Client - Layout: Move name to centre of page
The Client Name used to be clear and in the centre of the page before the new update. Now, I forget which client I am in, and it is easy to get it mixed up with the Referral Source.

Practice tools | Clients - Error message when client record fails to save
I've just spent too long going through the client record fields to figure out that the reason that the record wouldn't save was a duplicate client code. Before the update, XPM would pop up with something like "client code already in use" or "TFN not valid". Now, there's no message at all. Please restore the error messages!
Further, please restore the ability to update related client addresses all at once.

XPM - Ability to Archive contacts
When we are archiving a client there should be the ability to archive the contacts (if they are not linked to an active client profile). Or at least be able to Archive them from the contacts page https://hq.xero.com/clients/contacts
Currently the only option is to edit or delete, deleting is not a great option should you need to follow revisit something in the future.
If you don't delete them, you are then left with the contact appearing in the suggestion list when trying to connect clients to a client profile.

Practice tools | Client list - IRD Number visible
Would it be possible to have the IRD number visible on the front client page (as an option on the column dropdown)

Clients - Export client data (eg phone numbers)
With the new layout the old reports - even the customisable ones do not have all these new fields that can be chosen and exported.
Eg there are now multiple phone fields which is great but I use this data to export to my phone system but now I cant.

With the new layout, some of the fields available in the old reports, like multiple phone numbers — aren’t currently included in exports. Practice tools | Clients - Show number of notes from client view
From the initial client view, there should be a number next to the Notes section, to show that there are notes to look at (as there are for invoices, jobs etc)

Practice Tools - Return to Group view after archiving a client
When you have a departing group, you have to now click on the group, select the entity, click on the 3 dots and select Archive.
This removes the entity from the group. You then have to start again and search the next entity from clients, and repeat the steps. as you cannot select back to take you back to the group.

Clients - Add Clients to contacts from the Contacts screen
On the Contacts information page you should be able to associate the Contact with a Client and manage associated Clients from the Contacts information page also.

Practice manager - Relationship flow between shareholders and beneficiary
Relationships: Adding the correct group structure while distributions still being able to flow to the right tax entity
We have a company called Sample Company Pty Ltd. The shares of that company are held by Share Company Pty Ltd on behalf of Beneficiary Trust. We should be able to put in that Share Company Pty Ltd is a shareholder of Sample Company Pty Ltd but that the distribution flows through to the ultimate shareholder Beneficiary Trust. Right now, we have to put that Sample Company Pty Ltd has a shareholder Beneficiary Trust which is not actually correct. Xero currently has…

Clients - Sync Partner and Manager from a Job with clients
If the Job has a Partner and Manager - carry this across to the client view with a notification for the Admin to check if correct. Most of the time the Partner and Manager will be the same staff as in the job. Result more streamlined for reporting purposes in client manager.

Clients | Invoices - Sorting invoices numerically
The previous post on this one has been closed for comments, but the resolution isn't complete. The invoices are allegedly now sorting by most recent invoice number first, but it doesn't work when you go over invoice 9999 to 10000 for example, 9999 is at the top and all the 10000's are further down the page (which is significant for weekly invoiced clients).
Also invoices transfer from current to archived when there is any payment attached to the invoice, even if it is only part paid.

XPM - Automatically Retrieve from ATO (Activity Statement) less clicks
Previously, checkbox options were all visible, without clicking.
Now I have to click and see the options (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks).
Previously, I could click Opt Out and it would opt out... now I have to uncheck 3 x boxes (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks). If I wanted to opt in, I could uncheck Opt Out and it would opt in... now I have to check 3 x boxes (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks).
What is it about making the product more efficient, not less efficient, do you not understand?

Practice tools - Notification when Job/Client WIP Budget is exceeded
Currently estimates/quotes require a specific amount of time to be allocated against a specific task for a specific staff member. We need either notifications when total unbilled WIP for a client reaches x amount OR to be able to create a quote/estimate for a total dollar figure across all tasks and staff, and have notifications set when that figure (or % thereof) is reached. This feature is standard in most timekeeping programs and I'm shocked XPM doesn't have it.
1 voteThanks for raising your idea with us here, Elanor. We understand how notifications to draw attention when a budgeted figure is exceeded would be useful. For the time being we're watching the interest on this idea, but will share if there are any plans made around this.
