AU Payroll - Job title to appear on payslips
Can you please look at adding a feature to payroll templates which allows Job title to appear under 'Employment Details' on payslips.

NZ Payroll - Include bonuses in Remuneration Reports
It would be good to beable to add employees Annual bonuses into xero so we don't have to refer to their contracts each time. As well as a report that will show employees details Remuneration, Bonuses etc

AU Payroll - Timesheet - Option to 'Approve & Next' employee
In Payroll --> Timesheet --> entering hours for employees, there is no option to 'Approve & Next' employee, which would make entering hours easier. It would mean one doesn't have to keep going back to the main Timesheet menu when they are working through a roster of staff.

AU Payroll | Employee - View employment duration date below start date
The "Details" tab lists the employee's age under the "Date of birth" field.
Having "Employed for # Years & # Months" below the "Start date" field would be handy. It would give a quick, "at a glance" look at how long someone has been employed by a business for estimating notice periods and anticipating imminent entitlement to LSL.
Attached is what the "Date of birth" currently looks like (I've used my own name and birth year) and a mock-up of what I'm suggesting might look like.

UK Payroll - Option to turn off automated EPS
Like it says on the tin. Why do Xero send an unnecessary EPS each month when its not needed? If I want to change my payroll, great send the EPS when I approve it. If I make a late payment, send the EPS once I've finalised the payroll. But please stop sending pointless returns which makes me wonder what Xero is doing filing unnecessary data that is more likely to cause problems with HMRC than not given their systems.

AU Payroll - Make Pending Approval button more obvious
I've tried to use the automatic super payments SOOOOO many times and was lost in it forever - now I realise there is a PENDING APPROVAL BUTTON that has to be pressed - I had not realised it is a button.
My idea for improvement is to make this look like a button and not just a highlighted word.
In pic you can see 'pending approval' is highlighted, but so is 'withdrawn' - which is not a button. In Xero all the buttons are larger and shaped as rectangles and unified. AU Payroll - ABN exempt non-employee contractors

UK payroll - Turn off automatic journal posting for payroll
As the automatic journal for payroll is not able to be viewed before posting to accounts, we should have the option to turn off automatic journals. Currently, we have to post, then go back and do another journal to split out ER NI & Pension for different departments. This system is so unflexible.

UK Payroll - Leave Transactions report
A report that provides details of employees leave to be able to see the leave accruals and leave taken for the pay period.

We hear you’re also interested in a Leave Balances Report. UK Payroll - Leave Balances Report is a separate Product Idea, so we’d love to see your votes and ideas on this topic too.
Whilst a Leave Transactions Report is not currently set in our roadmap, our product team is reviewing the viability of developing more comprehensive reporting solutions.

We've reviewed your idea and can see that the idea regarding notifications is an existing Xero Product Idea called Notification - Reminder to employee to enter Timesheet. This is currently in review with our product team.
The ability to input weekly hours (rather than daily) has not yet been raised though. The idea is now available to the community to share their support. We'll keep you updated!

AU Payroll - STP Reporting Super for Employees earning above the Quarterly Contribution Cap.
STP reporting - Super for employees with OTE above the maximum contribution base. ATO STP guidance allows employers to report EITHER Super Type L (the YTD SUPER liability for each employee) OR Super Type O (The YTD OTE for each employee). For employees earning OTE above the maximum Contribution base the correct STP reporting category to use is Super Type L. I have not been able to find how to set up the Super Category Type L in Xero. 6 votesHi everyone, just wanting to provide an update on this. With the introduction of Payday Super and the shift to Qualifying Earnings (QE) under STP Phase 2 reporting, the scope and requirements surrounding superannuation reporting have fundamentally changed.
Under the ATO's Payday Super framework, Type O has been replaced with Type Q, and you can now select how you report the earnings in the pay item setup.
Alongside this, when an employee reaches the Maximum Contribution Base, any subsequent earnings above that threshold naturally default to Super Liability (L) rather than continuing to be classified under Qualifying Earnings. Because this reporting logic aligns directly with the ATO’s updated compliance and pay-event reporting requirements, we will not be changing this functionality.

UK payroll - Automatically create a pension bill from filling
It would be really helpful if a bill could be created from the pension filing figures on payroll once you have clicked on marked as filed. (such as it is an option when you do your vat return)

AU Payroll - Payrun history expand or collapse button OR group in payroll years
Ability to have an expand and collapse button for pays previously posted and presented under Pay Run History.
After using Xero for a number of years, locating a previous pay run becomes looking for a needle in a haystack as this section is just a swamp of pays.
Grouping in payroll financial years or having a date filter would assist greatly also.
4 votesHi Yvonne, thanks so much for raising this idea and sharing your thoughts with us. We totally see how useful it’d be to have the option to expand or collapse pay run history, or group it by financial year in the Payroll product.
As pay run history builds up, it can definitely get a bit tedious trying to scroll through and find what you need. Having a more organised view would really help when you’re digging into older payroll data.
As a temporary workaround, you may find it helpful to use Ctrl + F (or Command + F on Mac) to quickly search the screen for a specific date or payroll year. We know it’s not a perfect fix, especially when there’s a lot of data, but it might make things a little quicker in the meantime.

AU Payroll - Right click to open Payrun in a new browser tab
I find that it's extremely annoying how you can't open up payruns and employee profiles from a right mouse click in a new tab. It would be nice if the UX could cater to this for smoother and faster movements. Also with new fixed assets it would be ideal if we could click the whole asset line rather than one tiny little link - would save a lot of frustration when bulk writing off assets. As we continue to develop Xero our prodyct teams are creating more consistency in behaviours however this is also in consideration of user flows and roles. AU Payroll - Allow Pay Frequency updates (without deleting future Leave/Timesheets)
For pay frequency for an employee, it would be good to be able to change this even if the employee has a pending leave request. Future leave or unprocessed leave has no relationship to the pay frequency if I want to pay an unscheduled bonus or other payment. This is very limiting as I may not be in a position to approve or process the leave before I need to change a pay frequency on an employee.

AU Payroll - Flag negative leave on final pay
When using the final pay function and annual leave is in negative, please flag with a "check with your bookkeeper, accountant or Fair Work before processing negative leave on a final pay." Some business owners are unaware that this may be contravening Fair Work laws.

Payroll - Add pay run comparative to prior pay run
When processing payroll, be able to see a comparative between current pay run and previous pay run before completion/filing to identify any discrepancies.
120 votesHello everyone, while you can currently export reports to compare pay runs, we understand the value of having this capability built directly into Xero and have been following this idea closely.
For now, AU and UK organisations can use the Payroll Activity Details report for one employee at a time by selecting the relevant date range for the pay periods. To help prevent errors, we recommend checking that employee pay templates are set up correctly, ensuring future pay runs are consistent and accurate.
Although this isn’t on our roadmap at present, we recognise the impact it'd have for customers and will continue to consider it as we plan future payroll enhancements. We’ll share any updates related to payroll comparatives here.
