NZ Payroll - History and notes in Payroll to show changes made
There should be an audit trail in Payroll detailing when changes to an Employee record is made (for example: date an address was updated for an employee and what it was until that date, likewise for other details such as email address, bank account number, tax code etc). As an Employer we should be able to rely on the digitised Payroll system we are using to determine when changes to an Employee's record has been made. AU Payroll - Payroll Reports linked under the Payroll menu
Can you please add a link to Payroll Reports under the Payroll Section. It's a simple change that would make Payroll a true one-stop shop.

NZ Payroll - Sick leave entitlements to automatically accrue when employees are included in any future pay run following their entitlement.
As a Chartered Accountant, I’ve observed an issue in Xero’s handling of sick leave entitlements that I believe warrants improvement. Currently, if an employee is not included in the pay run closest to their sick leave entitlement date, the entitlement does not accrue. This creates a significant gap in compliance with employment obligations and adds unnecessary administrative burden to correct.
To enhance the functionality and flexibility of Xero's payroll system, I think that sick leave entitlements should automatically accrue when the employee is included in any future pay run following their entitlement date. UK payroll - Ability to include additional fields in Pension Contribution Report
Xero cannot current cope with companies that have more than one pension scheme. The upload I need to send to the pension provider includes payroll number, pensionable earnings for period, start date and date of birth. It would be useful if Xero had the ability to add these and additional fields if required customised in the contribution report.

UK Payroll - Average Employee Numbers in the Year
Average Employee Numbers in the Year
As part of preparing accounts, the average employee number is often required. If this could be generated within Xero that would save time collating the number of employees per month and working out an average for the year. It could subsequently be used as working out the amount of revenue attributable to each staff member.

AU Payroll - ABN exempt non-employee contractors

Fortnightly Pay Runs to have weekly split.

UK Payroll - Reports - Backdate Posted Date/Payment Date functionality beyond August 2024
On the Gross to Net report, payments before August 2024 have a "posted date" set to the date the report was generated, which is incorrect. See attached example.
To reduce confusion, either:
- The Posted Date feature should be backdated so that payments before August 2024 show the correct "posted date"

UK Payroll - Extend SSP without reverting pay runs
SSP EXTENSION; There needs to be a way of extending SSP
Most people who are off sick are not aware of when they will return, it is often necessary to be able to extend SSP. It is not acceptable to have a process that requires reverting payroll. I am still trying to get almost £5000 back from HMRC because Xero reported the variance in April as an additional payroll & the YTD figures have not corrected the issue. Au payroll - Option to reorder dates in unscheduled pay run dropdown.
When there are no payruns for multiple pay runs in a row, please add a feature to allow to reset the pay cycle from a selected date. As it is, if a client doesn't have any pay runs, we need to either post/file the empty pay runs to keep on the pay calendar, or run all future pays as unscheduled pay runs, or set up a new pay calendar. Wouldn't it be great if there was a more simple way to keep on track with pay cycles?! Also, when selecting an unscheduled pay run, please reorder the pay dates so…

Suggestion to format payslips in Payroll so that the earnings quantity and earnings rate are limited to two decimal points for ease of readability for staff.

AU Payroll - Add 'Save & Next' button to top of employee pay details screen in Pay Run.
In Xero Payroll, it would greatly improve efficiency if the "Save & Next" button appeared at the top of the employee pay details screen, not just at the bottom.
For businesses with detailed pay setups (multiple earnings lines, deductions, reimbursements, etc.), scrolling to the bottom of every employee’s pay screen just to click "Save & Next" is time consuming and disruptive to workflow.
Adding this button to the top would:
Streamline navigation during pay runs
Reduce unnecessary scrolling
Improve accessibility for users reviewing multiple employee pays in one session
This small UI change would make a big difference for payroll…

Payroll AU | Timesheet - show submitted leave days on timesheets.
When approving timesheets it would be ideal to have separate lines underneath Ordinary Hours with Leave requested, on which days and hour amounts and to be able to approve there instead of having to go to a different screen.
Can be hard to double check and remember correct days the leave was taken and also to ensure daily and weekly hours are met.

AU Payroll - Ability to pay staff with joint bank account in same pay run
Please enable the ability to pay staff with a joint bank account in same pay run. We currently have to pay two couples with a joint bank account into separate accounts each run. Xero does not permit two payments into the same bank account in one pay run. I have confirmed with our bank that this is not an error on their end. Xero support have informed me that this is not a function that Xero currently offers.

Payroll AU | Payroll Activity Detail Report | Amend layout and separate employees
The new Payroll Activity Detail Report is very hard to read when there is more than a couple of employees.
I understand that the new report format has been designed to reflect the other updated reports in Xero. However, so that it is more user-friendly, can we have:
1 - A blank line between each employee so that it is easier to see quickly where one employee's details cease and the next employee's details start.

NZ Payroll - Notification when an employee is added or removed
Can we please have an automatic email notification to the subscriber when a organisation adds or removes an employee - This would be required for the purposes of updating billing when the ability to add additional employees for $4 takes place in September 2025.
