Xero Tax (UK) - Option to change filings dates
Our understanding is that it should not be necessary to amend the year-end date at Companies House in order to file an accounting period that falls within −7/+7 days of the year end, as doing so would constitute an extension of the accounting period, which we would prefer to avoid.
At present, Xero does not support this scenario, nor does it offer an alternative recommended approach. It would therefore be helpful if Xero could address this limitation.
The only workaround we can see available is to change the year-end date to the 30th or 31st where it is not already a year end, but unhelpfully this does not work in the opposite direction - for example, moving from 30/11 to 02/12, which in this instance would have been extremely helpful.
