1. Locate the widgets more specifically.

   The new layout is really confusing because the widgets move when the screen changes size so unless you always have Xero full screen they are never where I expect them to be. I don't need to be hunting for widgets on my Home Screen.

   Please can you make it possible for me to anchor some wedges to the left hand side of my screen so they always appear in a column on the left margin. I want my bank accounts to appear in a column on the left, and then the other widgets can flow around if you wish in any space to the right or below. At the moment it is stressful to use.

   Why is so much space given to company banners, messages and increasingly, advertising? Please keep this minimal and focus on compact useful information.

5. This is a UI downgrade

   Please inform your UI designer that this is a very poor downgrade. As a database systems developer of 35 years experience I can honestly say that unfortunately the new layout is a retrograde step.

   1 It removes the organisational functionality
   2 It removes the visual oversight of account balances
   3 The widgets are way too big making the screen very long
   4 The transition to the new format involves a lot of re-organisation

   1 - It reduces the ability to organise the widgets (left / right column) and makes it very difficult to organise. My business maintains multiple bank accounts, credit cards and payment platforms (26) which I organise in the left column and many income sources and selling platforms (17) which I organise in the right column. The new homepage does not allow this and simply puts everything sequentially. Taking away a feature like this is a retrograde step.

   2 - Removing the chart from the widget means a quick visual overview of the state of accounts is removed meaning every account balance must be numerically checked, taking much longer and this also loses the historic comparison ability.

   3 - On the new homepage means that the widgets are bigger meaning it takes much longer to review all accounts. I currently PGDN down 12 times to reach the bottom of our accounts, the new design means I PGDN 15 times. Spreading out information and adding more white space is not a good thing. Where are the other account widget configurations, like a compact version?

   4 - Re-organising the new page will be very time consuming as moving accounts around as they become more or less important, and therefore moved higher or lower on the page, is very time consuming. Surely the widgets can be reduced to single line entries when editing the dashboard rather than scrolling up and down to move a new account from the bottom of the screen all the way to the top (which then shifts all other accounts so left/right column organisation is not an option).

   Sorry Xero, this is a bad update! My career would never have lasted as long as it did if I had enforced this kind of UI downgrade on the many thousands of users of my developments. Do you have a pre-development consultation with actual users as to what they need, or do you just employ IT consultants and UI designers to develop what they THINK users want?

   I can post various ideas on what I believe we, the users, actually require from a homepage and the widgets if requested. Apart from this downgrade, I consider the overall Xero user experience to be extremely good.

   Your pricing has gotten out of hand.

9. Collapsible groups

   It would be great to group items under headers and collapse the group to give the home page more breathing room.

   For example, when your team has multiple credit cards, I don't need to see them every day, but as an expandable/collapsible group, it would be helpful to have it easy enough to track when I need to.

   The same could be said for bank accounts, etc.

   If users could customise their groups, it would better align them with their business needs.

10. Improved layout and workflow efficiency

    Vertical centric rather than horizontal centric layout preference needs to be possible.

    I want to be able to see my accounts down the left hand side of the screen rather than across the top. Then I want to be able to distribute the other widgets to the right of these. With the current 'Edit Homepage' functionality, this is impossible.

    The moving of widgets generally is very difficult to do, to get the desired layout. Very poor from the user experience perspective.

11. quick Upload Bill button on the homepage

    Place an Upload Bill button on the home page. One of my most common daily tasks is to upload new bills. Currently to do this I have to go to Purchases | Bills | New Bills | Upload bills. I could forward emails to have them upload to drafts automatically or use the Opt-Shift-U shortcut, but having a quick Upload Bill button accessible from the homepage would save a lot of time.

12. improved visabilty... really???

    can we set the accounts page as our home page - it has the graph that is more useful now than the actual homepage.
    
    would be good if it showed more than 30 days - but even 30 days is more use than a stark page that shows no trends.

14. profit and loss

    Profit and Loss widget needs to be able to switch between cash and accrual as per the app.

    I also believe a GST payable could be another small widget so that business can see daily/weekly/monthly/qtr how much they should put aside for gst liability. As i constantly put this account onto the watched accounts dashboard for all clients and I know others do also.

    Show when the next GSTreturn is due on the homepage along with the balanced owed and when. The UK Xero has this function, make it available to NZ!!

17. More options for resizing the boxes on the home page please

    I want to see all the boxes on the home page and some of them are too big. Can you add some resizing tools to shrink down the cash in and out, invoices owed, bills to pay boxes to the smaller size so I can see them all at a glance please?

20. expenses

    Expenses have disappeared in new Homepage, not an option to add a widget for it, why take it away?
    Why is Xero making it so hard to do expenses for SME's in their system. Is this another way to try and force users to use the other expenses and have to have multiple apps?
