UK Payroll - Automated integration and reporting for Scottish Public Pensions Agency (SPPA)

Other payroll software integrates directly with SPPA so that at a click of a button you can export all the information you need for your SPPA Annual return. I know from speaking to my GP Practice Manager colleagues that this is the main thing preventing them from moving over to Xero Payroll. The reruns can be quite complex, especially if you have part time staff or staff starting part way through the year so this would make life a lot easier.

Thanks for raising this with the community. The request is for SPPA annual returns to be supported within Xero UK Payroll, either through a direct integration or an export in the required format.

This could reduce the manual work involved in compiling pension information for part-time employees and mid-year starters.

I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. If SPPA reporting is something you need, add your vote and share what information you currently have to prepare manually.

    We use the account package and it is very good. We would like to use Xero payroll but like others the SPPA issue holds us back. Please resolve this. Thank you.

    We moved to Xero payroll this year and have found the system very good. The only issue we have found is the SPPA and manual process. This is very time consuming and it would be a game changer if there was an automatic integration.

    We have recently moved to Xero for payroll due to the increasing costs with Iris. However, the only drawback is SPPA not being integrated. This would be a very welcome change if this were to happen!!

    We currently use Xero Accounts and it is a great product and would happily move our payroll over, like others the only thing stopping us at the moment is the lack of automatic integrating and reporting with SPPA. Please can you look into this as many practices are looking for this functionality to move to better systems.

    I would happily look to move over to Xero for payroll if SPPA returns were supported. This is essential to move though

    This is the only thing preventing me from moving to xero payroll. Already have xero accounts, so easy and streamlined. Would love to get payroll over too but the SPPA integration/reporting is a must.

    I currently use Xero for both accounts and payroll and to have an integration with SPPA would be a game changer

    I would love to be able to do everything in one place. Currently using Xero accounts which is easy to use. SPPA integration is a must though. This would surely make money over time for Xero, even if there was a cost for implementation. PM DUNDEE

    I use Xero Accounts and I would love having it all in one place. Moving to Xero Payroll is a no brainer for me, but only if it integrates with SPPA.

    I use Xero Accounts and love it, but i am stuck with our current provider as their is no integration or reporting for SPPA within Xero Payroll. This would be a most welcome change and we certainly get myself (and i am sure a lot of my colleagues) onto Xero Payroll.

    Xero is a great service but the SPPA returns are frustrating to say the least. I enter them manually and this is clearly an issue for SPPA, as in some cases, the manual entries are not allocated to pension pots from two years ago.

    I have been considering leaving Xero as a result but hopeful for a more efficient, joined up approach to this.

    I use Xero payroll and accounts and I'm probably in the minority across Scotland. It would be incredibly helpful if Xero could integrate/report the SPPA annual returns in the same way as other payroll providers do. It's a significant barrier to the vast majority of Scottish GP practices moving to Xero Payroll. I personally wouldn't move back from Xero payroll...but I agree with all of the others. It's a barrier to moving and it could be overcome. Let's make this happen!

    There are 900 Practices in Scotland wishing for this, a lot of us use the accounting package and would happily move payroll over but this hurdle is preventing us!! Xero... Let's do this!!!!

    This would be great to give us options for payroll providers! The lack of automatic integration and reporting with the Scottish Public Pensions Agency is a shame as this is the pension scheme/company for our staff and the ease of use of Xero accounts inspires confidence that Xero payroll would be good too.

    The only thing preventing my practice from moving to Xero payroll is the lack of automatic integration and reporting with the Scottish Public Pensions Agency as this is our main pension company for our staff.
