Invoices - Date columns for individual line items

Ability to add date columns for individual line items.

Purpose: To make users easily put a date for each item. The scenario that can benefit users is for them to show a specific date of when the product/service is delivered.

Hi everyone, thanks for continuing to share your feedback and explain how important it is to be able to add dates to individual line items on invoices.

While this specific idea isn't directly in our pipeline at present, we're looking more broadly at how we may extend documents to better suit more of our customers' needs. We'll be taking this idea into close consideration as part of that work.

For now, as noted in my last update the best option to accommodate this in lieu of a direct field is to add the detail to the Description field of the line.

If there's any progress, we'll be sure to let you all know here.

    Trialling Xero with a view to changing from QB - can’t believe this feature doesn’t exist.
    As an education service provider it is vital invoices show the date of service provision, and reports showing lesson counts and dates are essential.
    Are you really trying to force users to keep duplicate records in excel to keep track of this?

    I agree we require this function and it's simply not available Come on Xero! This should be a staple for your software. Service Date require.

    When will Xero be adding additional columns for multiple dates and docket numbers on the same invoice if your not sure how have a look at the reckon invoice I have fourty to fifty docket’s for the same customer on one monthly invoice you need to address this

    Also transferring from QB. Essential to have services dates as many of our customers get multiple things during the week and require a weekly invoice. As a more expensive product you would think you would have a service date as an option.

    just come over from QB on accountants advise. no date column? what? might have to head back to QB.

    It is essential to my business that our invoices show individual service dates. We would love for there to be an option to add dates. At the moment we have to manually type the dates on each line. Automating this as a drop-down would be very beneficial and save a lot of time when invoicing customers.

    I'm not sure we can even use the invoicing without the ability to add new columns like the date or service type. Hard thing to find out after set up.

    Xero - Please, it has been years. This feature is desperately missing. It's getting to the point that it not worth continuing with Xero.

    I personally need date, starttime, endtime, ODO start, ODO finish, but just a date for each item is manditory, and unbelievable its not already there

    Fundamental requirement for any service or subscription type business. Add options for either 'Service date' or 'From Date' and 'To Date' columns.

    In a service industry, clients need to know the date the service was provided. It makes invoices easy to reconcile. A Date column would make invoice preparation much easier.

    I'd really like to see this feature added to Xero it's critical for businesses like ours that invoice on a weekly and/or monthly basis with customers who require us to provide the services provided during the billing period on a day by day line basis. It's so time consuming, unfortunately we will have to move to another platform if this isn't provided shortly

    I am very disappointed that such a simple feature is not integrated in Xero yet. It is very critical for my line of work as it would have helped in reducing the workload and time. Xero should add this feature ASAP for retaining their loyal customers.
