Workpapers - Prepare on Cash basis
Ability to prepare workpapers on a cash basis is critical to be able to line up with xero reports prepared under Tier 4 cash reporting framework.

Hey team, thanks for sharing your needs in preparing workpapers on Cash basis. We're happy to provide an update that this is now in development as part of new Xero Workpapers. With new Workpapers you'll be able to select the accounting basis (cash or accrual) when setting up a workpaper pack, ensuring your calculations and reports align perfectly with your client's needs.
We've just started roll out to Australia, and will be following to other regions in 2026. We understand that you're eager for this feature, and we'll keep you updated on the progress, here.

This would save so much time if workpapers would import on a cash basis to match the BAS reporting basis.

It would be helpful to have the ability to import cash-basis figures into Workpapers, for clients who report on this basis. Even if there were an option to import a cash trial balance from Xero manually, it would be an improvement.
