UK Payroll Reports - Option to export to Excel
P11 PAYE & P11 NIC annual reports, need to have an option to export as Excel, instead of auto downloading as a webpage.
My auditor requested these in Excel format and there was not an option for this, it would make it much easier if these type of reports could have download options, so you could export to excel.
This will also allow usage for tracking and internal auditing.
Yes, you could copy all and paste into excel, but this isn't always reliable as sometimes it will paste it all in to one cell, (which is a pain to fix) you cant be sure you haven't lost any data without comparing both reports, this is time-consuming.
Download/export options for all reports would be a great help.
Hey Sam, thanks for sharing this idea.
As you’ve found, it’s not possible to export the P11 reports in excel format. Totally understand that copying and pasting details from the .html file is a time-consuming process!
Just curious if there’s specific information required in the P11 reports that’s unavailable in our other reports?
You can find much of the same information in the ‘Gross to Net’ and ‘Payroll Activity Detail / Summary’ reports, and they do support saving as an excel file.
Let me know if that solves this one for you, and we’ll switch this one to delivered 😊

I've just migrated from Staffology to Xero in order to unify the accounting and payroll systems. In order to create a means of reconciling payroll, we keep a manual spreadsheet of 50 staff, enter all the adjustments and make sure that the net pay on the spreadsheet tally's with payroll software. The issues are that the Activity Detail Report has headings and sub totals for every line item and instead of just showing you a list of employee names, their NI, ENI, PAYE and Net pay values, the span down the page and its hideous to scan through and find the figures you're looking for. Secondly, I used to be able to (in staffology) download excel payroll sort it in order and copy and paste the NI, ENI and PAYE into the payroll spreadsheet, then copy and paste net pay in to a reconciliation column that showed me any discrepancies, now I'd have to manually key them in from the activity details report.
I have managed to create a power query excel spreadsheet that now manipulates the messy payroll activity detail report for me into nice rows and columns with NI, ENI, PAYE, Net Pay and Employee name in separate columns.
The 'Gross to Net' report only runs for payroll that has been posted/submitted.
Tech support said it's done like this for GDPR so all info not in one report. But that's nonsense because its all in the Activity Detail report, just not in a format that is easy to understand or work with.
