UK Payroll - Tax code update emails
I wanted to set up email notifications when Xero receives a tax code change that it can't auto update.
As I am not logged in everyday I missed the effective dates of some employee tax code changes and then cannot effect the change on the correct date, as it doesn't back date far enough when manually changing the date.
I received a tax code change that Xero couldn't auto update 5 days, however I never saw the notification and now cannot back date the effective date to the correct date. I am unable to find where to have these pop up notifications added to an email to be sent directly to me, the user so that I see the change and can then log in and action it at time.
The pop up was 5 days ago yet I can only go back on the date range 3 days and am unable to select the effective date issued. As this is a weekly payroll the employee will now be on the wrong tax code for another week.
I have other Xero clients and I can't be going back and forth updating different clients data when working on another's.
The pop ups also once opened are then marked as read and can be forgotten or missed as they cannot be re-marked as unread to remind me later or the next time a user logs in.
The date also is too short as I lost 2 days due to the weekend and was off on the Monday, in this exact example so therefore had no chance of seeing the notification and now an employee is going to be potentially paying the wrong tax because of it.
This really should be addressed as a matter of urgency especially as this will affect most weekly payroll clients across your platform.
All it requires is for the pop up notifications to be also actioned as an email to the user of the software and the date range extended to ensure the actions can be taken and the HMRC effective date can be applied preventing potential tax implications on the employee.
