  1. In Tax Manager, Option to multiselect tax forms and lodge button. Similar to the Old tax returns window. It will be nice to have a column showing outcome for the form such as $$$ payable or Refundable. This will be more efficient.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestion. A dedicated Overdue tab in Tax Manager would make it easier to quickly see filings that have passed their due date, rather than relying on filters or scanning for overdue indicators.

    At the moment, you can use status filters or sort by date due in the returns list, but we can see the value in having a clearer, dedicated view.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share it with our product teams for consideration.

  3. The returns ready to start from the ATO list need to also contain clients on ATO list not in xero tax so that we can use this list as our master list to clean up ATO clients/add new ones that may have been missed.

    Hi team, we can see how having the Ready to Start list in Tax Manager to include ATO clients missing from XPM/Xero Tax could make cross checking your clients list more efficient. Using this list as a single source to clean up or add missed clients sounds like a practical way to reduce extra steps.

    This idea is now in Gaining Support, so it’s open for the community to vote and comment. If this would help your day-to-day work, we encourage you to add your vote and share your perspective—hearing how it could help in different situations gives the Product team a clearer picture of its value.

  4. The Tax Manager would be improved if it could be sorted by Group, or at least allow us to add the Group column. This would enable a quick reference for one client with multiple entities.

    Right now we'll gauge interest in your idea, and I'll be sure to update you if there is any progress around this.

  5. The ability to create or show BAS statements in the tax manager would be good - you used to be able to create them from the tax tab but now I have to go into the client themselves and click create. Or just some way to make this easier overall - whether you have a BAS section in the Tax Manager, or a create statement button up the top.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion! We understand that including Business Activity Statements (BAS) in Tax Manager would make it much easier to track all your clients’ obligations in one place.

    At the moment, activity statements are managed separately in Xero Tax, so you’ll need to navigate to that section to track and update them. We can see how bringing everything into a single view would make your workflow more efficient.

  10. have a button within the 'ready to start' screen that requests the income tax client report list (per article: https://central.xero.com/s/article/Income-Tax-Client-report#ViewtheIncomeTaxClientreportdetailsinReportBuilder), and the ability to bring in all the client tax returns ready to file (where not already brought in)

    We appreciate you sharing this idea, Bec! We understand that having to leave the Tax Manager just to pull a client report can slow you down when you’re ready to work on a return. A direct "Request Report" button on the Ready to Start screen would make the pre-filing process more seamless and help you stay focused.

    Currently, the workaround is to open a separate tab or go to the Reports menu to run the Income Tax Client report manually. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how this simple shortcut could speed up your tax preparation workflow.

  11. Counts of items in FILED Categories
    Item counts have recently been added to In Progress TAB
    Please finish the job and add counts to FILED
    (and Ready to Start?)
    This is a useful metric for us

    Hi Serge. thanks for highlighting this. We understand how helpful it would be to see item counts in each status at a glance when managing your workload.

    Adding counts to headers like “Ready to Start,” “In Progress,” and “Filed” would make it much easier to track volumes without extra clicks or scrolling.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and highlight to our product team how this could improve day-to-day visibility in Tax Manager.

  12. Add a filter to the top filters to search by All not just Ready to Start/In Progress/Filed/Errors, if you are looking to see a BAS status then you have to search in all 3 if you are not sure what status it is at from this home page or you have to go back via the client.

    Hi Amy, when searching for a specific lodgement, needing to check each status tab can take a bit of time. Being able to search across all return statuses in one place would make it much easier to quickly find what you’re looking for, regardless of its current stage.

    At the moment, this requires clicking through each tab in Tax Manager or going back into the client record.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share it with our product teams as a potential improvement to search and navigation.

  13. When adding a client to a group you have to sort and scroll through the list, you can't even type a certain letter to short cut the process. Please create a 'search' function in the groups list to make it easier to add clients to a group

    Hi Kellie, thanks for sharing this suggestion.

    It sounds like as client group lists get larger, scrolling through a long menu to find the right group can slow things down. Adding a search option to the “Add to group” function would make it quicker and more straightforward to organise client records.

    At the moment, selecting groups in Xero Practice Manager involves manually scrolling through the available list, which can become more time-consuming in larger practices with more complex group setups.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand how adding search here could improve everyday efficiency when managing client groups.
