  1. Create a task list for new users of what they need to set up or complete in order to start working. Include links to the learning material for those tasks. New small business owner and I was not sure what exactly I had to set up or edit before just jumping in so I learnt when doing the tasks that I needed to set up a default invoice as example

Hi Phil, thanks for raising this with us. Luckily I cna let you know that Xero has indeed set up certain tasks when you first set up your new Xero organisation, adding bank accounts and bankfeeds, invoice templates, adding users. Im sorry that this wasn't clear to you when you started your organisation. We also have options to set up calls when you hit certain milestones if you need more help. But thank you for letting us know this would be helpful and I hope we can be helpful when needed.😊

  2. This will be beneficial where staff need to access sales for invoicing and purchases for bills but employers dont want them to have access to bank or other areas. Currently you can have Purchases OR Sales, but you can't have both.

Hi Chrissy! Did you know it's already possible to do this in Xero?

You can give a user the Invoice only Approve and Pay (sales and purchases). An invoice only user with the approve and pay (sales and purchase) permission has access to invoices, bills, credit notes, quotes and purchase orders. You can see more about this here.😊

  3. Some of our practice staff have permissions to create clients and also were ableto create client groups for the new client to be added to. With the new Xero Centralisation, those staff can no longer create client groups, or add clients to a group. To allow this we would have to increase their permissions to Practice Administrator. This new required level of access is over the top, just to allow someone to create a client group.

Hi! Following feedback from our partners, it is now possible for standard users to edit, create, and delete groups in the new partner experience. Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

  4. Please put the search widget on the top line - at the moment we have to click on the search icon then click on the search "bar" to begin searching. It would be so much easier and quicker to get to that stage in one.

Hi Christopher, when initially released there was the need to click in the search field to begin typing once you clicked the Search 'magnifying glass' icon. However, our product team improved this so now when you click the magnifying glass for Search in the navigation your cursor will default to the search field so you can get straight into typing - You can see my update for this here

If you're experiencing different behaviour, I'd recommend raising a case with our specialists at Xero Support through Xero Central so we can have a closer look into this for you. Thanks

  5. On the "Tax and reporting" box on the Dashboard, could we please be able to link to the Journal Report from here as well?

    That's all. Simple :)

  6. JAX currently does not pull the customers due date from the customers file. Because that feature isn't live yet, JAX doesn't help our organization to be able to use JAX to create invoices. I wanted to bring it to your attention in the hopes your product team is working on it. You may already be working on it, I just didn't see it listed anywhere.

Our customers have different invoice due dates depending on how their account is setup. Because of this, we would have to look up each due date for the customer and manually change it. It would…

Hi Brandy! Did you know it's already possible to do this in Xero via JAX?

To get JAX to automatically use your contacts’ default due dates, simply prompt it once to apply the default dates set in each contact’s profile.

From then on, JAX will create draft invoices that use those contacts’ specific due dates.

If you’d like an extra hand setting this up, you can raise a case with our Xero Support specialists 😊

  7. Please add the ability to switch off the suggested reconciliation entries for individual users or for all users if easier. It is a setting that shows an OK button that looks a lot like the OK for rules and other matches, and it makes users trigger happy with the OK, which leads to reconciliation account coding errors.

Hi Pamela, thanks for your feedback on bank reconciliation settings. It’s helpful to understand your concerns about suggested entries and the OK button during reconciliation.

To clarify what’s currently available: Xero generates suggestions in a few different ways by trying to match an existing transaction, checking your bank rules, using memory from similar reconciled transactions, or, if none of those apply, making a prediction using machine learning.

If you don’t want Xero to provide memory-based suggestions or predictions, you can turn these off by scrolling to the bottom of the Reconcile tab and clearing the “Suggest previous entries” checkbox.

You can also turn off bank rule suggestions by going to Accounting > Bank Rules > Delete the relevant bank rules.

These options remove the automatic suggestions that appear with an OK button.

Our team has reviewed your idea, and since there are ways to achieve what’s being asked within Xero,
