Permissions - Control user access to Xero Files
Adding security measures to the file tab - so only certain users can open and access that information

Hi team, as you may have seen in other areas of Xero we're on a journey to improve our permissions across many areas of Xero.
For files we appreciate there are differing needs and access levels our customers need and this is a feature we're working on an update to at present. I'll round back to share more soon.

We use xero files for data storage as a means of ease of access for directors and auditors and it would be nice to have some form of way to secure so data can only be accessible to the designated personnel. Maybe the folders can be password protected such that only those who receive a share link can access the contents of the folder.

very important for my clients whom need their accounts audited and we want the supporting documents filed in Xero but only want the auditor to have view only access.

Our firm would like to utilize file storage within Xero for our clients, but we have a few suggestions based on how we use our current platform for files. We would like to see that the person uploading a document to the files can lock the document so that other users cannot delete it (i.e. minute book), that the documents stored in the files are live (i.e. live spreadsheets) so that items don't need to be constantly downloaded and uploaded and mass downloads for when a client is being offboarded.
