Payroll AU: Manually Mark Timesheets as Processed
I would like to suggest adding an option in Xero to manually mark timesheets as processed, along with the ability to add a note indicating which payrun period the hours were included in.
There are instances when employees submit their timesheets late for a particular pay period. In accordance with the company policy, these hours are included in the next payrun rather than the original period.
As a result, the timesheets may still appear as Approved in Xero, even though the hours have already been processed and paid in the subsequent payrun. This can cause confusion and make it difficult to determine whether the hours have already been accounted for.
To address this, I suggest introducing the following features:
Manually mark as processed: Allow users to update the timesheet status to indicate that the hours have already been included in a payrun.
Add a reference note: Provide an option to record the payrun period in which the hours were processed (e.g., “Included in the 15 November payrun”).
Maintain a clear status: Make it easy to distinguish between timesheets that are approved but not yet processed and those that have already been included in a payrun.
This enhancement would improve timesheet tracking, reduce confusion, and provide a clearer audit trail for payroll processing, particularly when handling late timesheet submissions.
