XPH - Ability to view clients with unreconciled accounts and discuss tab comments
Please reinstate items to be reconciled in My Xero for users with multiple accounts (companies).
The old format alerted users to new bank transactions and allowed users to see at a glance in My Xero which companies have items to be reconciled.
The new format doesn't which means users have to open every company to see if there has been activity. This is very inefficient and takes far too much time.
12 votesThanks so much for taking the time to ask about this and for highlighting the impact on your workflow.
To clarify, the unreconciled bank statement line indicator in My Xero has not been intentionally removed — it is still a supported feature. At the moment, there’s a technical issue affecting how this information is displayed for some users, which is why you’re not seeing it consistently.
Our product and engineering teams are actively investigating this and working on a fix. We aren’t able to share a specific timeframe just yet, but resolving this behaviour is on their radar and being tracked as an issue rather than a permanent change to the feature.
We really appreciate your patience while we work through this, and thank you again for raising it — feedback like this helps us spot and prioritise problems more quickly. 😊

Shareholders and Directors
In the previous version of Practice Manager, you could display a company's directors and shareholders. Now there is no way of showing this. It would be good to be able to see this again.
5 votesThanks for raising this. I can understand how frustrating it is when important details like directors or shareholders aren’t where you expect them to be after an update.
The good news is that this information is still available in the new interface. It’s now managed through the Relationships section of the client record.
Here’s how to find or re enable it:
- Check the business structure: Make sure the client is set up as a Company or Limited Liability Company. Director and Shareholder relationships only appear for these structures.
- Open the Relationships section: Go into the client record and look for the Relationships area. This may be on the right hand side or under a dedicated tab, depending on your view.
- View or add relationships: From here, you can link contacts or other clients as Directors or Shareholders. If they existed before, they should have carried over, though you may need…

Salutation missing?
Where has the Salutation field gone?
It used to be available in Client Details and Additional Contacts and was used across multiple templates, including invoicing and merge-based applications. With this field removed, client correspondence is now appearing blank where the greeting should be.
Using [ContactName] or [FirstName] is not a workable substitute:
• For some primary contacts, it returns no name at all
• In other cases, it defaults to the full name (for example, “Hello John Peter Smith”), which is not appropriate for client correspondence
Please reinstate the Salutation field.
If that is not possible, at a minimum please…3 votesThanks for raising this – you’re right that salutation is a bit harder to find in the new experience, but it is still available.
At the moment, salutation isn’t editable from the quick Additional contacts pop‑up. To view or update it, you’ll need to open the full contact record:
- From a client record
- Open the relevant client.
- Under Additional contacts, click the contact’s name (rather than the three dots).
- This opens the full Contact details screen.
- From here you can view and edit Salutation (and Addressee and Mobile), then save.
From the Contacts list
- Go to Clients > Contacts.
- Search for and open the relevant contact.
- Update the Salutation field and save.
Again, your feedback here helps us prioritise that work, so thank you for sharing it.😊

XPH - Enter time/task when not assigned to a task
Currently if you are not assigned to a task within the Job, you can not enter your time to a global job. You should always be able to select a task even if you are not directly assigned, as people periodically collaborate on a job and do not need to be fully on the Job.
Enter Time on the dashboard
2 votesThanks for raising this with us. You can assign time to a task you’re not personally assigned to in Xero Partner Hub / XPM as long as you can see the job (for example, you have All practice jobs access in your Jobs permissions, which lets you see all jobs in the practice), you have the Time sheets permission turned on so you can view the job’s timesheets and enter time, and you have at least View and edit access to the client so you can open the client record and job. If your practice prefers to limit this, an admin can remove All practice jobs access so you only work with jobs you’re actually assigned to. 😊

XPM - Tag linked with clients and jobs
When adding notes under a client or job, they are labelled with different tags. Within the same client, the tags should be interlinked so that when one tag is clicked, all notes with the same tag are displayed.
2 votesThanks so much for sharing your thoughts around tagging notes and being able to see everything with a particular tag.
At the moment, there is already functionality in Xero that lets you tag notes and then filter to see all notes with a specific tag. To do this, you can:
- Add the relevant tag to your notes when you create or edit them.
- Use the filter option to select that tag.
- Xero will then show you all notes that have been assigned with that tag.
Because this behaviour is already supported, we wont be pursuing this Idea. That said, your feedback is still really helpful — it highlights that this existing functionality isn’t as obvious or discoverable as it could be, and we’ll keep that in mind as we look at improving the notes experience over time. 😊

XPH - Include the new fields in Custom Report Builder
We have found that there are some new fields in the updated XPM e.g. date of death, place of birth. This is great as we previously had created our own fields to enter this information. However, these new fields are not available in reports. Can these, and all new fields please be added to the select field options. If you want us to use them they need to be reportable. Thank you.
2 votesHi Christine, thanks for sharing your feedback! We know having access to all XPM data points in the Custom Report Builder helps you get a full picture of your practice’s performance without extra manual work.
The good news is this functionality already exists. In the Report Builder, for example, the [Client] Date of Death and [Client] Place of Birth fields can be added to the Client & Contact report. Different report types—like Job, Task, or Staff—have their own sets of fields, so it’s worth double-checking your Report Type if a field doesn’t appear immediately.
If you need help to find these fields on the report builder, our Xero Support team will be able to assist further. Hope this helps!

Import New Clients Function Button
In the old XPM we were able to import new clients but there is only an export button. When we sign up new clients, they fill out a spreadsheet which we can then import to Xero but can't see how to do this now
2 votesHi there,
Thanks for reaching out! It sounds like you're looking for the bulk import tool to get your new clients from that spreadsheet into Xero Practice Manager.
To confirm, this feature is still available, it's just moved to a slightly different spot in the new menu structure. Instead of looking for a button on the Client list, you can find the import tool here:
- In the Business menu, select Settings.
- Under the Connections heading, click on Import.
- For the File Type, select Generic - Client.
- From there, you can select your file and upload your new clients in bulk.
I’ve also included a link to our step-by-step guide on Xero Central which walks through the formatting if you need a hand with the spreadsheet columns.
Since this functionality is already tucked away in your settings, I'll close this idea for now, but please let us…

XPH | Homepage - Enter daily timesheets
The new homepage is missing the ability to enter your daily timesheet! Where has it gone. There was a simple "enter time" button that is now missing.
1 voteHi Kylie, we wanted to share a bit more context on how this works today in Xero Practice Manager (XPH).
You can currently enter daily timesheets using the Enter Time button in the Time Summary widget. While this option isn’t presented in the same way it was previously, it’s still available directly on the XPH homepage.
If you need a hand finding it or have any questions, our Support team can help.

XPH |Homepage - Add new job button
There should be a button on the home page that allows you to create a new job.
1 voteHi Lisa, rounding back on your idea here - apologies it sounds like there may have been some misunderstanding from our initial response.
From Xero Partner Hub homepage there is a'new job' button on the jobs widget.
As another option you could add a custom 'quick action' to create a new job from the quick actions widget. 😊
- Don't see your idea?
