  1. Can you please give the option to inactivate past employees/leavers from payroll summary when doing reports. Every employee we have ever had is coming up on the report each time.

    Also how do I set up overtime payments to stay on employee profile instead of using the drop down menu every week.

    Thanks for your interest in improvements to payroll reports, everyone. Our product team have eyes on this idea and while there are no immediate plans at this time, we'll update you here if anything changes.

  2. Payroll UK Student Loans
    Some employees can have Plan 1 and 2 at the same time. At present Xero payroll can only deal with 1 plan. The option should exist for an employee to select more than 1 Plan and the correct deductions be made.
    This is how repayments are allocated between Plan 1 and Plan 2 loans
    For the 2023/24 tax year the repayment thresholds are as follows:
    • Plan 1 loans: £22,015
    • Plan 2 loans: £27,295
    If you earn below £22,015 you will make no loan repayments.

  3. It would be really helpful if there was a report that showed the actual amount of hours worked per month per individual and as a total. Our company has busy seasons, as well as quiet seasons and having a report like this would help us in planning our staffing situation.

  4. The current screen and filters for Xero timesheet is not user-friendly. In particular, firstly, it would be great if the Employee Name filter allowed you to type and search. Secondly, if the Employee Name filter could include multiple names that would be useful.
    Lastly, not in the filters, but the tick boxes for each timesheet - if the tick box was bigger and next to the line, instead of in the timesheet line this would help. The way it is at the moment, it is too easy to accidentally go into a timesheet instead of ticking it to select for…

    Thanks for raising with us in Product Ideas here, Yana. It helps to have each idea separate so others know what they're adding their vote for and we can share the demand of each back with our product teams. I've slightly amended the title of your idea here to fit your first idea.

    In terms of employee selections this is actually already possible - From the timesheets filter just click on the names on the employees you'd like to filter timesheets for.

    We don't appear to have an existing idea for your 3rd point, but welcome to start a new idea so we can begin to track interest of this, too.

  5. We would definately want to see the hourly rate and hours for overtime for staff on annual salaries.
    At the moment the overtime hours are printed but not the rate of pay for the overtime.

  6. NZ Payroll - I would like a report that shows annual leave taken, any adjustments made to the leave balance and a final total of leave owing. I do not think there is anywhere that shows if an change has been made to someone's leave balance

  7. When an employee is off sick you should be able to open and input the start date and then save, to input the end date when the employee returns to work.

  8. The report should be able to generate Employee Name (First & Last in separate columns), DOB, TFN, Bank Details provided, Super Funds & Address.

    We need various information like from time to time for reporting purposes but we cannot get it without having to click in to every single employees - which is hectic

  9. Not sure about other pensions, but when using NEST, Xero doesn't currently link up how you would like it to.
    Whether you pay staff monthly or weekly, you are bound to have a cut off date for calculating hours which is before the date you send payment to employees.
    The info that gets shared when filing the pension records is the "payment date". This physical date falls under the following pay period meaning when the info is transferred to NEST it comes up as the wrong period.

    (monthly pay) 24th Aug - 23rd Sep, with pay on 30th…

  13. As an employee, I receive an email every time a leave request was approved.
    My boss receives an email every time a leave request is submitted and every time a timesheet is submitted.
    It would be great to disable these email notifications

  14. I've just set up a salary sacrifice for a cycle to work scheme in payroll. However there isn't an end date in Xero so I have to manually diarise a date to stop the salary sacrifice for the employees. Please could a box be added to automate this.

  15. Automatically generate payment invoices when creating payroll.
    The current help article suggests creating spent money entries on the fly when reconciling.
    It would be better to be able to generate accurate payment and separate code tax invoices when the payday is filed.
    The advantages are that:
    - the payment is reconciled to where it is created ensuring it is correct,
    - the invoices are easily selectable into batch payments from payable invoices which correctly connects to bank batch payments,
    - payments to IRD could be raised to different contacts for each payment type allowing the right references to be attached…

  16. 2 TOIL options, TOIL accrued & TOIL Accrued in place of Overtime

    We are unable to mark a Time in Lieu Leave pay item as exempt from accruing SGC, which is not how the ATO classifies SGC for TOIL.

    We suggest having 2 TOIL categories, so that there is the option for a TOIL where SGC is required to be paid and one wit SGC exempt:- when super is accrued on overtime.

  17. PAPDIS file download to include total Gross Salary and not just the Salary with the £520 not pensionable deducted and the pension provider we use (Creative) expects this in their upload. EVery month I have to edit Gross Pensionable Pay for all employees to add the £520 on the PAPDIS CSV I download.

  18. A number of my client are service businesses and as such all of the payroll costs should be posted either to a Cost of Sale account for Operational staff or Overhead for support staff. I can achieve this for all costs except for Employer NIC cost, which has to be manually moved. It would be beneficial if the NIC could go to an NIC GL dependent upon the type of basic pay chosen.

  19. I think it would be a good idea to facilitate the location of payroll reports. Please could you create a link to payroll journals within the payroll "journal reports".
    Secondly, it would very useful to be able to amend a payroll journal report, if needed.

  20. UK Payroll - it would be handy to be able to mark P32 amounts due as paid or dealt with. Just helps to visual see where you are in the list of reports and keep on top of due payments.
