XPM - Ability to Archive contacts
When we are archiving a client there should be the ability to archive the contacts (if they are not linked to an active client profile). Or at least be able to Archive them from the contacts page https://hq.xero.com/clients/contacts
Currently the only option is to edit or delete, deleting is not a great option should you need to follow revisit something in the future.
If you don't delete them, you are then left with the contact appearing in the suggestion list when trying to connect clients to a client profile.

Xero Ask - Develop ESIGN within Xero
It would be nice if client that need to sign the report were able to be send an electronic copy and are able to sign electronically via the ask function. Instead of needing to use a third-party application. It would greatly assist with record keeping and making sure all the imported items are stored withing one app.

Practice tools | Clients - Error message when client record fails to save
I've just spent too long going through the client record fields to figure out that the reason that the record wouldn't save was a duplicate client code. Before the update, XPM would pop up with something like "client code already in use" or "TFN not valid". Now, there's no message at all. Please restore the error messages!
Further, please restore the ability to update related client addresses all at once.

Clients - Export client data (eg phone numbers)
With the new layout the old reports - even the customisable ones do not have all these new fields that can be chosen and exported.
Eg there are now multiple phone fields which is great but I use this data to export to my phone system but now I cant.

Would it be possible to have the IRD number visible on the front client page (as an option on the column dropdown)

Clients - Summary of workpapers status within the client view
This isn't a workpapers-specific solution, but the ability to see the status of workpapers in the clients section of the PartnerHub could have great development opportunities. It would be very useful to give a quick snapshot of the client and if it was also available as a column in the global client view you could filtering by work completed/ in progress/ not yet received. Furthermore, giving developers access to the API for this field would also open up other opportunities.

Clients - Adjustable Column Widths
Allow adjustable column widths in the Clients screen (like Excel), especially for the Client Name field. Long entity names are currently truncated, making it difficult to identify clients. Also allow adding additional columns such as ABN and Address. This will significantly improve usability for practices managing large client bases.

Having more flexible grid layouts could make it easier to review client information and manage records more efficiently.

Client - Add a dedicated "Trading As" field to client's record
This request is for an additional “Trading As” name (or T/A) field to be added to XERO on “Contact” level. This T/A name must then also appear on the client invoices below the entity Legal Name. This T/A field must also be available separately on Client reporting level.

The suggestion here is to add a dedicated Trading As / DBA field to contact records, so this information can be stored separately and be easier to find when managing invoices, statements, and client details.
We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and gather more examples from practices that use trading names as part of their day-to-day workflows.

Practice Tools - Return to Group view after archiving a client
When you have a departing group, you have to now click on the group, select the entity, click on the 3 dots and select Archive.
This removes the entity from the group. You then have to start again and search the next entity from clients, and repeat the steps. as you cannot select back to take you back to the group.

XPH - Add field for Trustees IRD number in Trusts Additional Contact
Client Information - Trusts - Additional Contacts - as we now have to have all Trustees IRD numbers for Trust tax returns, would it be possible to please add a line for Trustees IRD numbers in addtional conatcts?

Thanks for sharing this idea — I can see why having a field for Trustees’ IRD numbers under Additional Contacts would be helpful when preparing trust tax returns, especially now that all trustees’ IRD numbers are required.

Keyboard Shortcuts - Restore the ability to open new tab with CTRL + click.
Please restore the ability to open XPM search results in a new tab using Ctrl + click.
I regularly use the search button in the top right of XPM to look up client names. While right-clicking still allows links to be opened in a new tab, Ctrl + click no longer works.
Ctrl + click is a much faster and more natural workflow, especially when moving through multiple clients, so losing this functionality has reduced efficiency. It would be great to have this reinstated.

Even though right-clicking still provides a way to open links in a new tab, we appreciate that this adds extra steps and slows things down when you're moving between client records regularly. Small changes like this can have a real impact when they're part of an action you rely on throughout the day.

Clients - Add Clients to contacts from the Contacts screen
On the Contacts information page you should be able to associate the Contact with a Client and manage associated Clients from the Contacts information page also.

Practice manager - Relationship flow between shareholders and beneficiary
Relationships: Adding the correct group structure while distributions still being able to flow to the right tax entity
We have a company called Sample Company Pty Ltd. The shares of that company are held by Share Company Pty Ltd on behalf of Beneficiary Trust. We should be able to put in that Share Company Pty Ltd is a shareholder of Sample Company Pty Ltd but that the distribution flows through to the ultimate shareholder Beneficiary Trust. Clients - Sync Partner and Manager from a Job with clients
If the Job has a Partner and Manager - carry this across to the client view with a notification for the Admin to check if correct. Most of the time the Partner and Manager will be the same staff as in the job. Result more streamlined for reporting purposes in client manager.

Clients | Invoices - Sorting invoices numerically
The previous post on this one has been closed for comments, but the resolution isn't complete. The invoices are allegedly now sorting by most recent invoice number first, but it doesn't work when you go over invoice 9999 to 10000 for example, 9999 is at the top and all the 10000's are further down the page (which is significant for weekly invoiced clients).
Also invoices transfer from current to archived when there is any payment attached to the invoice, even if it is only part paid.

XPM - Automatically Retrieve from ATO (Activity Statement) less clicks
Previously, checkbox options were all visible, without clicking.
Now I have to click and see the options (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks).
Previously, I could click Opt Out and it would opt out... now I have to uncheck 3 x boxes (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks). If I wanted to opt in, I could uncheck Opt Out and it would opt in... now I have to check 3 x boxes (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks).
What is it about making the product more efficient, not less efficient, do you not understand?

Practice tools - Notification when Job/Client WIP Budget is exceeded
Currently estimates/quotes require a specific amount of time to be allocated against a specific task for a specific staff member. We need either notifications when total unbilled WIP for a client reaches x amount OR to be able to create a quote/estimate for a total dollar figure across all tasks and staff, and have notifications set when that figure (or % thereof) is reached. This feature is standard in most timekeeping programs and I'm shocked XPM doesn't have it.

Client Insights - Monthly Transaction count
For accountants and bookeepers who charge fees based on number of transaction lines being recorded it will be great if a simple report can indicate the number / count of transactions recorded by each Source in a given period.
This will also be helpful for new accountants and book keeper who are sourcing for clients who are using Xero to share that details so a smart quotation can be provided
