  2. I've just reconciled 38 bank transactions and returned to the home screen. It still says I have 38 items to reconcile. The Homepage therefore does not reflect the correct figures for debtors and creditors. 5 minutes later I refresh and its still telling me I have 38 items to reconcile! Furthermore, the homepage is way too cluttered and busy :o(

  3. I am just trying to share basic feedback on the overall constant changes and updates to the software. Its ridiculus. I am all for needed updates but at this point it seems like changes are just being made to keep people busy. As far as employees in numerous divisions is concerned, everytime there is an update with multiple changes that doesn't seem to effect much, it takes them a few days to figure everything out. It slows production down and for what, so the dashboard can look different. We don't need to reinvent the wheel guys. I have been a…

  4. Provide an option to limit the number of cards per row/column to return to the old vertical format. I am used to a quick vertical up-and-down review of multiple bank accounts. I now have to scan left-to-right across a busy, cluttered set of cards. Please re-add an option to view bank accounts in a vertical manner.

  6. The graphs are too big - and there needs to be an option to remove them - also % under the graphs or % of overdue both # & $ would be better - overdue ageing instead of graphs

    The windows are too big and the windows are cumbersome to reorganise and dont stay reorganised.

    Favourite reports window has disappeared off the home page

    Having to refresh the widget windows is annoying - why cant they just be updated when you return home?

  7. If you're going to make us refresh every widget manually, don't remove the refresh button when we do. Let's leave it there in case we need to refresh again! We now have to refresh the whole page in order to have the widget refresh buttons return. How ridiculous

  8. It would be helpful to merge like-cards into one Parent card. The Parent Card could have a customized title that makes sense to the business. It would be intuitive if we could merge cards under a Parent Card by dragging like-cards together... similar to how you can merge apps to create a folder in the Apple iPhone. In Trello (free version), I like the way you can see the title of the Parent Card, with the Child Cards stacked in mini-card style.   9. Suggestion: please allow us to color code the cards. This would help visually organize things. For example, bank accts one color, Invoices and Bills another, analysis another color.

    Thanks for your suggestion, Karin. Appreciate there are different ways customers find the homepage would work best for them.

    We'll track the interest in being able to colour code cards from your idea here. This isn't something we have plans for atm, but I'll be sure to share if there are any updates.

  10. Please make Draft Invoices in a much larger font and at the top of the widget. The widget is ridiculously large and Draft Invoice link is in microscopic font, lost at the bottom. You have to actively hunt for it. Please don't tell me I can rearrange my home page. I've done that. It makes no difference. This is another unhelpful change forced upon us.

    Hi Lou, a little round about to what you're asking here but our teams are working on an improvement to the sizing of some widgets that I believe will help with the feedback you've shared.

    We're building smaller size of the Invoices owed to you widget which will feature the drafts option beside the graph so it's more visible. 🙂 I'll come back and let you know once this is released.

    Hi team, we appreciate the feedback we've received around the need to manually refresh widgets on the homepage for organisations with higher volumes of data.

    Our product teams have been paying close attention and monitoring usage and we have recently released an update that will improve the experience for these larger organisations - Reducing the automatic update from 24 hours to 1 hour. Meaning your data is more recent and up to date, and saving you from having to manually refresh as often. 🙂

    To reconfirm the rationale and how this works - To help the homepage load efficiently, some widgets in these organisations show data from the last 1 hour by default.

    • These widgets are designed to automatically update with the latest figures from the last 1 hour when you log in.

  12. Please derive the Home page Profit and Loss accounting basis from the business setup setting i.e. cash or Accrual.

    This issue has been raised before and closed by a naive XERO person with no understanding of how a USER thikns or expects to use the system.

    The request by the user is not "existing functionality" as stated by the incorrect Xero staff. Being instructed to leave the homepage, go the the Dashboard (some of us dont need to use those), changing a setting in a Dashboard widget and then come back to the Homepage is not a helpful instruction.

    Hi Michael, appreciate you re-raising this idea with us and would like to provide some clarification on how Profit or loss widget accounting basis is currently derived.

    This is driven by the organisations Report preferences - Report preferences can only be set and changed by a user with the Adviser role in the organisation so if you do not have this permission you would need to contact another user who does.

    Understand there is also the request for having an independent toggle that can be actioned from the Homepage and we will continue tracing interest for this here.


    In terms of how the idea forums statuses work - When a post is moved to Existing functionality, or Feedback comments and votes are turned off however if you disagree or would like to provide feedback about the response there is an option within the email update you'll have received so you…

  14. List of Customers - Incoming and Overdue Invoices

    It would be great to have a widget that displays a list of customers that have a currently pending payment. It would also be even better to have a widget that displays a list of customers with currently overdue invoices, showing the amount of overdue invoices for each client and and total amount overdue for each client. I am thinking an abbreviated view of the Contacts>Customers list.

  16. The new homepage is an accessibility nightmare. None of the fonts are dark enough on the excessively white background. I only have slight vision issues and I'm really struggling to read it with the light fonts and the clutter. I would hate to have a vision impairment worse than mine because this new homepage is basically unreadable and inaccessible.

    I've recommended to Xero on multiple occasions to please hire an accessibility manager who can help them avoid these things, including during times when they've specifically put out requests to have their new pages tested before release, but they continue to…

  19. When you're between (or at the start of) VAT accounting periods and the following are both true:

    • The previous period MTD submission has been submitted to HMRC
    • There are no transactions on the current period

    The VAT widget on the homepage displays a generic system error. This I feel is incorrect and confusing. This error suggests the widget could not retrieve the relevant VAT information. In actual fact, there is information there - it's just empty. (For the technically minded it's the difference between an empty set versus no set being there.)

    It would be better for the different scenarios…

    We don't have immediate plans for this but are considering improvements to the tasks widget so will be sure to share if there are updates on this.
