report.

Easy transaction reconciliation
To be able to reconcile secondary bank accounts quicker/easier than going into each transaction. Something similar to the remove and redo would work - where you can highlight relevant transactions and reconcile them all at once

HomePage Idea - New Update
I would recommend this main command like Purchases, Sales, Payroll, Tax Account, Banking should be on the top dashboard; however, its look is very clear, simple, and convenient similar to the old Xero.
