Xero Files - Ability for Read Only users to access Xero Files
We would like our auditors / account reviewers to have Read Only access to our accounts in Xero however this does not enable them to view Xero Files, which is where we save our bank statements, etc.
Currently we need to give them Standard Access so that they can have access to the documents in Files, however this also gives them the ability to change the accounts as well.
We would like to suggest the Xero files be added to users with Read Only access.

Hi team, thank you for your feedback here and letting us know your needs in providing some users with access to view documents in Xero without the ability to change things in your organisation.
We're in the process of developing a more flexible permissions model that considers Xero Documents as part of role access. As part of our next roll-out we'll be separating document access from wider accounting permissions, to support use cases like has been raised here.
We'll keep you updated as this capability lands.

Having the same issue! I'd like admin staff who are emailing files into Xero to be able to log in and and check what has been imported and get the notifications when a file has failed. But I don't want them to be able to do anything else.

I have exactly the same requirement, and find this frustrating. Would appreciate at least an option on the user permissions page to control access to files.
